Secrets of the Silent Witch: Villainous Nobles, Magical Mystery and a Bashful Genius

JetBlackXtreme, Kokugatsu, Professor Tuck

Dragons fall, rumors fly, and somehow the scariest battlefield is a tea party. We dive into Secrets of the Silent Witch and unpack why this “magic school” story trades big spells for quiet, clever moves—and why that choice works more often than it should. Monica Everett’s voiceless magic isn’t a gimmick; it’s a system. She builds spells like an engineer, crunching wind, distance, and structure into formulas that snap open problems as if they were chess positions. That brainy approach reshapes everything from mind control to barrier design, and it keeps the tension grounded even when the show sidesteps flashy battles. If you came for nonstop action, you’ll get a dragon appetizer and a mystery main course. We talk through whether that swap is satisfying.

The cast around Monica is a gallery of frictions and allies. Nero, the snarky familiar, and Ren, a deadpan wind spirit, steal scenes while guarding secrets. Lewis struts between menace and mentor, a barrier savant who hates being outdone. Claudia enters as a “perfect noble” and exits as a sharp, medically gifted foil. Isabel plays the theatrical “villainess,” weaponizing etiquette to defend Monica while fanning the legend she must hide. Even the chess club turns into a character crucible—where pride, humility, and a single castle move ripple through relationships. Then there’s Bernie, whose insecurity curdles into obsession, and Casey, whose politics turn to sabotage. We tease out how these arcs sketch a world where class lines, new money, and factional loyalty matter as much as mana.

Under the campus calm, larger stakes hum. Whispers say the first prince doesn’t even want the throne. Felix sees more than he admits and may already suspect who protects him. Assassins come from the wrong side of the aisle, and an unseen power tugs on strings. The season drops intriguing lore crumbs and then wanders, so we call out pacing stumbles, the odd midseason recap, and the threads that demand a second season to resolve. Still, the art shines, the voice work feels lived-in, and the romance undercurrent adds warmth without drowning the plot. Most of all, Monica’s silence reads human—strength born from anxiety, not aloofness.

If you like fantasy that privileges brains over brute force, social chess over spell spam, and characters whose flaws drive the story, this one’s worth your queue. SPEAKER_02:

What up, gang? Let's talk about Secrets of the Silent Witch. Uh, I'm gonna be honest with you, it's nice. It's nice. Uh, we have Monica Everett, the Silent Witch, the world's only practitioner of voiceless magic, a veritable heroin who's single-handedly fended off the black dragon of legends. However, this young prodigy is actually super duper shy. So turns out she only learned voiceless magic to a voice speaker in public. Ignorant of this, the seven sages have placed her on a top secret mission to guard the second prince.

SPEAKER_01:

Can she keep it together as she contends with both social interaction and the evil targeting young boy?

SPEAKER_02:

Alright, wow. First of all, it's crazy how some of these uh premises that they do on Crunchyroll and YouTube. I mean, not YouTube, uh Crunchyroll and Wikipedia. They have these premises, but like the seven sages didn't place her on a mission per se. It's more like uh Lewis, one of the other seven sages. He was the one that was assigned to Gordon Felix, but he was like, eh, you know, this sort of thing's not really up my alley. And also, I think Monica needs this excuse to make some new friends, so have her do it. But uh, on a real note, good artwork, good voice acting, and good music. It was lighthearted and kind of funny, but it also had a bunch of mystery threads and a reverse hymn subplot. Just a little bit, just a little bit. It's like not obvious, but it kind of reminds me of a podcast diary too, where it's like there's something there, but it's not like obvious like that. But uh before I get deep into the characters and we talk about the plot, uh Goku Gatsu, uh, first of all, thank you for joining me for this episode. And second of all, tell me, what's your impression of Secrets of the Silent Witch?

SPEAKER_04:

I like it. It was pretty cool. Um I don't know why it is you have me watching these doggone romance animes. I give me the magic aspect of it, but just saying.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, look, look, look. All I saw was, okay, Secrets of the Silent Witch. All right, so it's gonna be a magic show, right? All right, and then the like I said, the premise, you you read the premise, right? You heard me read all the premise, right? Where it seemed like, all right, well, okay, okay, I'll entertain the voiceless magic, I'll entertain it, right? And then I wasn't like, okay, well, I don't hate it, but it's not what I expected either.

SPEAKER_04:

This is true. This is true. It is not at all what you expected, especially the opening premise of it too. So automatically shows up, Monica, she calls down the holy white gate, and then light just rains down and starts one-shotting dragons and wyvers left and right.

SPEAKER_02:

And I'm sitting here like let's keep that because no, no, no. Like the reason why I bring that up, the only reason why I had that like the uh specified is because I love how multiple people throughout this one season, this four well, hold on, like it's they say 13, but it's actually 14 if you count the recap episode at uh episode 10. But uh I like how multiple people crossed this 14 episode season was like, man, let me tell you about this style of witch. Like she's so fucking nice with it, like she changed the whole fucking game, like he killed a hundred dragons, including a black dragon, without uttering a single word. And then Mike was just sitting there like, no, shut up, stop it.

SPEAKER_00:

You're exaggerating, get your kind of funny like that.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm like, okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I mean, so with the opening into it, I was like, oh, this is about to be a full-on action-packed anime. This is gonna be good immediately after. Okay, so we're sending you to school. I'm like, oh my god. I thought I escaped this.

SPEAKER_02:

No, but hold on. I thought, okay, so he's gonna essentially be like Loki the bodyguard for this prince who's also the student council president.

SPEAKER_04:

I thought they were gonna be like Queen of Ash, but uh, there's very little action. There's very honestly, there's very little magic in this thing, too. Yeah, I'm like, bro, what this is another school anime, that's all it is. I we got the trick in Smeckle Dorothy Exactly. At least the fighting school anime has fighting scenes and stuff in it, but Jesus, you got a magic school anime with barely no magic.

SPEAKER_02:

No, no, see, that's crazy because like we just reviewed the water magician. You're thinking, like, okay, like uh water magic, he could just be doing a whole bunch of water magic, right? Or I'll entertain it. And then it turns out, no, no, no, it's it goes beyond that. Not only that that boy real was doing ice magic, but that boy was so fucking nice with it, though.

SPEAKER_04:

Exactly. And so, and I feel bad. I do feel bad. The animation of the silent winch is really good, but it's one of those series like you would not pick this up right after watching Water Magician, which is exactly what I did. Because as soon as we finished doing a review of Water Magician, I immediately went to this anime.

SPEAKER_02:

So I was just like, uh It's almost like once you get uh a good magic anime, it's like, okay, I might entertain any more. Like, I mean, so far they um they've been coming out like this, but then you have some where I'm like, okay, we're not knocking on this one, but it's just not what I expected.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, if you was if you was hoping for an all-out fantasy thing and stuff, it's no. Even if you talk about the fact that, like, oh my goodness, they're trying to assassinate the prince. You're like, oh, okay, so it's gonna be some fight scene.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey, hey, but as a dude who just got on the whole apothecary diaries train, I'm all for it though. Because the mystery quads were like with the prince and some of the other people where it's like, hold on, like, there's something about you that I'm gonna keep my eye on you, motherfucker. You know, shit like that, the way like there's like some mystery thread. Like, you know how some things played up with uh um Buddy Road Aaron, who got expelled and uh sent to jail because he was like fucking around um with some of the business and whatnot. And then his fiance, Selma, was like plotting in the background, and then in typical drama fashion, she's like, Yes, I did it. It was me, and all that other shit. And you're like, okay, okay, I can stay for this. I can stay for the mystery element of it, to where I'm like, okay, I want to figure out what the hell is going on. And it feels like with Felix, uh, I want to talk about him a little bit more, but like all I'm saying is I feel like Felix, there's something about him. Something, something about you though. Like, it feels like just like Gene C from Apotheker Diet, where I'm like, there's something about you that you're not telling, but it's only one season, so that's why that's one of the reasons why I'm kind of banking on at least two more seasons to like figure out what's going on with the dude because I feel there's more to them than what we've been shown so far.

SPEAKER_04:

True. But um they give you definitely the same thing for Monica, so I can understand what you mean. On to the so I actually have not read the manga onto this one, so this one is an anime only review for me, so just bit bare warning into that. Um, I did go to try to find the manga after watching season one. So I was enjoyed enough that I wanted to watch, I want to go read the manga, and I wound up getting sidetracked with another magical girl anime about and I like the other the manga that I'm reading because it was in short, how Monica her thing, the whole thing is numbers. She was able to do diversify magic with numbers, and by doing so, she was able to create chantless magic. Well, it's something similar for this girl in this manga reading. She is not a normal magician, she's considered an outsider. So we're getting some mix of uh Harry Potter into this as well, too, where only certain people were allowed to be witches, per se. Um, you have to be within the family bloodline to be considered to be a witch and stuff, and so she's an outsider who's extremely fascinated. She winds up accidentally discovering the secret of magic for this for her world, and so because she discovered the secret, she wound up being hunted down by the villains of the story. That's where I'm at so far, is it's pretty much understanding that they pushed her into the world of magic against her, like not necessarily against her will, she wanted to learn, but they tricked her to do so, so she winds up getting saved. But her special ability is how Monica is able to do chantless magic because she's so focused on the numbers, and the mongerine, the main character, she screws up magic, but because she screws up magic, she winds up is more creative and discovers new things. So you know how Monica she's able to because of the fact that she's able to focus more, she was able to create her own spells. Like they made that whole point throughout the whole season. They mentioned that they're like, Oh, the silent witch, she was able to create formulas that didn't exist before and just completely redo magic as a whole, and she created more powerful, more unique spells that was super fascinating. The same thing happened for this girl in this manga. She right she uh did the magic incantation wrong on the spell.

SPEAKER_02:

No, don't listen to me. Don't don't write down those formulas like yeah, so yeah, so this girl just wrote it, she did the magical um thing wrong on it, and in doing so, discovered super speed.

SPEAKER_04:

So I was like, okay, now I'm kind of investing this because this kind of reminds me of Monica a little bit. So it's funny I picked up this manga specifically when searching for the manga for this anime, but also finding another story where the main character is very similar. So I was like, okay, so it's gonna be a lot of huh. So it's one of those ones that I was like, I'm interested, I'm interested. I kind of like these little magical creation things, you know, like discovering new abilities and stuff.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Yeah, I like that about this one to where, like, okay, like I was just interested in the fact that okay, voiceless magic, let's see what that's about. And come to find out that not only is he really good with mathematics, that between the mathematics and the chess play, I really like that inclusion in Death Storage where like it's at the tail end of the seasons where they had the whole chess tournament and Monica had to learn how to play chess and whatnot. Kind of like that to where yeah into it. But uh not only do I like that, so I hope in that uh there's more to it. Uh it's almost like one of those animes where if you're a math nerd, then I mean, yeah, like he's gonna teach you math, but then again, it's like if you kind of like really into math, then you might at least identify with modern, especially the whole part where part of the reason why she uh mastered voiceless math is because oh, she's so her social anxiety is so bad is that she figured, okay, well, instead of learning how to do those incantations, I'm gonna learn how to do it without incantations, you know, and make it all these forms and whatnot. Just add an excuse to not speak to people in public.

SPEAKER_04:

So in technicality, I don't know how they're gonna go into this one because I will say, when you mentioned about the episode 10 recap, there is a slight change that happens in the anime that I wound up noticing. So at the beginning, it's not that she learned how to do magic without incantations, she just did it without speaking the incantations, and that's where it changed halfway through the anime to where all of a sudden it was like, oh, she does it without incantations. I'm like, wait, wait, wait. But before it's technically, she did have incantations, she just said them in her head, she just learned how to do it without actually saying it out loud, type of thing, right? And then it kind of changed. I so I don't know what's going on with that. That was a weird change that happened.

SPEAKER_02:

And to be fair, it's not like all her spells uh is voiceless because she says so uh when she summoned that high wind spirit where okay, some spells are so strong that you have to do the incantation, but even then it wasn't like long, it was more like it kind of reminds me of buddy from uh Akasha Records where uh you can learn certain spells, but depending on the incantation of it, you can kind of tweak it. And he was like telling his class that, hey, yo, like if you say certain uh spells a certain way, then it gets like a different effect and whatnot. And that's kind of like what she reminded me of, where like you kind of like make a shortcut on the incantation. You know, like if it takes a long time to say the incantation, it's like some magicians just so nice with it that they only have to say like a few words and just speed up the whole process.

SPEAKER_01:

So it's like okay, okay, I'm like that, I'm like that.

SPEAKER_02:

I know we talked about Monica a whole lot, and honestly, that's pretty much we all I wanted to say about her. Like, because essentially the whole thing is she uh pretty much Lewis forced her to enroll into this academy to be the bodyguard of the prince. And oh, I like how eventually, as she was like making new friends and like kindness toward her making ways, not really big ways, but like she at least gained the attention of the student council and Felix. He was checking around. Like he was suspicious of her at first, where I'm like, hold on with that flower part, like that's kind of suspicious. Then you have to save me by the time that flower part about to hit me. Like, do you have something to do with that? Uh, but then eventually he learned to trust her, and it got to a point where he was like, Hey, you know what? Since you're so good with numbers, you can do the accounting and whatnot. In fact, how about you be our treasurer? And she just fainted, and like she had to have her cat. Uh, I want to talk about the cat in the summer in a minute, but she had to have her cat that like kind of snapper out of. And um, she was like so happy because that's the thing where it reminds me of a pocket carry diet, where with Mal Mau, like she she's not shy like Monica, but she's fairly introverts, where like she don't really like fucking with people that much. But she does love her poison, so you start speaking her language and she'll start lighting up like a Christmas tree. But um that part is so clear, yeah. That's pretty much all go ahead.

SPEAKER_04:

I think if I only had to add anything else from Monica, is uh fuck Bernie. Um kids, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I want to talk about Bernie.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, I want to talk about Bernie.

SPEAKER_02:

Like, I'm glad you reminded me of Bernie. I am so glad you reminded me of Bernie. Like, let me, I'll get to him in a moment, but uh front right now, since we already talked about him just a little bit. Let's talk about Nero. All right, Nero is Monica's talking cat familiar. He immediately reminded me of Sale from a Sabrina Teenage Witch, just a little bit. Like, you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

Honestly, it's not it's not even just a little bit, his demeanor, every the way that he interacts with Monica. I swear to you, I think the Mongaka used to watch um Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Because it's it's almost a carbon copy. I swear to you, he's almost a carbon copy. The jokes that he makes in his demeanor is it's almost exactly the same.

SPEAKER_02:

Literally, yeah, but it's it's almost like um Salem just had that level of Saz where I'm like, it was cool, but I'm like, yeah, like the demeanor, whatnot, but I'm like, I was kind of looking for that uh same level of Saz, you know, like almost like uh not exactly like Zale, but like I want to say more close to like uh Jeffrey from French Prince, where I'm like, you know, a little sassy, like a little under the press type shit. I was kind of expecting that. But no, like the main difference with Nero is that he's also capable of transforming into a human form, usually assuming the guise of a young man in his 20s. Now, he is an avid reader of fiction and a glutton for me, especially chicken. But his true identity in nature is unknown to all but Monica. So, in other words, uh people don't really know that he can actually do all that. Uh, but Monica knows that, oh, yeah, uh he's my familiar. Like most people think he's just a cat, like a talking cat, but like, nah nah, he can do a little more than that. Uh, anything you want to add on to Nero before I move on to the next character?

SPEAKER_04:

Uh he's extra goofy as hell. And uh I definitely appreciate though. Honestly, it's not as much him as I need to talk. We need to talk about one of the other familiars, but you know, him and this whole oh, get your hands off my woman type. Nero's just a goofball. I love his character. He's he's just joyous to have. But hold on, who who did that?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh it was Nero Man. Who was it like? Uh the younger uh Ring.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, Ren.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah, Ren. I'll get to her in a minute. Yeah, that was funny. Uh Lewis. Let's get him out of the way. Lewis is a very fellow member of the Seven Sages named the Barrier Maze, thanks to Master at Defensive Mazecraft, and also known as the Guardian of the Underworld. He has this nasty but gentleman personality, but also likes bullying the strong but never picking on the weak. He receives a covert order from the King of Redil to guard the second prince Felix, despite being part of the first prince's faction. He forces Monica to take this place as the Prince Bodyguard after the latter thwarts' attempt to keep him under surveillance with a magic item. In reality, he actually wants Monica getting out of her children and wants real friends. He's married to his longtime sweetheart Rosalie, a doctor, and they are expecting their first child to make him a very happy fellow. Uh crazy thing is with Lewis, I don't know why, but he was kind of giving me black butler vibes. It was like a weird fusion of Sebastian and Grill at the same time.

SPEAKER_04:

I can see that. I can see that. He's got the goofball of this, but at the same time, like how Sebastian just loves torturing people, just loves torturing um just because uh just for anything, any given reason whatsoever. Yeah, I could definitely see that.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, it was like just a little bit. I'm like, I don't know why, but I'm like, I see both of those motherfuckers than you in the same time. Especially uh when Monica had those little uh plac bats where, like, just imagining him uh coming after her if she fucks up the mission. And I'm like, Jesus Christ. Are y'all really friendly? Like you so scared of that man.

SPEAKER_04:

She's terrified of dude. Like every zoom time it shows him walking through the fire, him laughing evilly with his fucking sharp ass teeth and shit. Yeah. I like Lewis because I love his barrier magical. I love the fact that he's um so complicated with things and he got so pissed off every single time his shit doesn't work the way he wanted to, or someone fucks with it. It's like when the jewel broke. He's like, you see, I was very um she was like, Yeah, you seem pretty upset about it. Mm-hmm. I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm cool. I'm like, no, that nigga was pissed. He was mad. And then going to when Monica had to rewrite the the barrier spell around the school, and he was like, someone was messing with my barrier. I assumed it was you. It's like I had that was a special thorn. You know, the the witch of thorns helped me out create a special barrier onto this. I got past that with the wind spirit, but I put a dummy formula on there and said, I'm pretty good at finding that out. But but it took me a minute, it took you only one minute to find out my dummy formula. He was so damn mad. I was like, this is like a manager trying to be top of your class, but there's always that one person who's just good at it and it just pisses you off, and you're just like it's like, what's the point?

SPEAKER_02:

No, no, no, no. You remember that early Jimmy Neutron episodes where okay, Jimmy is like so good at his um grades and whatnot, like it's almost like uh everybody just gets mad whenever he does something like scientific, and like, well, what's the point of doing anything if there's you, Nerdron? And then like when he like disappears, well, I don't know if it's like Jimmy exactly, like I I think it was, but um it was at one point where he disappeared at one point people were like thinking, oh shit. Well, now that he's gone, um it's like I went from hopeless to needs improvement.

SPEAKER_04:

That part, I know even Cindy always like she was so intelligent and was second in class and was always so pissed off that she would put in so much work into things. I will never get over that crosswords thing for him. Where she was just like, hey, I did the crosswords like I was doing the crosswords puzzle in Penn. It's like, well, me and my dad do it all the time in the Beijing times that he pulls out and then unfolds and this thing is she was so pissed off. I'm like, man, what the uh yeah, it's one of those moments like no matter you hear all the time, no matter how much effort you put into things, is somebody out there somewhere who can do it better than you. Just let it go, move forward, just do the best that you can do.

SPEAKER_02:

Don't email me that. I want to I I believe that. I really believe that the the annoying part about that is when for some reason they just want to like rub that in your face somehow. It's almost like in a way, I mean, maybe not intentionally. Okay, some people actually do it intentionally, but it's almost like in a way, it's like they just can't help but be very loud about it. Like I'm I'm I don't know how to word it exactly, where it's like they're like really in your face about it. And it's like I want to be happy for you, but bro, like it's almost like especially when you got you think like just like how we're talking, like you you you're doing your own thing, and the next thing you know, they're trying to one up you thinking like, oh well, uh my shit's better than your shit. And I'm like, well, good for you, but goddamn, like do you have to really come up behind me just to make me feel inferior for my own thing?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I do be feeling like unnecessary a lot of times for people doing that. Like the Monica doesn't do that, it's just she just can't help it. She's just naturally good at things and naturally is better than a lot of other people, I think. And she doesn't try to be her poor that poor girl, she does not try to be, she's just trying to be good. That's all she's trying to do.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, you know, with her character, like I'm not even mad at her because there's like obvious trade-offs where yes, she's a good mathematician and she's great with magic, but uh she's terrible when it comes to social interaction. So I'm like, okay, well, she's not perfect. Like, at least it's not like uh I love it when you have like these cartoons where here comes this character that's supposedly perfect. Like they I remember two shows that do this uh specifically recess and proud family, where with recess, they had this perfect kid show up and he was just doing everything perfectly, but like I can't be mad at him because like you know, he was just this new kid that just came and went, and then in Proud Family, there was Renee, like now you guys see it as I know you watched Propping, so you know you remember Renee. You remember Renee. I remember Renee. See, like she was so fucking perfect that uh Trudy was like, hey, yo, you know, can't can y'all take her back and like, oh well, what's wrong? I'm like, you know what? Oh, oh, too perfect?

SPEAKER_01:

I'm like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh hey, you know what? I don't even blame me because you know, sometimes she just so fucking nice with it that she makes all the wise, like make her make them look for pieces of shit. So it's like, yeah, you know what? I want to have my household back, thank you. And look, like, it's not their fault, it's like some folks are just really that good, but I just really hate it when people go around, it's almost like they're actively trying to make themselves look superior with their abilities and whatnot. When in actuality, you know, so many things like I want to say, like uh look at the draw or some shit like that, to where like some people are just born with their skills, and some folks spend years trying to be good at what they do. And um, I don't know, like at somewhere along the lines, I just realized that you gotta approach these things with a sense of humility, to where I'm like I can look at somebody and be like, okay, their shit is not better than my shit, but I'm not gonna just actively tell them, Oh, my shit is better than your shit.

SPEAKER_01:

No, like I'm just gonna let them be with I'm just gonna let them be. Like, should let it be what it is. I'm not gonna say anything. I got nothing to prove. I'm not trying to impersonal party.

SPEAKER_04:

But while we're actually on the subject of the person who's being so extra perfect in the show, we're gonna try that it'd be a perfect time to transition from Lewis to Claudia.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_04:

She winds up her introduction. No, they mentioned the fact that they don't really know much about her. Her introduction starts at the tea party, where all of a sudden she has criticisms for everybody's tea. And it's like, dang, girl, you just so you just here to complain?

SPEAKER_03:

It's like, what damn this, you don't like anything. Yeah, a proper noble is supposed to do it this way. A proper noble is supposed to be this. A proper noble is this, is the worst.

SPEAKER_02:

I like how she was also one of those people through when it came to magic, and uh, let me tell you about the silent ways. Like, this bitch is so fucking nice with it, and then Monica just had to sit in at the T part that's like, ah no, like, stop talking about me, please.

SPEAKER_04:

Talking about the silent witch. Do you know why she doesn't speak? Because she doesn't waste her breath with things, she just is high-class noble. Not Monica the whole time.

SPEAKER_02:

No, so yeah, oh hey, hey, hey, hey, like it ain't even like that, I swear. Like you're making me sound like a total bitch.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm sitting here like, imagine you getting your dick like so hard, and you're just like, please stop. Please stop.

SPEAKER_02:

Especially when you have to have a secret identity where I'm like, you're not supposed to like let people know you're sad, which like you're like, you're you're like on a secret assignment, like you're just infiltrating the school and whatnot. Like I can't like it's almost like saying, like, I can't confirm nor deny those claims and accusations and uh whatnot. Um I can't implicate myself like that. But nah, what I do like is how every time she actually does something, not to say like she was being lazy, but you know what I mean, like magic wise, like every time she's done something magic wise, and um you might have like some witnesses, and you see this whole spectacle, right? And then they're like, oh damn, like it's crazy how. You're doing all this without uh doing a single anti cantation, and then immediately they have that immediate realization like, wait a minute, there's only one person in the world who can do this without incantations.

SPEAKER_04:

But I absolutely love Claudia's character towards the end. Uh, when you first meet her, she's a bitch, but then afterwards you can go to like her a little bit, find out she's excellent with medical. Um, she's uh Cyril's sister. She loves every single just like any sister, she loves trolling her brother at any given moment, at any given time, when possible. Oh my gosh. As soon as he comes around, she's instantly on sister trolling. I don't even know. Is she the bigger sister or the little sister? I don't know. She trolls so hard, I can't tell.

SPEAKER_02:

All I know is that she's his foster sister. So wait, hold on, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Okay, so second, she's a second year student. Cyril is uh I don't know. I honestly don't know. I know he's a vice president, but it doesn't say uh if he's like second or third year. Like I want to say he's a third year like feelers, but I don't know. I can't confirm no deny those things. What uh what up, Tug? But uh yeah, uh I don't know.

SPEAKER_05:

So y'all remember when Professor Tuck showed up at halftime and the zone one of the burger bowl?

SPEAKER_02:

Oh cool. I mean, I kind of knew that uh you might still have been fast we late, but my name is Okay, so my name ain't just Professor Tug, okay?

SPEAKER_05:

It's Professor Tuck the loud wizard.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh my god. So Cyril is actually Claudia's uh older brother, it's the foster.

SPEAKER_02:

So she's the younger sister. Yeah, I gotta figure that some outside. I'm thinking like I might say younger sister, but it doesn't say my notes didn't say my god.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay, I had to look it up because I was like, wait, I don't I don't remember them saying it in the show, but they might have and I might have missed this. That's why I just wanted to be sure. Anyway, but Claudia, she was like, especially finding out that she is super fantastic with um medical herbs and stuff like that. She's able to identify things quickly, quickly identified the fact that Monica got poisoned, which I do agree with Randy just mentioning this too. How the hell are you one of the seven sages and your ass got hit with poison? You knew instantly as soon as you slipped the tea that it was bitter. So you knew automatically something was off. But your ass still the whole thing.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, like not just zip the thing, like she threw up the whole thing like it was nothing.

SPEAKER_04:

It's like, what the fuck? Anyway, Claudia shows up, she's like, You were poisoned, and then instantly identifies the eye drops because she's like, hold on a second. She's like, I don't know what type of poison you use, and immediately sees the girl's face. Her eyes is like really red and puffy, and she's like, You got eye drop poison. It's like it's not a poison, it just makes your eyes you know look a little bit puffy and stuff. Yeah, because it's the poison, you dumbass. You're having a reaction to the poison. That's why your eyes look puffy, because you're poisoning yourself.

SPEAKER_02:

You're dumb bitch, anyway. Sorry. No, you good now. You do you know what you did remind me of that. There is one character that I do want to talk about now. But before I even get into that, what's your impression of Secrets of the Sudden Witch as a whole right now?

SPEAKER_05:

As a whole, I like the show. I do believe that it could have done with a bit more action, but I understand the storyline of it.

SPEAKER_02:

Um yeah, we were just talking about how like there wasn't as much action that we thought. I thought we we were thinking it was gonna be like on the same level as War Magician, but it was like less action and more mystery.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, it leaves you open um for solving some of the issues and crisis that's going on. Um, I like the romance bit of it. It makes you wonder if they're gonna get together, is they not gonna get together? Like, what's it what's gonna happen when he finds out that she the silent witch? Low-key he in love with the silent witch. So I mean, it kind of balanced out.

SPEAKER_04:

It's gonna be two birds and one stone. He's in love, he's infatuated with the silent witch, but to him, that's kind of just a fantasy. But until he becomes king. The other thing is that he absolutely loves Monica. He knows he loves Monica, so ain't no little point into it. He finds out that Monica is the silent witch. To him, I got best of both worlds.

SPEAKER_03:

I was already infatuated with you as the silent witch.

SPEAKER_05:

I was infatuated with you as this person. No, the I'm really interested in the story of Monica Dad, too. The all the mysteries is what's keeping me enticed. I really just want to find stuff out.

SPEAKER_02:

That's why, like, that's what I kind of fuck with that though. Like, it's like that classic thing to where, like, you know, like with uh characters like Spider-Man and Batman, to where maybe they have this love interest, but the love interest is only in love with the hero, but they don't know who the man is behind the mask. And it's like, as far as they know, they're like this normal person. So I just kind of love that kind of thing to where I'm like, oh, you know what? Perfect example, uh Danny Phantom, where like uh you remember how uh that one girl, Paulina, was like a big fan of Danny Phantom, but she wasn't really um Danny Fenton. I just like bro, like it's it's it's crazy how you're curving the same dude that you caught feeling for, but you just don't know that.

SPEAKER_04:

To be honest, they had they had that same thing happen for like one uh series of Superman where Lois Lane was so infatuated with Superman, but she was not studying Clark Kent for nothing. They changed that to later times, but where she became infatuated with both of them type of thing, but there was a series. But I remember the Superman Animated series when it first came out, she was not feeling Clark Kent whatsoever. She didn't not like him whatsoever. She was like, No, uh stay out of my face, new guy.

SPEAKER_05:

But no, he's saying people with glasses.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh well, damn what might as well. She might as well have. She was curving him hard. I was like, Damn, he dude wouldn't even say nothing to her at the time. She was just like, get the fuck out of my face. And she's like, I didn't even say shit to you, damn.

SPEAKER_02:

Anyway, man, like Superman. Um like, well, I'm right here. No, no, no, he wouldn't do that, but like he I would be like kind of throwing my hands up like so win or no, like because technically I am here, but I can't tell her that though. But uh oh, you know what? Let me talk about uh this one character while we're talking about the whole T thing, Isabel. I like her now, she's the daughter of uh Kermit, the influential Eastern noble, and a first-year student at the advanced course at Serendia uh Academy. Now, she agrees to cooperate in the mission to guard the second prince and at like Monica's villainous niece, who abuses her to make the latter cover more convincing. In reality, she adores Monica, doting on the Satan and even addressing her as dear sister whenever they meet in private. This is thanks to Monica saving the lands of her father and the lives of their subjects when she defeated the Black Dragon of Warriors. She is very adept at collecting information and has a lot of connection in high society. Isabel and her family are avid fans of villainous characters and fiction and are always ready to lend their quote-unquote vile expertise to Monica for her mission. Now, first of all, she kind of nailed the laugh. Okay, not so much in the dub, but in the sub, she fucking nailed that villainous lady laugh. And second of all, I like how she defended Monica with the whole T situation to where uh there was the whole conversation with I think it was like between Carolyn, yeah, the same bitch that was like giving Lana a hard time. I'm gonna talk about Lana in a minute. But uh Carolyn was uh like was the one that poisoned the tea that Monica drunk, and basically Isabel like trying to analyze the tea and whatnot, like, oh well, you know, the tea's fine. Like, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. And then Carolyn was like, what the fuck's going on here? And I'm like, oh well, you know, like it is what it is, but you know, a member of my family did get almost poison, so uh I do have to talk to my father about this, and uh, there goes all your connections, and you're gonna probably gonna be socially ruined, but it is what it is, like you know, I just can't like shit like this why, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's it's like in a way, I kinda feel like Monica needs a friend like Isabel in her court, like someone that can kind of like be the villain for her, so that Monica just go ahead and operate, do what she does without having to resort to such things. Like, she don't have to like make uh big splash at the school to where like she can just continue guarding the press without anyone having eyes on her, while Isabel like kind of like you know, kind of like draw attention to herself to where, like, okay, you know what, you know what I really like? She reminds me of Megan from Dreck and Josh, where she's like, Nobody picks on my sibling except me.

SPEAKER_04:

That's a big fact right there. It is a big fact. She played she did she played that venom role very well, and then was switched right back and forth each time. And she played it so well that Claudia really thought, not Claudia, the um the girl, the forgot the girl's name, the poisoner, um really was like, oh yeah, Carolyn was like, Oh, she'll be on our side. She hates her anyway. Everyone knows that she hates her. And she was so taken aback, she was so taken surprise. And the fact that she was like, it's it, even if she is worth, even if she is the worthless part of my family, at least she had the decency to finish the tea at the nasty, disgusted tea at the dinner party. But she clearly got more class than you do since you can't even do that yourself. Look at you on the ground like that. I was like, damn.

SPEAKER_02:

I was like, woman.

SPEAKER_04:

Something about when high class people like call each other out and extra fancy and stuff.

SPEAKER_02:

Her with that fucking van through like her, she had her clock.

SPEAKER_04:

I was like, oh nah bro, no, I can't. Jesus leave. That was that was funny though. That that was I laughed. I was like, man. But um I'm trying to remember if I had anything else on to that one. Because this you said you wanted to, there was someone that you were specifically talking about. Um not over. Oh, okay. Well, Isabel, I ain't got much else for her. I wish I had more. Honestly, I wish there was more of her in the show. Like, they made it's like it's like she disappeared for a while, and it felt like they made an excuse by it by saying that she was sick. Because then all of a sudden she's like, I I haven't seen her in three days. It's like you're still sick, get back in bed and get the feeling better. But I want to see Monica. And I'm like, okay, so that's why we haven't seen her, is that she's sick. But if she really was sick like that, how come Monica wouldn't check? I think Monica would have checked up on her like that had she really known. Oh no, I feel like we could have had more years ago. But that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02:

In a way, not not just because he's a redhead, but in a way, in a weird way now that you said that like that. She reminds me of Agnes from season two of Wednesday to where like she's very useful, but it's almost like she can be so useful that you kind of have to kick her out of the story for a little while. For a little while. Yeah, I could definitely see that. Otherwise, things would be too convenient.

SPEAKER_04:

You're right.

SPEAKER_02:

I can see that. I could definitely see that. Yeah. But uh, now that Tuck is on here, like here's something I kind of want to talk about. Uh, the whole thing with uh Professor Thornton, to where he was ever since he showed up, he was like embezzling the funds of the school and whatnot. He was up to no good and whatnot. And Monica confronted him and everything, and he was trying to do the whole mind manipulation um magic crap, but she was like, bro, your formula is trash, like no, ain't no way this shit is gonna work on me. Uh, in fact, let me show you something. Like, you see all those butterflies and saying, like, what the fuck? All these butterflies are magical. And he did this with no intention. With, wait a minute. Are you uh that's right? And then uh, it's crazy, like he spent his whole life trying to uh master that. He did it in three seconds, and then after that, I I like how maybe I oh damn, like I might be misremembering, but uh I think it was like for 24 hours, like it was like a weaker version of it but I swear to god I thought like so he had this dude under piggy and homies for 24 hours.

SPEAKER_04:

It's a wonderful dream about numbers, dude. Nightmare of pigs popping up everywhere. Oh my god, he probably woke up and never ate pork again. He woke up a turn muslim. He's not never eating pork. No, bro. Too many pigs, too many pigs. This is trope, this is trope anime that they make jokes about all the time. Where it's like, imagine a villain that spends their entire life 30 something odd years trying to learn something, trying to master this craft. Here comes the main character less than a year's worth of uh training automatically out of classes them. Why? What was the point? What was even the point?

SPEAKER_02:

Well you said you almost like some people just come along and just happen to be better.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, we're not even they didn't even talk about the whole chest situation. Monica is just like great at everything. She picked up horse riding so well that she learned how to fly. Just anyway. Imagine that. I picked up horse riding so well, I now know how to fly.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_06:

How the fuck does that turn into that?

SPEAKER_02:

Oh yeah, uh, we were talking about wind spirits, right? Uh let's go ahead and talk about uh Ren. So Ren's Belpee or nickname Ren is a high wind spirit, uh, contracted by Louis as his familiar. She usually takes the form of a beautiful woman in a maid dress, though her relationship is that of a master servant. Ren takes everything she gets to bad man Lua to for a somewhat nasty personality. As typical of spirits, she does not understand human emotions and always speaks in a monotone. She is capable of transforming to a small yellow bird, and thanks to her nature as a spirit, she's adept at white maids crab and has excellent hair. She is usually the main point of contact between her and her master and Monica while the latter is on her mission at the academy. Like, okay, like I kind of like Rand. Like, it's just funny how like you know you have the maids where you think like she's just gonna be all submissive and everything too, but nah, like see when I was talking to you about excuse me, about Nero, how I kind of wish he low-key had that same energy Joffrey had in um breast prints. Ren kind of takes that box where it's like it's always Ren that's kind of uh looking at Lua's like, this motherfucker here.

SPEAKER_04:

Rin is my favorite character that the whole show. Every time she shows, every time she shows up, it's either gonna be funny or she's useful to the story. Because keep in mind, every single like every single time something wound up happening, Rin was there. Like every single time.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, it's the tone of voice, bro.

SPEAKER_04:

I figured you was gonna say something one day. But it's it's just like like you also mentioned, too. She waste no opportunity, no opportunity whatsoever to say some shit about Lewis. Like she roast on his ass every fucking time. He called this the ugly worthless maid, and that makes me wonder when he says worthless maid, like I'm actually curious, is she actually bad at being a maid, too? Like, I'm actually just curious if that's the case. Because I mean, you got really you it's a familiar. Familiar is not necessarily supposed to be your servants, per se. They're supposed to just kind of like be alone to help guide you along and things like that. They're not necessarily a servant, so maybe she she's purposely a bad maid as another way of fucking with him. Like, as much as you say she doesn't understand human emotion, that's bullshit. She knows exactly what the hell is gonna ride that motherfucker. She said shit on purpose.

SPEAKER_05:

I'll tell your wife that tools with boys.

SPEAKER_04:

And then she does the shit that would make Monica mad too. Uh Miss Silent Witch. Why would you do this? Uh Miss Silent Mr. Waitress says it too. Miss Silent Witch. That's like saying bitch have to find out.

SPEAKER_02:

I can now see why I kind of made that parallel to Black Butler, to where it's like, okay, is he really good at the maid? I'm like, I mmm, like, I don't think season one kind of focused on that. But imagine if it's like she was really fucking nice at it, and I'm like, bro, like, uh, you got this one guy who looks like a character from uh Black Butler, and then meanwhile, you have his familiar who, yes, he she's a high-win spirit, like she's supposed to be like this familiar that uh he's uh contracted with, but her secondary function is okay, be my maid for a little while. And like, all right, well, as long as I'm in this contract, I might as well do a good job at it.

SPEAKER_04:

That part. So it's just it's just hilarious, though. Because and then every time, every time she's always like really nice with how she does things too. And she's the one that's also one that I mentioned earlier about oh, she really just wanted to be like, oh, is this the opportunity to get off my woman's stay away from my woman? No, this is not the right time. She did it one time, was so damn happy with it that um that's what it's like. She doesn't say that no, she does understand the constant commotion. She puts on a whole feet, a whole farce into that shit. She just has a monotone face. That's it. She has her natural resting bitch face, and there's nothing wrong with that. If she is that bitch, if she is a bitch, who the fuck cares? I'm here to do my job, and I do it well. Oh gosh. Ren was like my favorite. Yeah, she was my favorite. Every time she showed up, I knew it was gonna be either she helped out along the story because it was also her, too, that notified that uh that notified her that Bernie was being attacked. Even amongst the bullshit that Bernie did.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh speaking of uh, are you talking to my wife who? Uh Neil. Like, okay, with Neil, not a whole lot to say with him. You know, he's a second year, he's on the studio council with Monica, the only other second year on the council. Mob manner, easily approachable, whatnot. He's the fiance for Claudia, and I like how Claudia looked at Monica like, are you trying to steal my man? I'm like, uh no, uh I wouldn't do all that, like you know. It's just kind of funny how there's like this reverse harem where it's like it's between Felix, Cyril, and I kind of want to say Elliot, but even though Elliot's kind of being uh Cinderate about it, to where like at first he was like, oh, I don't like you, bitches, all that shit because he's like, he Elliot's the type of guy that's like all about class. So if you're a commoner, then he just uh thinks you're beneath him and whatnot. So he's kind of an ass. But uh at the same time, uh he kind of warms up to both Ciro and Monica. So uh I just feel like there might be that like what Tuck was saying, there was like this romantic subwight going on where it's not obvious, but it's kind of there. But uh I think I just think it's kind of funny, like uh there's this implication that Monica's um taking all these men away, like just attracting all these men just by being around.

SPEAKER_04:

I like how anytime Claudia's like, I don't want to do shit, but then the minute that Neo winds up saying, Claudia, can you please help? She's like, Of course, anything. Let me explain to you how it is that we fell in love.

SPEAKER_02:

Nah, you know what's crazy? They give off that same energy that uh Yu G and uh damn, what's her name? Um Psycho or something like that, from um Buck and Test. Like, almost like that same kind of energy said, Oh the chick is not yondering like that. Like Claudia is just, you know, she's Claudia, but not that crazy.

SPEAKER_04:

I don't know. I feel like we're gonna see some crazy Claudia later on, but we'll see. We'll see come season two. All right, uh, who will?

SPEAKER_05:

I mean, I guess we might as well talk about Elliot. Did they confirm season two?

SPEAKER_02:

No, not yet. Not yet.

SPEAKER_05:

Interesting.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, you can also just read the manga. I'm just saying. But don't do what I did. I want I wouldn't I wouldn't go find the manga and wind up getting myself caught up in a whole nother series. I'm not sure. I'll tell you later.

SPEAKER_02:

Don't do that, man, because you you get all the bulldogs meme on him. You're like, read nigga, read.

SPEAKER_05:

We're gonna whoop this nigga's ass.

SPEAKER_04:

That's why I like that's why I like trolling talk because I know he don't always like to go read the manga at the time. He's a he's a major anime watcher. He'll read the manga, but in most cases, unless it's really dope.

SPEAKER_05:

I had to stop myself from reading my hero. Like, even when I was reading my hero, I stopped right where where we currently, well, when All Might was fighting one for all with the mechanical stuff, that's exactly where I stopped. I said, Oh, I can't read no further. And I read that like years ago. And I was like, bro, I don't know what's gonna happen, and I don't want to know. And I'm watching it, dub, just to just to make sure it prolongs.

SPEAKER_02:

See, I'm with something where I'm like, hey, bro, like it gotta be like really good. Like the anime gotta be really good for me to like dive into the manga. Like, it like, okay, sometimes when the manga, like, okay, I knew about Tai G number eight and Sakamoto days before it got animated, and I looked into it like, okay, it's nice, pretty good, pretty good. But like, for the most part, I usually don't even hear about the story until there's like an anime adaptation. I'm like, oh shit, all right. Well, all right, uh let's watch the first season. Like, if it's really good, I'm like, I might just like if there's like no indication of there's gonna be a season two or whatnot, then all right, fine, I'll read them up. It's once again, it's like how I feel about Contechio Hitman Reborn, where okay, they just left it off the way they left it off. So I'm like, okay, no, that's not good enough. I need I need more. So I read them up.

SPEAKER_04:

That's fair. That's fair. That's how I wound up messing up kaiju number eight. Um I'm I've already finished it and already finished the whole series, but then you know the anime is only just now getting to season three. But still.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, hold on. Uh Jump Fiesta is gonna confirm when may it might confirm when Kaiju number eight coming out. They're also uh doing some announcement for uh two other shows. Uh I'm kind of forgetting right now, I'm brain farting, but it's like two other shows. Uh I know Sakamoto Days was like one of them. Where like they're gonna announce when uh some news about those.

SPEAKER_04:

But uh I mean everywhere I read them, everywhere I read them, I read manga in like multiple different places because some platforms get it later than others, and I'm like, nah, y'all take too long. Everywhere I've I've looked at it so far, including Sean and Junk, it says is that it was the final chapter. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay, and I want to give a shout out to Telos because Talos told me about Solo Leveling way before Solo Leveling came out, and I read the manga, and I was like, oh my lord, I need to watch this. And it came out like three months later. And Telos says, I told you and uh I I believe that nigga now.

SPEAKER_02:

But no, listen, like I'm all for manga recommendations, but bro, listen, like just like with how my list of anime just keep it longer and longer. Y'all coming at me with all these manga recommendations, like hey bro, uh I don't know. I don't know about that time like that.

SPEAKER_04:

You're right, because uh let's see, my anime list right now, I should gotta I got uh the count onto it, it's long as shit. Anime to watch is a good 46 long. My manga is uh 21. Okay. Surprisingly, that's where I'm at right now on my list, so I understand. Um, so I didn't wind up adding a silent witch to my manga list. I was like, nah, because once I got into the other one, I was just like, okay. But I know I really want to talk about this chess before I do get off, but I want to talk about this chess game, so I really want to go ahead and talk about Elliot.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright.

SPEAKER_04:

So if you don't mind, let me just mention this one. Monica's introduction, because you had mentioned it, and I was like, I'm gonna wait because I know we're gonna come to it later with her and this chess game and how she did it. First off, I love her whole whole thing about this. I didn't watch Dub, I only watched the sub into it, so I don't know if the dub did this or not. But when she wound up seeing the game of chess, and I was like, oh, so you know, it's just based on strategy and stuff. She said, Okay, she said, so do we take into account the wind currents? Do we take so we don't take into account wind currents, landform? We don't take into account this and this and this, and it really puts into perspective how complex and detailed her formulas are, and the fact that she takes into account wind currents, elevation, all that type of stuff, the terrain, all those types of things, into deciding what spell she uses, the amount of power she puts into the spell, and all that type of stuff. And then immediately he went into saying, Oh, okay, so we're not taking into account any of those things. This is just this flat surface, and that's it. And he's like, Yeah, that's it. He said, She was like, Oh, this should be easy then. And then instantly was like, Oh, easy, the fuck, girl, this is your first game. What the hell you mean? And he's like, Oh no, I didn't mean easy like that, you know. She got shy again, and then proceeded to whoop this dude's ass so hard. The whole fucking chess club stopped to watch and was like, Yo, she's beating his ass. Like, what is happening right now? He was like, Oh shit, oh shit. Um, he's like, I can win by castling, but I didn't tell her about castling that feel unfair. And sure enough, he he was his pride hit him so hard that he still went ahead and casting. Just to go ahead and win. And she was like, well, if that's a legal move, then then I won. Then you won. There's there's nothing I can do about that. I lost and I take that. And he throughout the whole rest of the show. This dude took that to heart. Of the fact that he was like, Damn, she beat my ass so hard that I had to cancel.

SPEAKER_03:

She whooped this other dude so hard, this nigga proposed to her.

SPEAKER_04:

He's like, what? He's like, allow me to elaborate. We go to two different schools. But um the fact of the matter is that we have no reason to ever see each other, but we're engaged, then we can meet each other every summer and play so our heart play chess to our hearts content. Say, look, I'm the fifth, I'm the fifth son of this really high-class person, and it's like of this kingdom. And and and like you would never want a need for nothing. Like, just I just want to play chess with you. You do you got my heart in patriot.

SPEAKER_02:

Bro, you just reminded me of this new anime coming out next season to where not exactly like that, but it's kind of like got that whole uh damn uh I'm trying to think of that other instance, but you know the whole Romeo and Juliet type thing, you know the whole the monoges and capulus. Uh I'm trying to say that other uh the other instance, like it was the McCoys and the Hatfields. That's right, that's right. I remember that. Um where it's like one of those things where you have those feuding families, or in this case, it's like two neighboring schools. Like one of them is T Dori, is the all-boys, the Linkwood type school, and then you have this nice, pristine, polished, all girls' school, uh, Kikio Academy. And you have these two characters from those two different schools. They get together, they like Bond and whatnot, but they're not supposed to be together.

SPEAKER_00:

And I'm like, and ever since then, like every time I see some shit like that, I'm thinking of that one acon song where it's like nobody wants to be us, see us together, but it don't matter now.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, the fact you brought in a con. The fact that you brought in a con. I can't watch it. Has any girl ever whooped your ass or something so hard that you was like, marry me?

SPEAKER_05:

No, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity.

SPEAKER_02:

It's crazy how uh on YouTube. Well, I lie.

SPEAKER_05:

There is one girl, but it wasn't like marry me. It was like she's my arts enemy now. I told you, I think I said it before, but every year, an accelerated reader, I would get number two. Number two. I love reading books. I will always get number two, and I always lose out to the same girl. I'll say her name, Dogg on Rabbit. She made me so bad, bro. I was always number two, and you know in that little trope in anime where the main character always be number two. Yeah, that's exactly how it was, bro. Doggone Savon.

SPEAKER_04:

She got your point that you ingrained her name in your memory, man.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah. Savon. She always I would never forgive you in. And like, you know what's crazy? I had joined the army. I was like, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna join the arm every time I die. I joined the army. Next thing I know, she joined the army. I was like, bro, she's trying to be better than me in the army.

SPEAKER_02:

Bro, it's almost like no, it's no no no, hold on, hold on. It's crazy how I said uh Isabel reminded me of Megan from Drek and Josh, but now this whole thing started to remind me of the whole thing uh Josh and Mindy has where it's like this girl trying to out class you and everything. Just find that arch rifle. Sometimes that arch rifle is the opposite. But nah, sometimes it'd be crazy how like they be trying to one up you, but it's crazy how they keep following you around and shit. And I was like, bro, um, go away, go away. Like, why you keep showing up trying to one up me and say, like, why are you so obsessed with me, dog?

SPEAKER_05:

Why are you so obsessed with me?

SPEAKER_04:

Matter of fact, this is the perfect opportunity while we're talking about this. Are you ready, Jay? Come on. Let's go ahead and talk about Bernie. Talking about obsessed. Oh, okay. It's the perfect opportunity to talk about Bernie.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay, the main thing I gotta say about Bernie is that dude comes off as one of those incel redditors where he gets outclassed by Monica, and he's like, Ain't no fucking way this woman beats me. And like you think you're all that like you just trying to trick people into trying to trick people into thinking that you're sweet and everything, but I bet you're a real bitch on the inside, and I'm like, bro, like chill, dog. You need to you need to calm down, man. Bro was fucking hard. Bro, fuck it. Tweet man. Oh, you think you all that good because you took uh put out some candles without saying anything?

SPEAKER_04:

You think you're better than me because of that? He had straight up attacked Monica without warning. That's some illegal that was illegal shit right there. That that itself was also illegal in itself. You just attacked her without warning just because you're mad. That shit. I just dude was he was tweaking out crazy. And you the bad part about it is just the fact that Monica was so scared. And then when that even that whole backstory, I felt I it felt some type of way about that one because it's like his introduction, as far as when we really get to see him in that backstory, the first thing he says is him hyping himself up that he's better than everyone, and then immediately goes to save Monica. And you're like, mmm, I don't know about it. Hold on a second. Something already seen off in that situation. It wasn't just like, oh, I wanted to help her, type of thing. No, he just wanted to prove himself better because that's who he was, and she just got infatuated with that. Stockholm syndrome like crazy onto them. You you praising this guy as your savior, but he was never your savior. This dude just wanted to prove himself worthy. That's all he ever wanted to do. So she gets to be the seven one of the seven stages, and he didn't. Oh, he was pissed as hell. How dare you! I taught you shit. Matter of fact, you wanted to make me look like a fool. I'm sitting here teaching you how to do quick craft magic and do quick chanting, and your ass wanna sit here. Oh, you knew how to do silent chanting. You just wanted to make a fool of me. That's all you want to do. No, nigga, she is nobody wanted to make a fool. The fuck is wrong with you? You're off your own dick. I didn't know somebody could wrap their own dick around and stick it up their own ass. Like, damn, nigga, get off your own dick. What is wrong with you?

SPEAKER_02:

I can lie. See, and then he's obsessed. Yeah, like on top of that, he he he goes back into the picture, right? And then crazy enough, like, he kind of gives all that damn, like, I wanna say not exactly like it, but damn, like, he kind of reminds me of one of those characters where it seemed like uh, you know, they show up back into the picture, and the main character or whoever character that he's uh involving, it's like they just straight up traumatized to see this character show up again. And then it's crazy how like Bernie, he kind of knew the old time that uh that was uh well he he didn't kind of knew, but he was like immediately suspicious to where I'm like, nah, I remember that face anywhere. Like you're trying to um pretend you're like, what are you up to, woman? Like you trying to pretend to be someone that you're not just to get people to like you, uh you and it's crazy how you um come into this academy knowing who you are, and what what you trying to prove that you're better than everybody just going to the school, uh even though you don't even need school since you're one of those seven stages? It's like some shit like that, but like in the end, like when the whole accident happened, like he did stick up for her, but even then, like, bro, like I I wasn't saying, like what he wanted. Yeah, yeah. But hey, hey, listen. To the gentleman listening to this episode. Uh, if you watch Secrets of the Silent Witch and you see Bernie, I just want you to know this is not what you do around the hose. This is not what you do. Okay, don't go around having hissy fits just because a woman beats you at something.

SPEAKER_04:

For no damn reason. Anyway, other thing about it is though, it did also showcase the fact that outside of his ups uh weird ass obsession, that if he could actually use his mentality for good, he was very quick at identifying the cult identifying the intruder, the who's pretending to be his teacher. So he was very quick about to decipher all that together and stuff. He was like, see, first off, you asked, Who is this? Anybody would know who that is. That was your biggest ass mistake. Second, I asked you for help, and you was like, sure, I'll help you out, but you never helped me out because you don't you're not good at magic, you're not good at chess. You're just the head of the chess club just because you're the head of chess club. You're not actually good at chess. How the fuck are you supposed to be able to help me? So who the fuck are you? Straight up calls it out like that. You know what I'm saying? He has great deductive reasoning, you know? He was able to fully identify the fact that this person was in true that was a false person. He was injured, he was an intruder. He was able to quickly identify how this try to handle the situation best he could. You know, he still wound up losing that fight pretty quickly in the end, but it still wanted to mean the fact that clearly had he chose to be one just one of the good guys, literally, Bernie could have been a great character. Just gotta get past that weird ass obsession that this nigga got. That's pretty much it. But otherwise, he's pretty straight. He's not he's not a horrible character, type of animal.

SPEAKER_02:

Kind of giving me my hero academia flashback to where, like, there's characters like there's examples of characters where if their life went differently, they probably would have been a hero. Main example, Yimiko Toga.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, this is true. All she wanted was just to be loved. Yeah. And she can't she can't choose her own ability. That was just her ability. She didn't choose that.

SPEAKER_05:

Let me just tell you that she a baby mama can do.

SPEAKER_04:

Nigga, I would be surprised if she wasn't for you, but at the same time, my guy.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh it's almost like, you know what, Tug? I want you to have this.

SPEAKER_04:

Are you so infatuated with yourself that you would want someone who would drink your blood and then turn into you, but with a vagina while still riding you?

SPEAKER_05:

No, I just like them pretty.

SPEAKER_02:

No, no, no, no, with that, with that big ass smile on face.

SPEAKER_05:

Not not like I like yonderades, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, like bro, like the bases that she be making, though. Like, it just be knocking me the fuck off.

SPEAKER_05:

It's so creepy, I love it. Yonder, bro. They so loyal. Y'all, they so loyal. I I know this. But yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh okay, so uh, I don't have much time. I do gotta get off, but I need to I I want to make sure I have a chance to mention this last whole thing. Uh, my biggest gripe into this show is the pacing. We had three arcs in uh 13 episode 14, technically. Uh, where I watched that, I didn't get the episode 10, the whole recap episode. They excluded that because it like it was pointless. It wasn't excluding the whole episode. We didn't really need it, but I'm like, okay, thank you, in case we weren't paying attention. Yeah, see, that's a season two beginning episode. That is not a middle season one episode. So I think the reason they had is because there's supposed to have been like a long gap between the episodes, and so they had did a recap in case people forgot. Versus for us, we wound up watching it with season one ended and binged the whole thing, so it felt worthless. So it's like, yeah, it was not needed. I'm just saying. Anyway, moving forward onto that. We had three separate arcs, and in one arc we wound up skipping through. Um, I forgot what's her name, Casey was the girl's name.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, yeah. I want to talk about Casey. See, so okay, my bad. Like, I'm gonna make it real quick. Uh, second-year student at the advanced course uh from a family nose on the country side. She saved Monica from a runaway carriage during an attempted theft at school. The two quickly became friends after she offers to tease Monica forthright, also good at embroidery. She later revealed her friendship with Monica was all ruse in order for her to carry out this genius plan to assassinate Felix. Once exposed, she disowns Monica and is taken into custody for a crime, having narrowly avoided the death penalty thanks to Monica's pleas. Unlike Lana, who I forgot that I want to mention a little bit before we close it out, she seems to be aware of Monica's secret mission at the academy and merely exposed her true identity publicly before being arrested, but she decided not to do that. But uh, what you got to say about Casey Cook Guster?

SPEAKER_04:

So, first off, in fact, is a whole little random lore drop in this whole thing. So, no, we mentioned mentioned earlier, right before we really like started, was the fact that there's no real plot to this. There doesn't seem to be a real plot into this one. The plot is Monica's the bodyguard of the second prince, and there's people out to assassinate him because of whatever royal thing is happening. It's like just protect the royal. But then there's also this whole first prince versus second prince. Every now and again they'll drop some random lore facts in the show. First lore fact being that the first print, no, this is actually not not the first one, this is just the last one that they dropped, but it winds up being one of the most important things to understand. The first prince and his mom don't actually want the throne. So the reason that there's more of a protection going on for second prince is because the second prince actually does want to become king, whereas his older brother does not and doesn't really care to be king at all whatsoever. So there's something important that's into that, where it's like all these factions, there's the first king faction, and all of them want the first king to be the first prince to be king for all these different reasons, but none of them really know that the first prince doesn't want to be king, except Lewis. He's the only one that actually knows that. So it's very interesting to understand that aspect when everybody that's going after the second prince is the first is part of the first prince faction, is not even none of the rival kingdoms, it's just everyone from the first prince faction is trying to kill the second prince. But he the first prince doesn't want to be king, and none of them knows that. There's like, no, if he if he becomes king, then I'll be good. But if the second prince becomes king, he's just the puppet of this other mysterious guy who we've told been told her told about multiple times throughout the series, have never once seen him, never once know anything else about him. Just the fact they say that the second prince is his puppet, but throughout the entire episode this entire show, the second prince has never once acted as his puppet. Weirdest damn thing into the story.

SPEAKER_02:

But also another reason why I want a second season, because bro, like how are you gonna introduce shit like that and just leave it off like that? Like, bro, like you're kinda warranting a second season at least.

SPEAKER_04:

Exactly. So I don't know what's it's just weird. It's like it's so much that's left out, and then like, okay. Then the other Lord drop wants to come with Casey, where she also strongly believes that if the second prince winds up becoming in, that there's already issues in the fact that her kingdom, well, where she's at, the land that she's uh the noble at does not get um heavily recognized because of where it's at. She also doesn't get heavily recognized because the nobles have to do the same thing that the poor people do. Being noble and being common means absolutely no doesn't mean anything there. And so it's like, oh, okay, that's actually very interesting. So it makes absolutely no difference for them whatsoever. Um, but because of that, they get no help. Earth Dragon winds up attacking the academy, which we know Monica winds are taking care of, but no one knows that. They all think just this random magician who takes care of it, who also gets no further story whatsoever into him. He gets introduced. We get we hear that he actually has an extreme amount of mana, surprisingly, apparently, probably more than Monica has. But other than that, we know nothing else about this guy. It's like he just all of a sudden dropped off. We we we barely see him. Anyway, um, but they wound up getting Casey's uh land gets no help whatsoever. They get attacked, they have to fend off for themselves, type of thing. So it's become a big a pretty big issue for her to try to figure things out, and so she's under the assumption that the second prince wants taking the throne, that she's gonna get absolutely no help at all whatsoever. And so it's like, huh, that's not actually true, but you don't know any better because instead of voicing your opinion to the second prince to see what's gonna happen, you just automatically assume and did this well planned out, mind you, assassination attempt. It wound up being the point that, like, literally only Monica would have known about the ropes. Like, other people would have known the ropes were cut and be like, oh dang, this was staged. Somebody was trying to attack them. Someone had cut the ropes, but only Monica would have found out that no, it was Casey that did it because the way it was cut, it was set to fall within a certain amount of time. She just misjudged the numbers. So it's like it's the most random lore drop in the middle of the season, and then we don't revisit it again. I'm like, why would you do that?

SPEAKER_02:

Check off threads, those loose threads, uh but uh yeah, like see, unless we if we don't get a second season, then that's a perfect reason to go ahead and pick up that monk. But uh, one more character. Uh well, there is one character from the student council, uh, Bridget, but I don't think she really did anything. Um yeah, I don't I don't think she really did anything. Um one other character that I'm gonna talk about, and then we can just go ahead and close this out. Um Lana. Now, Lana is Monica's first friend at the uh Academy. She was interested in fashion and always kept up to date with uh trans. She's the daughter of the uh Baron Colette, who's the wealthy merchant. Her classmates call her Noble Rich. Which is like basically saying that uh, oh, you uh recently came into money, but you're not from old money, apparently. Just to mock her since her family, yeah, like I just said uh her nobility, their nobility uh is thanks to their wealth as a in other words, it's like saying basically Lana's getting picked on for her family like being like self-made instead of like coming from this long line of nobility. And thanks to her mercantile background, Lana has an eye portrayed and also good at rhythm like Monica. A kind girl at heart, she considers Monica to be her best friend and is always willing to help her out, despite being none the wiser to her friend's true identity or her mission at the academy. And I really like Lana's attitude towards those girls, but hey man, like listen, like I ain't stunned up by I'm confident in myself and social you, Monica. So don't even worry about them. I like I really like Lana. Like I kind of wish, kind of like with uh Isabel, I kind of wish uh Lana was in the picture a little bit more. But you know, I kind of I like what she represented as a character to where, like, yes, she's a noble too, but it's almost it's kind of like how people who are either make a whole lot of money doing streaming or something like that, or if they're like a celebrity, a movie star, TV star, whatnot, and then they're looking down on the people who got rich based off like say they won the lottery. So I'm like, oh, you ain't so you rich, but you ain't like us rich. And I'm like, why you know why exclude me for that? Like, why ostracize me for that? Like, you know what I mean? But uh Kokatsu Tuck, you got anything you want to add on to Lana's character?

SPEAKER_05:

No, I ain't got nothing I want to add about Lana. I ain't even like Llama.

SPEAKER_04:

Really? Okay, that's that's crazy.

SPEAKER_05:

Lana Lama candidate.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh my god, you hate her. Lana's not that bad of a character.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, I kind of hoping that she's not because I'm pretty sure all these girls like underage, so oh my god. Hey, uh I'm kind of hoping she's that. Yep, she is. She is not. She's 16. She says she's 16.

SPEAKER_05:

No, she's like 100 or something.

SPEAKER_02:

No, she's not.

SPEAKER_06:

She is no, she's 16.

SPEAKER_05:

I mean, well, she wasn't a bit mummy hair in the day, anyway. I'm just saying. I was just saying. I thought she was like 100 or something.

SPEAKER_04:

I don't know why. No, she has not discovered no eternal youth or nothing like that. That's why she was the perfect person to go undercover into the why she's so strong, bro.

SPEAKER_02:

Nah, look, no, see that's the thing, like um Todd. She's a master. Like, where it's like, she's just that smart, where it's like, she's so smart that imagine being so smart that you gradually call it.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, you say Todd's mouth. Yeah, like TJ Henderson, a super intelligent, a fine young general. But the high school.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, think of it like he was the world. I'm like, hey man, you so smart you was able to go to high school, uh, just like that. Like he gives you like that surprise.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05:

Hey, clip this. Somebody clip this.

SPEAKER_06:

It's a smart guy. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04:

But no, bro, I'll also say, look, uh, Great Gatsby is kind of the biggest thing that I would want to do a comparison here into this one. Remember, Great Gatsby, the whole premise of that whole movie was old money versus new money type thing. Right. And the thing about it is that she is considered new money. You know, she's not from a normal high-class family, she's new to it. And because of that, she gets heavily discriminated against. But when you really see it, she is probably one of the most noble people there. She doesn't get along well with Claudia because she's more of an outspoken as it is, but she still holds herself into high class regards. She still does things like what a high-class noble would do. In fact, she does it uh a lot better than a lot of other people would assume, to be honest.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. That's the thing, is like I like I like blind. I like that in the aspect where like it's crazy how like she's new money, but she's acting more classy than anybody else that's come from old money. You know what? That's that's kind of what I like to wear, like what I notice in nowadays where you see a whole bunch of people in their 20s becoming millionaires, and they're already talking like they're out of touch. Like, they have no idea what it's like to have um be working on hell. Some of them never worked a day in their life, like they just started streaming and they just started making a whole bunch of money. Okay, good for them. I'm not no shade or anything, but like at the same time, it's like crazy how like they underestimate how some of how to live with less. Like, bro, like there's people out there that will never know what it's like to make less than 30 grand a year. Like, they'll never know what it's like to uh make less than that.

SPEAKER_05:

And what you mean you don't have no grapeful wow?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, like you know how like some folks I'm on, I don't want to uh be sexist or anything, but like I saw this one video to where like uh some women going on there talking about uh how much money do you think the average man makes? And they're talking about shit like they talking shit like, oh uh, I assume they make it like a hundred thousand a year, two hundred thousand a year, shit like that. And then they actually tell them the number, like, oh wow, dang, like I didn't know it was that much, and like yeah, and then not only is that the average, but there's a lot of people, a lot of people, women too, that makes way less than the average. They're like, whoa, hold on, like, I see, yeah, that's the thing about that. We're like, some folks, excuse me, some folks go around not knowing what it's like to um finally come into money. Like a lot of people had to grind for their money, but um, some folks were just born into it, so they don't know what it's like to uh struggle. They don't know what it's like to get that sleep sandwich. They don't know what it's like. I try to think of all the struggle with sandwiches. The sleep sandwich.

SPEAKER_04:

Sleep sandwich, yes.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, you got a filter feed.

SPEAKER_04:

We are very accustomed to the sleep sandwich. We we know about them, bro.

SPEAKER_05:

If I get reincarnated, and I'm first of all, I hope I'm black. But if I get reincarnated, bro, and I'm with a broke family, I'm not broke again. Don't let me be no baby, bro.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know. No, no, no, no. See, that would that would be my bill of art to where I reincarnate knowing about my past, like just be broke again. No, no, I didn't make I didn't make my money.

SPEAKER_05:

You know what? Marvel riddle me serious. I'm I'm evil now.

SPEAKER_02:

No, no, you're talking about great gas, you like no, I'm gonna be dead like that too. It's like low key. I'm gonna be doing a fucking criminal game. I'm gonna get my money looking. Hey, everybody else, hey, hey, hey, stop stop asking the wrong question. Like, don't worry about where this money comes from.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, as soon as I look around at the baby. See, I'm broke. I'm living in a shack or something like that. You might as well title my anime Reincarnated as a Demon Lord. I'm killing everybody, man.

SPEAKER_02:

That was I won't tell anybody that won the lottery, but there will be some.

SPEAKER_04:

That's another broken poor person, so I became a demon lord. I can see the title now.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, that is good. If I pull up in the DeLorean, you know what I mean? You already know what the you know what?

SPEAKER_02:

Crazy enough. Um that's a good one.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm like, where's my flux capacitor?

SPEAKER_02:

No, see, that's literally the plot to that one anime that I was recommending uh last time. Uh I became uh an evil integral at the overlord, some some shit like that. Uh I'm trying to uh think what was that? And that was the plot? No, see, here's the thing. He got reincarnated, right? Because his uh wife was cheating on him with his boss, his boss was uh framing him for embezzlement, his own daughter didn't even like him that much. He ended up um losing everything, like he was like on the brink of death and whatnot. Like he was um set up to be reincarnated, and when he did choose to reincarnate, he became part of this world where there's like magic and mecca and whatnot. But he was like, nah, fuck all that. I'm gonna start my villain art. He literally that he's that's understandable, bro.

SPEAKER_05:

It's completely understandable.

SPEAKER_02:

Hold on, I'm I'm gonna um try to bring up because I did it for anime lightning, but I'm trying to remember the title for it again. As soon as I figure it out, hold on. But uh, Cook Guys, you want to add on to any of this before?

SPEAKER_01:

I figured um the name is anime that I'm trying to look up here.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm just sitting here trying to laugh my behind off is not since uh no, there's really not much to add on to the anime. I mean, we touched based on pretty much all the main important characters. Uh again, like I mentioned, there's a lot of characters that I wish we got more. Um it's kind of sad that we didn't, but it kind of is what it is at this point. The main thing is to just move forward to kind of seeing what happens for season two. What's your rating? Uh okay, oh I got it.

SPEAKER_02:

I I had it, I had it pretty much. Uh, it's on the evil lore of Intergaladic Empire. I just wanted to make sure I had it right. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, I'm gonna check that out right after this.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I give it an 8.5. It got potential. I like it. I mean, I just wish there was like more action to it, and I just hope that if it does come with a season two or whatnot, it just kind of helped uh kind of extend those mystery threads that they love. Because I feel like they like see, my main thing is uh, I know Tucky joined on a little later, but my main thing is the prince himself to where like he kind of knows more than he's letting on, but he's not really uh letting us, the audience, know what he knows. So it's like what's going on. That's what's going on with you.

SPEAKER_05:

The prince ain't stupid, bro.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, like he knows. I'm like, hold on, like you know something.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, you side, huh? Yeah. Oh, damn, you know how to cast spells without using words, huh? Yeah, and you the same size as the the witch I seen in the woods when I was hiding behind a tree. What you think your name was again, Monica? Yeah, yeah, he started being nice to her after that. Hell yeah. My name is Ike, it is.

SPEAKER_04:

We're not talking about the creep factor that this dude has.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh Ike Turner. He didn't say what his last name was. So I'm assuming it was Ike Turner. B her ass.

SPEAKER_04:

Usually the way these anime go is that the prince's last name is the name of the kingdom.

SPEAKER_02:

So yeah, yeah, yeah. He did say it. Uh it was his full. That is true. Yeah. But uh, yeah, like I give it an 8.5.

SPEAKER_01:

It looked it was it was decent. Like, it just I just wish there was a little bit more.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

So for me, tuck what you say.

SPEAKER_05:

Um, it didn't have a lot of baby mamas in it. Um it did have some nice anime art style. The soundtrack I think could have been better. Um, but overall, I do give it about an 8.3.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, fair enough. So I'm gonna say an average of an eight, like a good eight. It was fairly good for what it was.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm really excited for season two. It all the mysteries, bro. That's the only reason that I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, that's it. Alright, is that is that all? Yeah, yeah, that's it. Alrighty, all right. Well, that's it for us on the Secrets of the Silent Witch. Uh, hopefully we get a second season, like we said, and um yeah, let's just go ahead and have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night. And what the hell is that talk?

SPEAKER_05:

My baby mama, she's laid next to me.

SPEAKER_00:

Good lord.

SPEAKER_05:

What the fuck is breaking out of Dr. Mock? This is my baby mama. Did you get a body pillow? Cut off the recording. See a regular pillow. Hold on.

SPEAKER_04:

Cut off the recording.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, uh, stay nerdy. Remember that great things are coming. We're zoning out of here. What the flying fuck talking.

SPEAKER_05:

I got one more. I got that cool too.

unknown:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02:

Cut the recording. Yeah, I'm I'm done. I'm done.
