Ren Ogata was a promising up-and-coming ballet dancer, but suffered a serious injury while dancing and decided to quit. Years later in college, she comes across a club building and soon finds herself intrigued by a transforming motorcycle-like robotic vehicle called a Rybat. She soon finds that her unique ballet skills with balance and finesse make her a born natural on a Rybat. However, those same skills also get her into serious trouble with government. Now, yes, Ren is a freshman in the drama department of Mustachino University. Being a ballet dancer, she was suspected to be the natural successor to her late mother, Yuki, having participated in many dance competitions from a young age. However, after she decided to quit of fracturing her left ankle, she first came across the Ryback Fuego.

Tamayo uh Katahoka is a junior in a French literature department of the university, being an upperclassman to Rent and Haroki. She's the current champion of the 8th All-Japan Ryback Race Championship term using her green Ryback RBZ. Tenshira Okakura is the advisor of the Riotback Club, who possesses a strict character and a large nose and was honorably discharged from the GDP. Haruki is a sophomore in the engineering department of the university and an upperclassman to Ren. He's just an enthusiast of Riotbacks. Shoko is Ren's childhood friend, becomes her roommate at the university. And she's extremely enthusiastic, as she's a huge fan of Ren. Then we have the anime original character, Romanov Kalendov, who's a colonel sworn in as a corrupt commander-in-chief of the GGP who runs the government with a dictatorship approach. He is later shot and killed by Misuo. Misuo, by the way, is a member of the GGP who moonlights as a lecturer of the literature department of the university and later revealed to be a double agent for Kiefer. Kiefer is the first lieutenant and leader of the BMA who rides the Black Ryback Black Knight. During the Battle of Arizona 10 years ago, he served as a soldier in the same unit of the GDP as Okakura and Romanov before later defected to the BMA. Kenji, who is Ren's younger brother, who's also involved in the BMA.

Final Verdict And Who It’s For

Honestly, I thought this anime was fairly good with all the action and whatnot, but it's also fairly aged as far as art quality. Like the main takeaways that I got from all this is that there's a girl who lost her chance to pursue her dream career and succeed her mother, but instead found herself in a new line of work where her experience as a dancer had came in handy. And after everything she's been through in these 12 episodes, Ren gets to be a dancer after all. So I say that the anime was a short but satisfying ride. But you know, without spoiling too much, I want to say it deserves at least a 7 out of 10, like maybe a 6.5. Because I mean it's okay. But if you aren't interested in anime that's like a little too old, then I will understand. It just, you know, I gave it a chance and it was not bad. It just kind of old looking nowadays. I mean, and there's nothing wrong with that, you know, because back in the day, that was like the best they can do, and that's cool, but it just dang, like anime and these days, back in 2026, it just kind of spoils you a little bit now because you think, like, dang, like, compared. I mean, not to do too much comparison. I don't I'm trying to get out of the habit of doing that. Just it's almost like I like it, but it would be hard to sell to people nowadays unless they're like a real mecha anime enthusiast. So I guess you can say, as a mecha fan, it's passable. But in general, I don't know if anybody will be checking it out, or I don't even know if there's any fans of Riotback, but it's not bad. Not bad. But that's
