Homelander doesn’t just want power anymore. He wants worship. And the final season of The Boys takes that idea to its logical extreme, where politics, celebrity, and faith blur into one terrifying machine that can crown a supe as a living god. We walk through the whole run, from the early chaos and sudden deaths to the final White House confrontation that forces everyone to pick a side and pay for it.

We break down the season’s core engine: the supe-killing virus, the V1 variant, and the way it turns The Boys into the very thing they claim to fight. Along the way we dig into A-Train’s last stand, Soldier Boy’s complicated return, Firecracker’s loyalty test, and how the Seven collapses under jealousy, sabotage, and raw fear. We also talk about the “church of Homelander” plot, why it fits the show’s satire so well, and how the god complex becomes a public performance that finally spins out on live TV.

The endgame hits hard. Frenchie’s sacrifice reshapes the team, Kimiko’s power-erasing ability becomes the key to the final fight, and Ryan’s choices add a painful family layer to an already violent war. We spend time on the finale’s biggest question: when you have a weapon that could wipe out every supe, where do you draw the line before you become the villain? If you enjoy The Boys season 5 recap, finale breakdowns, and character-driven debates about power and consequences, you’ll feel right at home here.

Welcome And Season Premise

SPEAKER_00

What up, gang? Let's talk about the final season of the boys. So, fast forward a year after the events of season four, Annie's got a spicy leap for our bots, shareholders, shaking trust and homelander, and her sister Sage and Ashley Bear, who is now the vice president, to spin the damage control. Meanwhile, Homelanders aging to know about Huey, MM, and Francis death bro escape plan as Butcher swoops in for rescue with Annie and Kimiko. A-Train, more of a family guy now, skips the action. But with the worms tunneling help, chaos erupts. MM takes down Love Sausage, and in the twist of fate, A-Train saves Huey, but pays the ultimate price to Homeland. RIP to A-Train, man. Like, damn. I want to say that season one, the first episode was actually like really great. The way they opened it was great. How Huey was trying to maintain hope when it felt hopeless now that Homelander was practically running in the United States. But keeping it going, Butcher and crew hit up uh Dr. Shaw's lab with a tall tale about Victoria Newman's fate to test the virus on the rock hard. Soldier Boy's back, and after a whirlwind of alliances and betrayals, he ends up toast. But not really. Ashley's Rebel Alta Ego Bashley stirs trouble for Homelander, but Ashley won't bug. French D please with King Clow 2's scram due to the virus threat, but he's steadfast. Just when Soldier Boy seems down for the count,

A-Train’s Sacrifice And Virus Hunt

SPEAKER_00

he's whisked away by Bot only to revival like a Phoenix. Now here's the thing about that. First of all, Ashley looking like Professor Quirrell from Harry Potter, with you know, with the face on the back of her head. And also, I thought it was kind of funny the way Soldier Boy rose up from that journey when they thought that he died from the virus exposure on Rock Hard. That's about it. Uh Soldier Boys back in the 7 and Homelanders after being mortally immortality Jack Prosecuton in his blood. Uh with Stan Edgar's Intel, the boys hunt down the elusive variant. Butcher Bros Brian into a risky plan against Homelander, even at a personal cost. Zoe Newman, Victoria's daughter, uh, and her dad Samir trash the boys' uh virus dash before fleeing. Uh Homelander soups craft Edgar's pad and Maverick, uh translucent son. Tragic tale ends with Annie's intervention. After a brutal uh mom mentions Guffaway Homelander, Ryan's left hanging. The boys are on a very mission uh as Annie steps aside, leaving Butcher with a battered Ryan. Now, yeah, Ryan finally confronted Homelander about sexually assaulting his mom and whatnot. And yeah, that fight did not go as well as he thought it was going to. Uh, I'm gonna do the season two review alongside this in this moment, but I gotta say, with Maverick, he you thinking that, dang, I didn't expect him to die in this one, but I guess you could say there's some closure behind the fact that Huey did uh was the one that was responsible for Translucent's death. So it just kind of makes sense for that scuffle to happen. Crazy thing is, like, this is the second time, well, maybe not the second time, it was like multiple times, but it's one of those moments where dangerous you could have let Huey have his moment to, you know, sign and like handle his own. But she came in. Well, really, it was her and Cindy. Like, Cindy found a way to find the boys, and Cindy was the one that killed translucent. I mean, not translucent, uh, Maverick, excuse me. Yeah, Cindy killed Maverick, and then it was Starlight that killed Cindy. There you go. And uh the funniest part was that moment where Huey was like, I don't want to fight you, Maverick, and then I was kind of hoping Maverick would have said, Oh, I wouldn't want to fight me either. Yeah. Uh Zoe and Samir reunite, and Samir knows the truth about what happened to Victoria, so he stopped helping the boys.

Fort Harmony Spores And Tension

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So, Homelander died God complex. I mean, obviously, and staged in a divine makeover for the nation. The boys venture to Fort Harmony for the variant. Frenchie, immune to airborne nasty from his wild past, watched the team implode. Uh, Soldier Boy's personal history collides with Frenchie's provocation, restoring peace. Homelander's seeing Soldier Boy's sorrow hesitates. Uh, Annie's reunion with Huey follows a family reconciliation. Old Father sets up the Democratic Church of America to make Homelander a deity. Now, I was meaning to mention O Father sooner, but essentially the Old Father. I like how he's being portrayed by DeVee Diggs, who is Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton. Great singer, by the way. He's not only this supersonic voice soup, I believe I think he can fly. I don't know if he can fly, but crazy now. I'm thinking like with the cape, I'm thinking like, what's the point of the cape if you can't fly? Like, you would think with the cape, I'm thinking I'm kind of hoping you would fly, you know what I'm saying? But also, he's married to Ashley. It was like a political marriage, but then again, they started to really get along for real, uh, even to a point to where like very kinky territory. Yeah, he's essentially there to kind of hype up the whole homelander is God narrative. Um what else about the episode? Oh, yeah. The boys essentially uh there was this uh one super, I believe uh his name was it was something. Fuck, but I know he's gonna be in Vault Rising. Like there's gonna be a whole origin story about him. Um, I know his name is Quinn, his um real name is Quentin, but essentially uh his spores was affecting the boys a point where everybody started getting all pissy at each other. And Huey had the best clapbacks because you know Huey wanted to pop off for the longest. You can tell. And they was like fighting with each other and whatnot until uh Soldier Boy and Frenchie um found each other and tried to find Quinn. Uh Soldier Boy had his moment with Quinn, and obviously Frenchie was immune to these spores because he was so drugged up over his past that he just built up an immunity to it. So there's that. Oh yeah, uh Homelander was with Soldier Boy, but uh Soldier Boy locked him up in a cell that had uh enriched uranium that was weakening Homelander, kind of like kryptonite in a way. And obviously, Homelander was pissed off about that, but then yeah, I'm not surprised because we all know Soldier Boy don't really care for Homelander, but we'll talk about that a little bit later. Eventually, Homelander did break out, and then when he found Soldier Boy, he was about to kill him. But seeing Soldier Boy all sad about Quinn and whatnot, it was like, eh, you know what, I changed my mind. So yeah, that was pretty much episode three. I'm sorry, y'all. I know there's like uh let me see. Let me check. I know it's like one, two, three. Okay, it was on the fourth, um, but I got like seven paragraphs. Um, that's crazy. Um, but oh well. Moving on.

Firecracker Falls And V1 Changes Hands

SPEAKER_00

So, one shots. Uh Firecracker's all reverence seeks help after Homelander fans trash the church, but her betrayal airs their dirty laundry. Noir's theater dreams crumble, leading the deep to murder director Adam Bork. The boys gear up for the virus with Butcher's promise of variant gifts for Annie and Kimiko. Sage and Ashley plot against Homelander's variant hunt. Soldier Boy and Homelander's uh LA Escapade ends with a bang, and Soldier Boy makes a deal with Bob Slide, but in a twist, the variant lands in Homelander's hands. Okay, so here we go. So, first of all, uh now see um why is like try to summarize all this. So, the way they set this one up, Firecracker. I kind of had a feeling that Firecracker was gonna die. But the crazy part is she was trying to appeal to Homelander's human side, but Homelander wasn't feeling that because he wanted to be seen as a god. That's the kind of problem with uh Firecracker. Like she loved him so much that, like, yeah, she wanted him to uh be top dog, but not before God himself, you know what I'm saying? So she had conflict with that. So Homelander felt like, oh, well, you're not truly committed because you can't forsake God for me, you know, you know. So she he ends up killing her. Uh, and which was sad because, you know, she was uh genuinely riot for Homelander, like she was one of the only ones that didn't really fear him, like she naturally liked him. Um the craziest part when she had a chance to leave, like Homelander was just gonna let him go. Uh but she just insisted on staying because, you know, she was like so mad that she was getting fired. Yeah. Oh, also, she was sleeping with Soldier Boy, and the pillow talk that she was having with Soldier Boy got back to Homelander, and Homelander felt like also you got some doubts about me or something. Yeah. And that's crazy because I was betting on Sage doing that with Soldier Boy and the season four review, but I mean, I was half right one of them did that, but not the person I thought. But then again, it was kind of expected with the gun porn they were doing. But yeah, essentially uh the deep being petty, like he was mad that oh noir, you know, we know Noir was an actor, and he was trying to uh get some theater streams off the on ground with that one uh director, Adam Bork, and the deep wasn't having that, so the deep sent uh Eel to murder Adam while he was on the toilet. And then when Noir confronted Deep about it, the Deep ended up killing him. Well, pause, let me back it up. Actually, the Deep had this whole thing where he was going to save some fish from the oil leak, but it was actually Noir that broke a hole in the um to create the oil leak, and essentially Noir um sabotaged Deep, and Deep got mad enough to kill Noir. That's what happened. Sorry, uh I had more notes, like I had more detailed notes, but at the same time, I just didn't want to hold y'all too much um talking about all this because if y'all seen the episodes by now, y'all already know what I'm talking about, but at the same time, you know, let's try to keep it at like an even pace. But after all that, Sage and Ashley trying to plot to Homelanders on demise to where Ashley just had enough, so she went out and Sage Sage's whole plan was she just wanted to be left alone, so she's gonna be in this bunker once Homelander gets the V1 and pretty much purge everybody that doesn't believe in him. But that's just the thing. She was left alone before he showed up. So if anything, I would have said, then why help him in the first place? He could have just said no, and he could have just fucked off, uh, found someone else to, you know, help him out. But then again, he needed someone as smart as Sage to help him with his plan, and Edgar was off the table. So yeah, it kind of makes sense for Sage to be involved, like they did need some sort of genius level uh person on the team. But her whole plan was just to fuck off. You know, she just wanted to be left alone the whole time. So if anything, she just wanted a homelander to get what he wants. So when the purge happens, at the very least, she's safe. That's the whole thing. It's the kind of like ensuring her safety. But Ashley wasn't really having any of that though. But after all that, uh, the boys, uh, Homelander, Soldier Boy was trying to hunt down bombsite, trying to go through Golden Gation and whatnot. They eventually find Bombsite. Uh Bombsite fights Soldier Boy. They had this whole tussle. Uh, I even like that one line where like uh bombsite always going to bash um Soldier Boy's facing, and Soldier Boy was like, uh, whoa, the queen sat on this face. It's a natural fucking treasure. But anyways, after all that, after the tussle, uh Soldier Boy was like hearing bombside out talking about wanting to be with Golden Gage and wanna uh put all this bond. So Soldier Boy gave him a deal to where, okay, give me the V1 and I'll strip you of your power so you can actually be with live and die with Golden Gage just because you know bombsite have V1 in him, he will be living on for thousands of years, and Gage will die it off. So he wanted to, you know, grow old with Gagea. So the D was Bombsite gave Soldier Boy the B1, Soldier Boy held up his end of the bargain. Bombsite was on the board. Why are you doing all this for me? I'm like, hey man, I'm just doing this for the Bob. Like, I'm not doing this for you. And fair enough. And then as soon as that happened, Homelander showed up, bombsite fucked up, and then Homelander was like, don't do it, don't do it. I think you're gonna do it. Like, hey man, look, I don't really care for you, but check this out. Here's the problem I was talking about earlier. This is what Claire will wanted. Yeah, imagine that deep cut to Stormfront being the main reason why Home Lander got to be one. And keep in mind, yeah, Soldier Boy knows that uh Homelander and Stormfront had relations. And if you don't know, or you already know, but like you know, just for clarification, uh Stormfront was Liberty, who we're gonna see in Vault Rising 2, and Soldier Boy and Liberty had relations too, so yeah, you know what's crazy though since they changed a whole lot from the comics, but I imagine what if kind of like they use soldier boy DNA to make Homelander. What if crazy enough they also use Liberty's DNA to make Homelander? And I'm like, Home Lander, you literal motherfucker. Yeah, but it's kind of crazy how they did all this just to set uh Homelander up like this, and like they doing all this just instead of a bot rising. And I really hope it's worth um shelfing Gen V and having this weird, weird direction. By the way, I forgot to mention uh the whole Mr. Marathon thing where they had all the well not all the celebrities, but multiple celebrities, you know, like Seth Rogan, um Chris Bright Claws, and um some other um that one other guy that was on Supernatural with Jensen Knuckles and Jared Padleski. Um by the way, yeah, Jared was Mr. Marathon, but yeah, the hunt for the B1 started with Mr. Marathon, and then it eventually led to Bombsite. And you know, um Mr. Marathon accidentally killed most of the uh celebrities that were there. Um, Soldier Boy did kill one, and then as soon as Soldier Boy caught with Marathon and found out that bombsite have the B1, that's when Homelander killed Marathon. Yeah. Uh Marathon was part of those seven, but A-Train beat them in that one race, and you know, yeah. And that was also back when A-Train was used up on B. So yeah. Uh all that same one. I know there's a lot more to it, not gonna lie, but oh yeah, uh, before I get into uh my last bit of nose, my last leg, Kimmy Coke can speak now. I know I made a joke about that during the season four review, but crazy enough, like a lot of vulgarity, like almost a little too much. Like, can I tone it down just a little bit? But okay, here we are.

Homelander Goes Rogue As Frenchie Dies

SPEAKER_00

So Homelander's powered up now. He goes rogue offering President Calhoun and aiming for DD status. Soldier Boy uh plans to just fuck up um against um backfired because Homelander felt like, oh, you can't leave me. I can't have you leaving me and whatnot. Why does everybody keep everybody cares about always leaving me? So he pretty much put Soldier Boy in a sleeper hole and put him back into cryostasis. And we don't get to see him at the finale with his wild. Um, because I'm kind of hoping that he was going to be the one to neutralize the uh homeland during the final confrontation. Not I'll get to that. Uh D ended up getting uh banished from every body of water between Ambrose is uh, you know, the octopus that he had relations with, between that and the oil league. Pretty much all sea life hates him, so he's not allowed to step foot on water. Uh investigating O Father's Shady Church, uh, Butcher relies on Frontier's replication of Soldier Boy's trick for Kimiko. Uh synapse captures Butcher and Huey, but they escape elsewhere. Annie and MM save a test audience from a deadly movie review fallout. After stabilizing Kimiko's treatment, Homelander crashes their base, leading to Frenti's heroic sacrifice. Now, okay. Let's start off with Homelander. Okay, now that y'all be won't he's feeling himself. He doesn't really need the uh President, like he pretty much thinks he can do whatever he wants because he can't die. Uh like I said with Soldier Boy, it just strange that's the direction they went with him. Uh old father pretty much doing the screening to see if people have genuine uh belief that Homelander is God, and whoever honestly believes can leave, and whoever didn't, they were being killed off. But not all of them died, just maybe like two, maybe four. But fortunately, the boys did show up in time um to stop. Uh Dog Not and What's her face, the cat girl, who, by the way, both of them will do like some weird shit, you know, sniffing each other. Uh MM gave us the backstory on how he became mother's milk, um, trying to nurse uh bird back. Uh Himiko es simply had the same ability as Soldier Boy to erase powers. And Frenchie trying to perfect it. He had this whole talk with Sage, who was kind of dejected, like kind of hopeless after the whole idea of, oh, I didn't know Soldier Boy was actually gonna do that. I didn't know he was gonna give him the V1 because she couldn't register love. By the way, I kind of can't stand Stage, not Stage, uh, Sage, ever since Jen V season two, to where essentially she pulled a Wonder Woman 84, where the guy that uh Thomas Guldolkin was having the body up, I believe his name was Doug. Uh essentially he was a passenger in his own body while Gudolkin was pretty much taking control of his body while Gudolkin's original body was like all fucked up and whatnot. And I'm gonna do a review on GMB season two anyway, so I'll give more to context on that. But my whole point being is that I just didn't like how Sage was like pretty much using that man's body, you know, for pleasure. And the dude had no choice but uh watch it happen essentially. Uh I just I just didn't like that shit. But anyways, um she's so confused by Soldier Boy's actions that she just felt like giving up, but Renchie gave her a pep talk to try to help her help him perfect the treatment for Kimiko, even using Love Violin of all things to bond. And then after all that, Homelander shows up. Uh Frenchie made sure that Kimiko and Sage kid in this one spot where it's like, you know, Zinc, so he can't see through Zinc as a callback to season one. A whole bunch of callback to season one, by the way. And then just to make sure that Kimiko and Sage are safe, he kinda uh diverted Homelander's attention to him and then pretty much taunted Homelander to a point where Homelander just pretty much killed him, like not even a gruesome way, just you know, kind of I guess he just sliced his uh stomach open and had him exposed to the uranium or not, because you know he was already injured, so it's kind of like just just enough to make him bleed out. And yeah, you know, Frenchie died. R.P. Frenchie. I'm like, why is it always a good character? I mean, I get it, I get it, but fuck. Alright, finale time.

Finale Breakdown And Homelander’s End

SPEAKER_00

The boys give Frenchie a hero's farewell. Homelander preps an Oval Office, godly proclamation, saves exit for a mundane life post-power test. Uh, with Ashley's help, the boys storm the White House. Uh, Annie duels the D while Huey and MM dodge Old Father, letting Butcher and Kim Kill face Homelander. After a bloody showdown with Ryan's help, a powerless Homelander begs, but Butcher ends him. Ashley's political career crashes, Stan Edgar returns to boss home, and despair over personal losses. Butcher's last ditch virus plant is foiled by Huey. The boys end up disbanding in the end. Uh, MM rekindles family ties. Kimiko heads to France, and Huey and Annie era for you. Final chapter. So, let me break it down by the fraction. So, yes, they buried Frankie. Okay. Right after that, Sage was pretty much goading Kimiko to use a blast. You can tell that she wanted to be hit with the blast. So, because Sage felt like her intelligence was a curse, like, really, it's crazy how there was this one TikTok that got um explained it. Like, I think I'm gonna uh include a link to it so that way y'all can see for yourself how she explained to where essentially her intelligence was a curse. She was basically being used for her intelligence, but as soon as her youthfulness was expired, like she was just thrown out. So that was part of the reason why she wanted to be left alone. Like the only person who truly loved her was her grandmother. So she just didn't want to be super intelligent anymore. So she wanted Kimi Clothes to blast her just a test of powers, and also, you know, she didn't want to be smart anymore. So she gets fucked off to uh Harry Potter Land and Orlando or something. And the thing was, the boys uh stormed the White House and whatnot. Ashley finally had her change of heart, wanting to uh do the right thing by making sure that the boys get to the right spot. And then Bashley, who was mad at Ashley for kind of like going behind her back, I know, I know. But uh Bashley was like, proud of you, bitch, and then they just kind of fucked off. And then it was a whole um battle where Homelander was giving his speech, but as soon as he uh saw Father, because keep in mind, Ryan wanted nothing to do with Homelander, he wants nothing to do with Butcher, like he just wanted to do his own thing. Uh as soon as Homelander read the word father on the prompter, he just kind of crashed out, calling himself god of the ashes on national TV. So he was kind of exposing himself. The boys gonna come in, fights Homelander. It eventually Kimiko like found the motivation she needed with the visualization of Frenchie kind of motivating her. She blasts Homelander, Butcher, and Ryan. Homelander's powerless now. Uh Butcher takes the crowbar and pretty much impales him, like peels his whole scalp open, whatnot. But before all that, Homelander was damn, he he was going out sad. Like, I mean, I kind of expect it because you know, Homelander was never really a fighter outside of his powers. Like, he never really felt the need to actually learn how to fight because he had powers. So the fact that he was so pussy against a fist fight against butcher kind of goes to show that he was nothing without the powers. That's pretty much age range, where he said it himself, where it's like you're just nothing. You're just a fucking loser in an empty suit and whatnot. It's like you take away those powers, and what are you? Yeah, like a homework was going outside talking about, oh, I'll suck your dick, I'll eat your shit, and whatnot. And then it was just disappointing in a way. I mean, it's too expected, but it just is like, come on, dog, at least go out with some dignity. Like, you didn't learn something from Vegeta when Beerus almost killed him, and Vegeta was like, oh well, I'll take sauce and the fact that it took Beerus to destroy it to kill me, and then Beerus was like, that's a fine way to rationalize your death. You shall die with your honor intact. See? Shit like that. But nope, that's not what happened. So, after all that shit, Homeland is finally dead. Old father, ironically, being killed by a ball gap when he was trying to use his supersonic scream, and the deep ended up getting killed by the sea creatures after Starlight kind of verbally lashed at him, talking about stopped being such a big fucking baby, and the Deep was just crying and shit. Well, mainly because he did get fired from the seven. And just like Firecracker, he was like just so upset that he was being fired despite being so loyal to Homelander. He literally sacrificed everything for Homelander, someone who didn't even respect him for real. So I'm not I don't feel bad for a deep at all. And then, you know, Starlight had his fight with the Deep, and she pushed him into the ocean. That caused all the sea animals, uh the sea creatures to attack him and kill him and whatnot. Yeah, like pretty much the seven's done, Homelander dead and whatnot. So the boys need to disband, but that wasn't enough for Butcher, especially considering that Terror, poor Terror, passed away um during the whole final showdown. So Butcher felt like, oh yeah, and also Ryan telling Butcher that he wants nothing to do with him. Like Ryan telling Butcher that you're no better than Homelander. So Butcher felt like he had no one left. So the only thing left to do was to release the virus in Vault Tower, and pretty much all the soups in there dies, and it just goes airborne, and that goes all the soups. But fortunately, Huey comes in, stops him. Like they had this whole tussle, and you would think Butcher was about to kill that boy, but at the last moment he hesitated, so um Lenny within Huey, and then Huey pulled the gun and uh shot at him. Keep in mind Butcher um lost his power, so it's not like he like bullet poop or anything like that. So Butcher let it happen because you know he wouldn't stop um calling Huey the spitting Lenny and whatnot, and Butcher ended up passing away. Yeah. So MM rekindles his family ties with Monique, uh, with his baby girl. He got Ryan, you know, he's looking after Ryan now. Uh Kimmy Cole gets a new dog and heads to France. Um, like boy Frenchie would have wanted. And Huey and Annie. Well, Annie's now pregnant, and they're doing this whole private sector uh business venture where they now own the A V shop that Huey worked at. Um he's like, yeah, it's like a legitimate job, but also uh on the side, you know, they do hero work. And yeah, uh Annie is pregnant with Huey's child named Robin. Yeah. So yeah, that was the boys season five.

Aftermath For The Team And Wrap

SPEAKER_00

Uh, if I didn't mention certain things, I do apologize. Uh, you know, to try and make sure I get this out as quickly as possible because I always wanted to talk about this. Uh I will make sure that Gen V season two comes out soon because I know it's kind of crazy that we didn't do that yet, but you know, I was kind of hoping to do this as a group, but you know, as the group doing their own thing, and I understand I just want to go ahead and get it out there. Uh, I might do an add-on to this review if they do decide to uh finally uh hop on, but you know, until then, until the next review and whatnot. Y'all go ahead and take it easy. Go ahead and have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. But ultimately, stay nerdy and remember that great things are coming. Uh, don't forget that we do have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Uh, I'm on TikTok, Stepflockestream. I'm trying to do some things. We're trying to, I I want to say we still have the Patreon for now, but eventually we're gonna move on to having a members-only page on the website. So eventually we're not gonna do Patreon anymore. But until we actually do that, uh, I'm still having the website under construction. But once I get certain things straightened out, then we go ahead and move our subscription services and whatnot, our exclusive stuff onto the website. But for now, you can expect Patreon to be the place to be if you want to get like access to episodes that we're working on, or the After Dark special, or anything else that we got going on, but mainly just to help a brother out because you know, like getting my money up and whatnot, so I can do more things and do more things for you. But yeah, like like I said, take it easy and you know, stay nervous.
