Promare: A Fiery Sci‑Fi Adventure That Nails Spectacle and Stumbles on 3D

JetBlackXtreme

Fire that thinks, leaders who lie, and a city built to control both—our Promare review goes deep on the blaze and the blueprint behind it. We open with the Great World Blaze and trace how a world afraid of burning turns people into fuel, then follow Galo’s journey from wide‑eyed believer to partner in revolt. The plot races, but we slow it down to unpack the twists: Kray’s polished utilitarianism, the Burnish link to interdimensional flame beings, and the moral math of weaponizing pain for escape.

We talk craft with equal care. Studio Trigger drenches the screen in pop‑neon palettes, angular shapes, and kinetic editing that push every frame to shout. The soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano elevates skirmishes into anthems, while the dub cast brings swagger and sincerity to characters who could have been archetypes. Still, the seams show. Shifts between 2D and 3D can jar, especially during Lio’s dragon set pieces, and we debate where ambition outruns cohesion. Even so, the film’s heartbeat—found family, stubborn hope, and a refusal to sacrifice the many for the few—burns through.

Our verdict lands at a confident 8 out of 10. The finale reframes heroism as protection instead of escape, letting Galo and Lio fuse spectacle with a human promise to rebuild rather than run. If you come for mecha bravado, ethical sci‑fi, and a score that makes your chest thrum, you’ll leave grinning, singed, and satisfied. Hit play, share your favorite scene, and tell us where you stand on the 2D vs 3D debate. What a gang. Happy New Year. I hope you had a happy holidays. I want to talk about ProMere. This movie I liked. I like this movie. And I'm gonna go ahead and dive right in. During a catastrophe known as the Great World Blaze, mass spontaneous human combustions caused fires that killed half the world's population. During and after the event, some humans developed pyrokinetic abilities and became known as the burners. 30 years later, Gallo Thymos is a resident of the city of Prometheus. Promethalos. I'm sorry, sometimes we need to pronunciation. And a member of the firefighting group Burning Rescue, which responds to incidents involving the Mad Burners, a group of radical burners accused of being terrorists. As Gallo defeats the Mad Burners, including their leader Leo Biota, the Freeze Force, a police force owned by the city governor Cray Forsyth, arrests them. However, Leo and the other prisoners break free and escape to a cave near a frozen lake where Gallo witnessed Leo failing to revive a mortally injured Burner using a mouth-to-mouth flame transport technique. Before they escape, Leo tells Gallo that Kray is capturing Burnish for human experimentation, which shots Gallo, who worships Kray after he saved him from a fire several years ago. Oh boy. Wait until we get to the free about that. Gallo confronts Kray, who informs him that Earth will soon be destroyed by an uncontrollable surge of Magma from his core and that the Burnish abilities can be used to create a warp drive, which he intends to use to flee Earth with a select portion of humanity. Gallo opposes this plant but is arrested for treason. Meanwhile, Freeze Wars manages to track down and recapture all the burnished population except Leo, whom his companions send into a nearby volcano. Enraged by the mistreatment of his people, Leo unleashed his hatred and transformed into a giant flaming dragon that burns down the city with the intent of confronting Kray. Gallo escapes from prison and intervenes with the help of Burning Rescue, restraining and cooling Leo enough for Gallo's colleague, Aina Artebo Artebit, to send them to the frozen lake. The flames melt the ice, revealing a laboratory run by a holographer projection of Deus Promethe, a scientist whom Craig killed. He explains that the Burnish can communicate with the Premier, a race of interdimensional flame beings who came to reside in Earth's core after a dimensional rift opened shortly before the Great World Blaze. They have a natural desire to burn, which the Burners have inherited. The Surging Magma is a side effect of subjecting the Premier to pain and create experiments on the Burners being an incomplete stone technology or accelerating its growth. He also reveals that the collective agony caused by the Premier Power Warp Drive will lead to Earth's destruction. In a mecha uh Deus design called Deus Ex Machina, Galo and Leo return to Premopolis to confront Kray. In the ensuing battle, the ship and warp drive are seemingly destroyed. Kray reveals that he is a burnist and that he indirectly started the fire that he rescued Golo from using publicity from the event to launch his political career. See what I was talking about earlier. That's fucked up. But he also recommended that Gallo join the Burning Rescue in hopes of that he would be killed on the job. And Kray seemingly killed Golo and takes Leo to use him to power the warp drive. But Leo's flame saves Gallo using a drill promo design. Gallo reaches the ship's core in time and defeats Kray with using Leo's flame. While Leo is nearly killed due to the warp drive, Gallo revives him using the mouth-to-mouth technique. And after fusing the Earth's core, Leo convinced Gallo to combine the drive with the mecha to protect life on Earth. The Premier enveloped the surface, allowing them to burn completely and harmlessly and satisfying their natural urge, causing the rip in the core to close. The burdens become normal humans, and Gallo and Leo resolved to rebuild the world together. That's the plot. Now let's get into my personal notes. Personally, amazing animation and art. As expected from Studio Trigger who co-producing the film with X-Flag, Gallo reminds me of Kamina. Vulcan looked like someone straight out of Cyberpunk Edge runner. And with Aina, of course, there's gotta be at least one girl with a skippy outfit. I mean, I'm not complaining, I'm not mad at it, but like, of course. I will admit the transitions from 2D to 3D animation look weird here and there, but it's visually beautiful overall, don't get me wrong. The music is pretty good, the film's theme songs, uh Awakening and Imprisoned Ice, I'm using the English version of, are performed by Superfly. And soundtrack is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano with the album published by Anyplex. From the action to the comedy, this movie immediately reminded me of Gorilla Gun and Killer Kill. And oddly enough, Fire Force between the Freeze Force and the Burnish. I thought it was funny how Cray was on some Thanos mentality talking about making hard decisions for the sake of their goal. And I did notice some familiar voices throughout the movie, uh, from especially from the King of the Dubcast, such as Young, Johnny Youngboss as Leah, Kristen Freeman as Cray, Steve Bloom as Ignis, Carey Walgren as Lucia, Neil Caplin as Vulcan, Matthew Mercer as Lara, and Yuri Lawendor as Mason. I was really digging this movie. I really was. And if I were to give it a rating, I would say it's about 8 out of 10. It was mainly the animation for me, too. I'm like, come on, y'all. Y'all did Girl again, y'all did Kill a Kill. Y'all didn't need 3D animation that much, but I don't know, like maybe we're in a different time to where 3D animations become. I mean, as a guy that's trying to learn 3D animation, I can't be too mad, but at the same time, like we're so used to the how clean they made the 2D animation, and it makes you wonder how much of the bud like how much money they needed to make it into 2D. And I understand it's harder to do in 2D versus 3D, but man, I think some parts of it, especially with the flaming dragon that Leo engulfed himself in, would have looked a lot better if it was 2D. That's just my opinion. That's just my opinion. Yeah, I'm done with my review. And I just want to say that this is the first of 52 mega anime reviews that I'm gonna be putting out every Monday of 2026. It's gonna be a personal channel for me. So hopefully I can actually stand on business on that. I'm gonna work on more. I was gonna do swarth marking, but the thing about that it was it is a it's a it's a spin-off of mugw alternative. So I'm thinking, yeah, I'm gonna hold off on swarth marking for now. I'm just gonna combine the two to where I'm gonna do mugwove in a alternative and swarth marketing together. It's gonna be like a super review, not exactly a stream review because a stream review, it gotta have at least four to five parts to count as a stream review. Uh with a super review, it can be like two to three, maybe, but even then, I'm probably gonna knock out all that within like 30 minutes. That's just the thing with me. You can expect quick review reviews from me. So, that being said, this is one of 52 mega anime that I'm gonna be doing for the year 2026. We're gonna be doing a whole lot more different reviews, but we're gonna be doing things differently to where you might might hear some of the other members of my gang doing their solo reviews. We're still gonna do group reviews, don't worry, we're gonna still do those. It's just we're changing things up. We're trying to have more structure, more improvement. Like, we're trying to do different things, and we got a whole bunch of things going on, like a bunch of things that I'd rather not get into details with, but like hopefully these things pan out. And yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna run it. I'm not gonna ramble for too long. So, with that being said, go ahead and take it easy. This has been Jet Flight Extreme with another nerdy review. Have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. But remember to stay nerdy and that great thing is coming. We're gonna be trying out different things in 2026 and expect a whole lot of shit to happen as long as I stay locked in.
