My Dress-Up Darling (Season 2): Group Cosplay, Love Confessions, and Taking Pride in Your Passions!
Ever feel the thrill of a perfect cosplay reveal… and the sting of a payoff that never lands? We dive deep into My Dress-Up Darling season two with honest affection and sharp critique, weighing the season’s gorgeous craft against an adaptation choice that left fans salty. We talk about what the anime nails—those luminous eyes, the love of process, the practical cosplay know-how—and why the decision to skip the manga’s confession reshapes the entire emotional arc of the finale.
We unpack the slow-burn argument versus the audience promise: is holding back the relationship a smart way to protect the show’s cozy slice-of-life vibe, or a breach of pacing that cuts the wire just before the fireworks? Along the way, we celebrate standout character moments. Himeno’s refusal to abandon his hobby becomes a banner for creative identity and self-respect. Juju and her sister demonstrate how enthusiasm can soften hard lines around group cosplay. Akira’s quiet admiration for Marin gets context through a family history that explains her reserve. And yes, we laugh through misread signals and “energy drink” panic that almost nudges the couple forward.
If you’re here for anime analysis, adaptation debates, and real cosplay tips—wig prep, tape tricks, fit and structure—you’ll find plenty to take into your next build. We close with grounded ratings, a tempered four out of five, and a sincere wish list: let season three open with the courage the characters already carry. If you loved the craft but wanted the confession, press play, join the conversation, and tell us how you’d fix that final beat. What up, gang? My dress up darling season two has concluded. So let's just go ahead and get right into it. Uh Semi Phantom, I do thank you for being on with me for season two. And to be honest, I want to say once again, thank you for bringing it to my attention because honestly, I did want to watch my dress up darling just and just to hear around. So there was this whole bunch of things going on. But you know what? With season two being out, I figured, okay, I might as well give season one a chance. And obviously, I love it. But matter of fact, uh, to the listener, you can always go back and listen to our review on season one. But we're gonna talk about season two, to where honestly, I was really close to thinking it reminds me of Windbreaker, to where season two felt like it could have just been the second core to season one, and y'all could just mash up season one and two together, and it would just be one season, that's fine. But this time around, no. Because season two has a charm that I especially like, but aside from that, it's the usual stuff. Goja and Kitagawa do all these different cosplays, they meet new people. Uh Kitagawa is developing feelings for Gojo. Well, we already established that in season one, but it's now becoming more obvious that she likes Gojo for more than a friend. But the thing was that Gojo is more focused on helping her as a friend. But I can tell that the way he looks at her when she does her cosplay, it's like you know, he has his hobby with making uh the Hina dolls. But it's like when he sees Peter Girl on stage with her outfit on, uh, especially when she was cosplaying as buddy from the Oran High School Host Club um knockout, which by the way, I find it funny since Sebbie here is working on that. Um he already got it edited and whatnot, so you want to hear that soon. So I thought it was funny because, like, okay, team wanted to do Orin High School Host Club, and I'm like, okay, cool, I'm cool with that. Go ahead and run with that. And then I'm watching the season, I'm like, what a coincidence. But um, there is one thing, at least one thing, that I want to talk about with this season in particular. But before I even get into all that, Sebi, I want to hear your thoughts on season two. How do you feel about season two of my dress of film?
SPEAKER_01:So I thought season two was very like it followed the manga pretty pretty good. Um, I enjoyed it up until the last episode. That last episode, unfortunately, got me disappointed. Um, if you haven't read the manga, there's a scene where they actually confess their love to one another. Like, it's full-on like confession. However, it wasn't there. Like, there were scenes in the manga that that they just totally cut out. And when I watched it, I was so frustrated because I'm like, so are they gonna do it? Are they gonna do it? Nope, they're not gonna do it. Well, I was happy up until then.
SPEAKER_04:You see, now that now that you see that, that's why I was wondering, like, dang, I gave my dress of darling season one uh five stars, and season two, for some reason, I was getting a four bobby. Like, I don't know why. Like, I was thinking, like, okay, um, I still like it the same, but why that? Why am I feeling like it's a nine out of ten now? Like, you know what? That's probably what it is. Even though I didn't know that, I'm like, something about her. I'm like, like, it was almost like something was missing. And I'm like, that's what it was. Because you know, that's for now, it's where it seemed like she was going to uh confess to Gojo, but she was like, nah, instead, uh, uh, you wanna take a selfie? And I'm like, Kidigawa, come on now, come on now. Like, that was the perfect moment with that sunrise, sunset. Um, I don't, I forgot what day time of day it was. I think it was sunset. But, you know, the move was just right and she could have just gone ahead and said it. But I I'm thinking my theory, since it's the anime adaptation, I'm guessing they kind of want to slow cook that route because right now it's more about them working together with the cosplays. Now, I am disappointed that okay, there was supposed to be a confession at that point where there's like they're both acknowledging that they have feelings for each other, but dang, I have mixed feelings about it because on the one hand, it's like I hate that it should have happened sooner, but it kind of makes sense as far as the will they won't they scenario that we're so used to in the media, where okay, let's just slow burn the possibility of them getting together. That way it'll be more entertaining to where, like, okay, uh, we don't want uh them to get into this relationship, and then you know how I'm sorry, I'm kind of uh going on for a moment. I kind of don't want to do a Kokiasu, but uh but it's like it's just coming to me to where you know how Disney movies, how way back in the day, I mean not just Disney movies, but a lot of them, but Disney is a primary suspect or culprit behind this, where they will slow burn the will they, won't they dynamic between the female lead and the male character that she has feelings for? It's like you kind of know that they're gonna end up hooking up at the end, but they don't tell you what happens after they get together. Except some cases, like say Mulan, where you see Mulan 2, you see how Mulan and Shane have relationship problems, but then again, those relationship problems were being uh instigated by Moose because he doesn't want the whole family thing getting mixed up where all he gets kicked out if Shane's family marriage is Mulan, but you know, they it they worked it out, but that's beside the point. The point being is that you normally don't see the relate the couple actually getting together until the series or the movie is over, so you don't have to worry about any problems that you might have uh after they get together, and I think that's what the anime is trying to avoid to where, okay, if we give them the relationship, there's gonna have to be some drama to a point where okay, maybe they just stopped working on cosplay together for suffection. I don't know. I didn't read the monga yet. That's what makes it all so surprising to me. But at the same time, it's bound to happen anyway. So why even delay the inevitable, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01:No, absolutely. I I definitely I understand what you're saying. With with my dress up, darling, we were promised a bunch of like the scenes from the manga, but unfortunately, um, and this is coming from I'm in a Reddit group for my Dress Up, Darling.
SPEAKER_04:It was oh not Reddit, yes, Reddit.
SPEAKER_01:I'm a Reddit girl.
SPEAKER_04:Not Reddit.
SPEAKER_01:Oh yeah. Let's not go into that, JB.
SPEAKER_04:Let's not go to that.
SPEAKER_01:Um, but it was a lot of people that I've been talking, it's they state that the second season has failed to meet expectations. And when I finally got to watch that last episode, I'm like, yeah, uh I can see it. And unfortunately, in my opinion, in this main, unfortunately, making people mad, it has turned into the biggest disappointment in the anime season so far. Because the manga it's the manga ends out at a beautiful note. The last the last um chapter, like the whole ending of this manga shows them getting married.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, makes sense.
SPEAKER_01:They were they she had they had a traditional wedding, it was gorgeous. They had a colored page at the end, it was beautiful, but when this manga ended, and the anime ended because they kind of ended around the same time, we expected it to kind of reflect, and I know some animes tend to deviate from the manga cough cough black butler, but we're not gonna talk about that.
SPEAKER_04:Well, we will talk about it next month, though.
SPEAKER_01:Fantastic. I have words for that, but that's I have words, but I just felt disappointed because I was expecting to see a scene and I didn't get it, and as of right now, there isn't any future notice telling them, yeah, we're gonna continue it. So we're kind of just stuck.
SPEAKER_04:It's like it's a season two curse where you're like, okay, you got season two. I'm like, okay, cool. Where's season three? I'm like, y'all want a season three? Like, uh, yeah, like you can't just end the anime adaptation based off, oh, let's take a silver together.
SPEAKER_01:What I literally just finished talking about that when I um when I did Oran High School Host Club, which will be out here soon, that ended as a 27 episodes, only one season, and there was only the first like 11 books. There's still more books.
SPEAKER_04:Wait, how many books?
SPEAKER_01:I think like 50, 51. And everyone's been like, where's the season two? Where's the season two? Orange High School Host Club ended at like 200 like nine or ten. We're never getting a season two.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, okay, I see. I see crazy enough. This is like, okay, it's from an anime adaptation point of view. I guess you can say this is how I feel about no game, no lights, where it's like, okay, season one was great. Where's the next season? I'm like, what next season? And then Deadman Wonderland. Ooh, that still makes me we're gonna talk about that next month, too, by the way. But ooh, that one wait, is it next month or November? Either way, it's gonna happen this year. But ooh, ooh, that made me mad. Where I was like, okay, I watched the 12 episodes, not bad, not bad. I read the manga, they not only cut out a lot of shit that happens after that, they not only cut out a lot of shit that happened before the first episode, which is important for Gonza, the main character, and the characters that was affected by the events of the red man, but even worse, that Shiro was going to admit to Gonza that she was the red man, but before even that, it cuts up to oh, by the way, I'm the increase. What? Oh, please reboot that shit because y'all had no business ended it on that note.
SPEAKER_01:Yurian Ice is a prime example for that. That one made me so frustrated. We got one season, that was it. We were promised, yep, everyone. Congratulations, we're getting a movie, we're doing it now. Two months later, by the way, we've decided to cancel the movie. We had everything planned out, second season. We had a movie, we had OVA, we had it all for them to go. Unfortunately, we're gonna cancel everything. Sorry guys, you guys are stuck for one season.
SPEAKER_04:It's starting to sound like a January review that you can take the lead on it if you want to. I don't know about if I'm gonna review it myself, but like that sounds interesting. Like, if you ever do a review on it, like it's it feels like a January review.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah, ice skating. Sports animes are a weakness, other than my slice of life addiction, sports animes, uh couldn't go no basketball, all of it.
SPEAKER_04:So you definitely need to collab with uh Mira Jane more because he definitely likes sports anime too. That's why I'm like, okay, we need to compile a list for y'all to like work on, but uh yeah, I have mixed feelings about how anime adaptation be cutting corners from the manga. Like, see, that's why I kind of appreciate Full Middle Alchemist Brotherhood, where they're like, okay, hold on, let's go back to formula, let's be more faithful to the manga. And look, look how it is. It's like, hell, people barely talk about the original anime adaptation, but brotherhood, brotherhood is so fucking golden, and that's what happens when you stay faithful to the manga. People love that shit. I mean, granted, they'll know the events of happening in manga because you know they read the manga, but it's like they appreciate the fact that the anime studio went as far as to like, okay, let's at least at the very least, let's not cut out parts that are like important to the park. Such as, oh, we were supposed to get a confession, but instead, we get them taking a selfie with each other. I'm pretty sure that phone kind of cracked, like, because the way he was like blowing in the air, it was like, oh, I really hope it didn't end up falling off that building and she ended up needing a new phone, but she just got that selfie. Like, it's bad enough that she's trying to um go into that photo booth with him and like, wait, we didn't get a um photo of each other yet, and then um the boys from the class showed up and uh like oh shit, y'all take a picture?
SPEAKER_03:I was like, you probably like damn.
SPEAKER_04:I kind of fell for Key to go, but it was kind of funny.
SPEAKER_01:I'm just saying, if we can get a to we have a full website, um, it's called Best of All Anime. They're the creators of my Joseph Darling. They created an entire website with staff, cast, characters, music, radio, all of it dedicated to this show. We couldn't get a confession scene, just saying, just saying. We got a whole website, it's got movable buttons, you can click things, you can see pictures of all the news, all the introductions, the stories, and it's gorgeous, but we can't get a full confession scene.
SPEAKER_04:That's another thing, like that's a weird note to where we can you imagine if they did do that, like if we did get that full confession scene and they said, Oh, by the way, no more seasons after this. I'm like, I don't know, bro. Um like, see, that's the thing. Outside of that, I still like this season, but I am now pissed off that that's how they ended season two.
SPEAKER_01:You know, I I would have been fine if like they have the confession scene, and then you know, they have the credits, and then at the end of the credits, we just have their scene of them getting married, you know. Like, I probably would have been okay with that type of thing, not to the point where it's like, let's take a selfie. Like, I would have been totally fine if we got an a little bit longer of an episode where we could just see the the wedding, like a little tidbit of it, you know.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, and really what habits where okay, um, leading up to like in end credits, it's like you see all the cosplays he does and whatnot, you know, kind of like uh I wanna say then but no, I'm thinking of a different anime, but like you know how it's the song is playing, and you see all the different characters doing different things, and it just kind of goes off like that. But then the end credits show that oh, um, Gojo and Kidigo was going through all these cosplay events and whatnot, and they're killing it and whatnot, and then it leads up to the marriage, maybe a kid. Yeah, I'm like, okay, cool, cool, cool.
SPEAKER_01:In in the manga, that's kind of what happens almost, is that at the last and final um manga like the book, it shows that they got married, the colored page, and then it kind of hinted to them having a kid. Like it it was gorgeous. The manga is simply gorgeous. I just wish maybe maybe just a little bit more effort in the last episode. But again, I totally agree with you. I thought the anime was cute, it was adorable. I I loved the first season so much, it was a five out of five for me. Coming on to the second season, I was fine, fine, fine. Up until that last episode, that dropped me down a little bit.
SPEAKER_04:So I feel uh, but there, oh yeah, before I forget, there is one thing I definitely want to talk about. My favorite part about season two, uh, the male cross-dressing cosplayer Himano. Yes, okay. First of all, I like him, I respect him, but my favorite part of this whole season is when you get the backstory where, yeah, he did this for a while, and he had that girlfriend, and she was like, What are you doing with these frilly clothes? Are you irritating the little woman like no? I won't wear these clothes. Oh, you think I'm stupid, huh? Oh, you you expect me to believe that you run around with these frilly clothes, these little cute girl clothes, and I'm like, Yeah, it's my hobby. Like, I love doing it. Uh uh-uh, get rid of all this shit. You're not gonna be some cross dresser and whatnot. And then, like, even though he didn't actually say in the backstory, but I just love how when it's like, oh well, uh, yeah, she told me to get rid of the clothes and whatnot. She didn't really like it. And you know, at that moment, you know what I did? I told myself, you know what, no, I'm not gonna get rid of the clothes. In fact, I'm gonna get rid of you. You dumped the bitch. Y'all like, hey, you know what? I respect that because he stood on business when it came to his hobby. It's like, hey, listen to the listener of this episode. Do what you love, even if people are gonna pick on you, or see, that's what I love about doing the podcast. That's why I like doing this nerd shit, you know, playing video games, watching anime, whatnot. Hey, I love it. I just love it. And I got picked on a lot for liking anime and playing video games. And you know what? That didn't stop me from keeping on loving it. I'm just ignoring them. I'm gonna still rock this shit until I die. And you know what funny thing is? Some of those people used to pick on me for suddenly liked anime and they playing video games. Oh, oh, oh, now you see. Now you see. All right, Ben. But it's all good. Like, point being if you love something, stand on business for it because you can't have this weak foundation to where you can just throw away what you're super passionate about just because one person disapproved. I'm like, it just tells me you don't have enough passion in your spirit if it's that easy, just throw away something that you claim you love. Like, I'm sorry, like I just see, like I don't know about any of y'all, but like I just can't stand the idea of being in a relationship or in a marriage with someone who's not cool with me being this nerdy. Like, I'm just gonna look at you like, hey, I guess you just knocked them off for me. Because there's a lot of nerdy girls out there that probably appreciate me. I mean, we might be a little competitive as far as like certain interests and whatnot. Like, you know, like uh if we have the sing interests or like playing video games, and oh, she just had to be better at me at certain video games, but I heard something the shit out of her in other video games. Hey, that's just gaps that we fill with each other. It's like sometimes she's better at me at some things, sometimes I'm better at her at some things, but we're not that competitive with each more like uh healthy competition, you know, like kind of keep the uh relationship alive outside the bedroom, you know what I mean? Because that's another thing where I can't stand the idea of I'm sorry, I'm ranking again, Sevy, but uh uh I hate this idea of how men and women can't even be friends. Like, I don't like that. Like that just tells me, you mean to tell me y'all don't have anything in common with each other to a point where oh, the only reason why y'all even fuck with each other is because y'all kind of want to smash, or if you're uh already smashing or not, like you know what I mean? Like it's almost like y'all don't even treat each other like friends, even when you're in a relationship. It's more like, oh, well, you know, she kind of or he kind of fills a void that I was missing, and I'm like, uh-uh, nah. Like, see, I gotta have I gotta vibe with my girl outside the bedroom. Otherwise, I might as well buy I might as well get Isakai into the apothecary diaries world and be like let me let me find a concubine that'll entertain me.
SPEAKER_01:I was gonna say, if we don't goon together, then I don't want it. And I don't want if if if we don't have like I'm not saying we gotta like have attraction over the same things, but if I can't go and say, man, that anime girl has giant boobs, and we're both looking at it, I don't I don't want it. Because I have to say, the relationship me and my husband have are kind of almost similar to what um Gojo and Maren kind of have. He's kind of you know, the shy awkward type of dude.
SPEAKER_04:Not like my type of dude.
SPEAKER_01:And then you have me, who's I've cosplayed before. I've I've got the weirdest interest ever in life.
SPEAKER_04:That makes sense now you bring that up because think about it. It's like the introverted guy is married to the extroverted girl. That makes sense.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my gosh, that is so this I always want to go out, I always want to go do stuff, I want to go to festivals, I want to go hang out with people, and then he goes, I'll just set up my computer playing video games all day.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that sounds about right.
SPEAKER_01:You can go out, and then when I'm like, but I want to go out with you, and then he's gonna go, Well, I guess I can go with you anyway, and then he's just kind of on his phone, even though he's trying to have a good time. Oh but he just he just has he he's kind of an introvert loner type of dude. So if he just comes out with me, I don't really care.
SPEAKER_04:Just just tell him, okay, I don't know dude like that, but like if it's like any other relationship, there's two words that will have him on his toes. Just say you're going on a girl trip. Because uh uh uh like what you mean you're going on a girl trip, right? Because usually that's uh I mean, not to say, not to make any implications, but if you want him to go somewhere with you, I'm like, oh fine, I'll just uh go out with the girls, like what hold on, like what y'all doing? Because, like, you know, sometimes your friends just be having you doing single people things that you're not supposed to be doing. But I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm like, I'm just saying it's like you want them to go with you on something? I'm like, oh well, fine. I'll just go with my girls and like maybe have some fun. I'm like, what's the gonna do? I I don't know, I don't know if I trust y'all since the point.
SPEAKER_01:I normally just say you I'm going people watching, and he goes, All right, let's get in this car. Let's go people watching. Yeah, so we can we can just sit there and go, why did that person wear those types of shorts? I don't like the way their hair is, just kind of judging people for no reason.
SPEAKER_04:Imagine him like staring at you really close to your face and be like, You like what you see?
SPEAKER_01:Not gonna lie, he's done it before. Oh my gosh, I just imagined him doing that.
SPEAKER_04:But yeah, um, about my grips of darling, what else about it? Oh yeah, um, I did think it was kind of cute when uh Juju, uh Juju, uh, I forg I don't forgot how to pronounce it. I think he's pretty much Juju. But, anyways, uh Kidegar was gonna invite her to this whole coffin group cosplay thing, and I like that iconic where she as mid-sentence, Kidigal was like, Would you let it join? No. I'm like, What thing? Like, you didn't even let me on finish my sentence. But then the sister comes along, and then she was like, Oh my god, you doing popping cosplay?
SPEAKER_03:That's so amazing! Like, oh, the different outfits, blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_04:And then Yuji was like, Nah, I said no, because I ain't with that shit. Like, it was one thing the one time in season one, but I ain't really with the whole group cosplay stuff. And then the sister was like, Oh, okay, I'm sorry, my bad. And then she's just looking, just looking all devastated, and then that just made Juju feel so guilty. I'm like, why are you looking at me like that? Don't stop looking at me like that. Well, I I ain't doing it, like you can't make me do it.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, surprise. She convinces her anyway. Yeah, bro, not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_04:It's like, dang, like, it's just hard to say no to that cute thing to where like she just seems so happy doing all this shit, and then Juju's like, damn, I can't I just I just can't stand to see her at all. It's like she's more like you gotta protect her uh at all costs, you know. The cute character, you know, like protect her at all costs, such characters. Oh yeah, like you gotta protect that small at all costs.
SPEAKER_01:Protect her at all costs. But uh St. Jan is so cute. Oh my gosh, I love her eyes.
SPEAKER_04:Uh that's that's another thing with the anime. Well, once again, it's mainly the eyes that gets you like it's that's the thing, like my dress of darling, it kind of plays out like almost like the a normal anime, like the running mill anime, but they they do such a good job adding necessary, well, not I won't say necessary, but more like added detail to certain elements at the right time. Like when Kita Garr was gonna do her cosplay as buddy from the knockoff for in high school uh cosplay, and then she looks at Gojo uh telling him that she's gonna win, and you can see the eyes like shining and sparkling bright, and just like, you know what? I believe you. Like they add great detail when it counts, and that's what I like about it. Like, you have all this attention to detail and these minor details, but oh sure, let's gloss over the confession scene.
SPEAKER_01:Exactly. You have their artwork is gorgeous, it's beautiful. The eyes they pop out, everything about it, the little sparkle details in the hearts. But I can't get a confession.
SPEAKER_04:Even the opening and ending scene were pretty cute, like fairly cute. Yeah, but I'm like, you can't get that press 16 off.
SPEAKER_01:Alright, then I'm salty. I'm not gonna lie. I'm salty.
SPEAKER_04:Uh oh yeah. Uh one more character. Uh the girl that was doing the OC characters. Like, not gonna lie, I kinda uh blanked out for her art, but all I know is that she just did not want to be anywhere near Kidigo. And I forgot why.
SPEAKER_01:What was what was the reason why again? Uh I wrote it down my notes. Hold on, so sorry. So many new.
SPEAKER_04:I'm trying to figure out what was her deal again. Like, she was perfectly fine um working with Goja up until she saw Kidigo, and all of a sudden she's like, oh, she's like kind of clammed up, like she just retreated to her shell and whatnot. But when Kidago is not in the room, oh, she opens wide up again. And I'm like wondering, oh, what's the deal? Like, what's going on? Like, you got some history with Kidigo?
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh. I'm still looking for it.
SPEAKER_04:Oh good. Oh my gosh. I did think it was kind of cool, uh, where it's like it wasn't completely original, but I like the whole Yakuza vibe that I was getting from her where she was like wearing a hoodie and the katana. Like I thought it was cool, just you know, I just thought it was kind of weird that she just did not like Kiligo, and we just had no uh prior knowledge of why she didn't want to be near her.
SPEAKER_03:But um, what else about this anime that I like?
SPEAKER_04:Um well, that's but oh wait, wait, wait. Uh Juju with her two friends, like they also reinforce the same thing with Himano to where hey yo, like people are gonna love anime and manga and whatnot. And if you come across people who make you feel bad about life and what you like, then maybe those people aren't forced. And I'm like, you know what? I fuck with that. Fuck with that. I do. Still looking.
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_01:I really am. I wrote because I wrote so much information down. I knew I was gonna have a lot to talk about. So I kind of wrote the way I write things down, is like I write a character, what their background is, and then I go into like who's their favorite, like what their like relationship is. So I'm trying to find what character this is. Cause I'm blanking.
SPEAKER_04:Um I'm trying to remember her name. Uh Akura. Wait, no, is it Akura?
SPEAKER_01:That's the that's the person that was helping them make no yeah, it was the one to make proper.
SPEAKER_04:No, okay, it's not her. You found it.
SPEAKER_00:Um yes, Akura Ogata. Yeah, her yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Marin and Akura didn't like get along together. They she always tried to like avoid her, but it they were like Akura was a huge fan of Marin because of her black Lobelia coff cosplay. So she always got nervous around her. But in the end, you know, she considers Marin princess and buys every single issue of the magazine, I would do the same in which Marin appeared. So in reality, she it she was shy. She she loved Marin. I do too.
SPEAKER_02:That's what it was.
SPEAKER_04:Damn, that's kind of crazy because it's almost like you would think offices would attract, but it's like uh she while she's shy, she's the extrovert in this situation. Like Kid Joe is the extrovert in this situation, and it's almost like dang, I don't know if I can keep up with the energy though.
SPEAKER_01:Well, she's all um I can't always had that um silent type because of her childhood. Her parents threw away her manga in anime even and um that it made her go like silent because that's what her dad did. So she just moved away from everything but still stayed that quiet personality.
SPEAKER_00:So that's her at now.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, uh something that did happen uh between episode nine and ten, where uh Gojo was getting prepared for the coffin cosplay event and going as far as buying a bunch of energy drinks uh to be prepared, but Kidigawa thought he was buying aphrodisiacs, and that was so funny. She thought, oh, he is he planning on making a move on me, and then he came to find out, oh, it was just regular uh energy drinks, and he was really trying to play and beat coffee, and then now she's like, Oh, so he wasn't interested. Okay, and then like the next day, she just gets to a depression and tries to hide it from Gojo. I'm like, oh damn, like she she really wanted to too, but it was like, oh dang, like I'm starting to get depressed that he doesn't want me like that.
SPEAKER_01:But she's determined. No matter what, she's determined, she's determined to confess her love that we did not get.
SPEAKER_04:That made me mad because that's the honestly, that was the last moment I definitely remember. Well, aside from the Ashwald cosplay event, like I remember that much with the uh dinner where uh GUG was having a hard time looking at the fact that she was, even though like it was just like props, like it wasn't real, but it was made to look real, where it's like the eyeball and the blood, like it's supposed to be edible or whatnot, but she was just like just can't stand gore that much. So and she did not, she was not prepared for the other half of what happens in Calvin. So like the rest was like a surprise, but yeah, like I remember that much where she felt a little rejected that oh like, so what you don't want to do, like but almost like um, like you never gave me like that's another thing. Like, Kidagarwood was so good at hiding the fact that she had those feelings for Gojo that she was friend zoning herself. That's what that's kind of the main problem is right now, to it. Right now, Gojo is under the impression that, oh, he's just helping her with the cosplay, and they're good friends, but nothing beyond that, maybe a little attraction, but he's trying to be respectful at the same time. Uh but meanwhile, it's like she's being a little shy. Well, that's the funny thing. She's so extroverted and like she seems so bold, except when she's trying to confess her feelings for Dojo. But that's the only time where it just feels like she keeps folding and like doing the whole, oh, I have something to tell you. I'm like, oh, what is it? I'm like, oh nothing. I kind of hate that trope, but I kind of understand where if you want to prolong the relationship, you uh can't rush into the relationship part already. But then again, if it was supposed to happen by now, then yeah, I can understand why people would be upset because it was supposed to happen then. But I guess now if we do get a third season, we're just gonna have to wait longer. Wouldn't it be crazy if we get the confession after all that? Like season three just opens with the confession. Can you imagine that?
SPEAKER_01:That would be so better. That would be so nice. I want that. I want that so bad. Because and I went back through my notes, they do have a kid together. Her name is Nikina. Nikia? Nikki Nikia, whatever. They have a toddler, she's three, and she's got the personality of her dad. No, she looks identical to her mother except for the hair. She has her hairs like her like her dad. But she she got her uh shy trait from her dad. Oh, it's so cute. I need more of this anime. Give me like four more seasons and I'll be happy.
SPEAKER_04:I feel that. Oh, one more thing I do appreciate about this anime to where one it becomes more obvious in this season, but you kind of do get some insight and some tips on cosplay itself, where uh, like for instance, uh uh Himano tells Gojo and Kidigo you can equip boobs so you can go to this shop that specialize in cosplay. And I like how uh the old man uh he was helping out Gojo and he was like, Yeah, I'm gonna buy these clothes, please. And I'm like, uh he didn't say it with words, but he was looking like, does he plan on wearing this? No, no, the Peter is now it's 2025. If a man wants to wear women's clothes, I'm not gonna tell him he can't. But then he the guy was just like, oh, oh, oh, okay, okay. Excuse me, I gotta mentally switch gears because uh I made a whole lot of assumptions in my head. But no, I kind of like those kind of things where you can actually learn something from this anime to where that's why it's kind of goated for me because I love anime where you can actually learn some real life stuff from it. Like how uh with the invisible tapes and the straps and the way you uh tape your uh the bangs down to the wigs just to make it look more anime-like. Uh, I was like, okay, I would feel like, oh, write it down. Kind of like with uh Delicious in Dungeons or Food Wars, whenever it gives you some insight on how they prep the food, I was like, okay, let me write that out. But uh you know what?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, that's all I got for the most part.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I still I'm still taking it with the nine because you saying that we're supposed to get professional, that's why I keep thinking, like, why do I feel like something's missing from this? Like some like it's just something's making it shy from that five-star treatment I gave it last time. But yeah, I still stand by that four out of five stars, that nine out of ten that I gave it.
SPEAKER_01:I'll go for a four out of five, too. Still disappointed, but it's still a really good anime that I'm not gonna deduct so much points of it. If they give me a confession scene, hopefully in season three, it'll probably go up.
SPEAKER_04:Alright, well, that's all. Well, is that all you got for this season?
SPEAKER_01:That's all I have.
SPEAKER_04:Alright, bad. That is it for our review on my Joseph Darling season two. Uh, it's unanimous that is a four out of five stars from us. I do have one bit of nerdy news that I want to share, especially with you, Steve, since I know you might love this one. Uh the Sims movie apparently is being produced by the same people who not only made the Barton movie, but the Lego movies too.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, I did hear that. And I'm excited to talk about that and watch it. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_04:With that being said, let's just go ahead and close it out. Uh, to the dear listener, have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night. But ultimately, I want you to take it easy, stay nerdy. Remember that great things are coming, and there's gonna be more nerdy news and reviews in the future. So, until then, let's zone up out of here, Zaddy.
