Sakamoto Days: From Legendary Assassin to Family Guy with a Convenience Store
A retired legend runs a quiet corner store, wears bulletproof glasses on roller coasters, and refuses to kill—even with a billion-yen bounty on his head. That’s the spark that powers Sakamoto Days, and we dive straight into why this action-comedy hits so hard without losing its heart. We unpack how a simple vow from Sakamoto to Aoi turns every fight into a smarter set piece—pebbles that slice rifles, coupons and pens that dismantle walking arsenals, and choreography that reads like a puzzle solved in motion. The laughs never cheapen the stakes; they humanize them.
We trace the world’s invisible scaffolding: the Order’s quiet pull, the breadcrumb trail of named killers, and a power scale that sharpens scene by scene. Shin’s telepathy reframes danger rather than erasing it; Lou’s drunken fist mood-swings bring color and timing; Heisuke’s sniper math turns geometry into tension. Then the top shelf: Slur’s ice-veined intent, Gaku’s gamer-bruiser swagger, and Takamura’s “old-man strength” that rewrites the room with a taxi-door entrance and a one-handed block. Nagumo’s shapeshifting mischief rounds out the cast with a fan-favorite chaos that somehow still feels loyal.
Across fights, flashbacks, and near-misses, we keep returning to the same question: what do you owe your past once love demands a different life? That tension fuels the show’s best moments and hints at a bigger storm—three-way faction friction, unfinished history with Slur, and a found family that draws trouble like a magnet. We cap it with a careful nine-out-of-ten and why a patient, confident season two could push it to a ten.
If you’re into kinetic action, warm humor, and characters who choose restraint over edge, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who loves smart fights, and leave a review to tell us your favorite moment—Takamura’s entrance, Gaku’s weapon, or that perfect pebble throw?

What up, gang? Let's talk about Sakamoto days. I like this anime. Like, it's the right amount of high octane action bullshit that not gonna watch. I'm gonna be straight up with you. I was watching both courts. And by the time I got to the second one, you know what? I just put my notes down and I'm like, fuck it. I'm just gonna enjoy it. Like it's so good, it's like, you know what, man, you just kind of ruining the experience by taking all these notes and whatnot. I mean, some things where it's like dialogue heavy to where you might want to take notes, so you definitely make sure that I'm not mistaken anything from it, like misinterpreting or anything. But honestly, suckamoto days is one of those animes where I'm gonna be honest with you, you just kind of turn your brain off and just enjoy it. But again, to some context, and by the way, Playboy, I am glad that you're on for this review because I know you want to talk about Sakamoto Day just like to be hero X. And there's a I'm gonna get to a point where I'm like real crazy that you recommended both of these anime world reviews. But uh, I'll get into it. Hold on. Taro Sakamoto wants a legendary hitman, considered the greatest of them all. Uh, bad guys feared him, assassins revered him. One day he decided to get out of the game, he got married, he had a kid. Now he's living the quiet life as the owner of this convenience store. And the thing about it is after five years of being out of the game, all these assassins and hitmen was like, uh, uh uh, you're getting too comfortable, my dog. You're getting too comfortable. Oh, you think it's you can just walk away from this life, have a wife and kid, like just living ghetto fabulous in this little Ricky Dink convenience store. Nah, dawg, you need a you don't understand. You got a bag on your head now. You got a billion-dollar bag on your head. We coming for that money. Uh uh, Shin, a telepath and former partner of Sakamoto, tries to get uh Taro to back on the field. But when noticing the life Sakamoto left the mob for, he decided to get him, uh he gives up on making him get out of retirement. And then the mob tries to kill Shin, but Sakamoto came to the rescue, gave Shin a job at the store. Aside from liking his new life, Sakamoto refuses to kill because his wife Aoi would divorce him for, which Tara does not want to happen, which is totally understandable. Uh by the way, when they were young, like before they got married and all that shit. I don't know about you, Playboy, but I don't like how Aoi kind of emotionally manipulated Sakamoto into having to change a heart by threatening the killer, so um, because like, oh yeah, you see what happens when people you love die, like do you want them to have it? So, you know, you gotta leave this behind. Like, I just can't be associated with a killer, you know. I mean, that's understandable, but really, like, you're gonna jump off and be like, oh, I mean, yeah, it was like snow and whatnot. Um, she might would have got injured at worst, but I don't think the the fall wasn't even that big of a fall. It wasn't even that deep of a fall. So, like, if anything, it would be more like that one scene from all it's funny to where he probably like sprained, she'd probably like sprain an ankle about it. But no, I don't like how emotionally manipulative that was, but I understand.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it did kind of fuck him up. My first time seeing that shit, like reading that shit, that shit kind of fucked me. I was like, damn, she just jumped off the fucking roof just like no giving no fucks. But then I at first I honestly thought maybe he'd save her on some shit, but then you know, like it played up on some like she just landed in this nose all safe and gave him that little speed or whatever. But I mean my boy fell in love, man. He was the top assassin. He I guess you know, he probably got tired of that life, man. But I I don't know, that was young Sakamoto. My boy loving first sight, you know. That play, you know what that puts to do to you.
SPEAKER_05:That's what I'm saying. I'm like, bro, that gotta be some magical pussy to have him get out of the game.
SPEAKER_02:He probably never had none ever. All he knows was killing.
SPEAKER_05:Oh damn. Well, oh damn.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, think about it.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, like okay, it can go one or two ways. Either he was like so committed to the job that, yeah, you're right, he might not have ever did that, or maybe he might have been one of those assassins to where sometimes every now and then, if he had to like take out a female target and it's like kind of like you know, kind of uh give to the gab, like kind of play on, make it look like, oh well, I'm just gonna play the long game with it. As soon as I catch a slipping, then I kill her. But before, before I catch a slipping, let me lay down this part. It could have gone either way because some assassin do be like that. So like, uh uh uh. I know it's not a strong example, but you remember Harlem Nights with Eddie Murphy and um Richard Pryor? Right, yeah. And you know that girl, like she was trying to kill uh Quit and she was like slept with him first and then was gonna shoot him, but you know, Quit noticed the gun under the pillow before then, so like he was already on to her, but he was like, you know what? Let me hit it um real quick, and then I it could be like that, like it could be like that, but nah, like I wanna believe what you were saying to where like he probably just was the virgin the whole time, man. Who I guess I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, because Sakamoto kind of cool, man. He nonchalant, he just you know, got that aura about him, like that main character energy. Like the you gotta think they always say the legendary assassin. Like this has to tell you something about his prime compared to all the assassins in this whole show. And it's since the beginning of the show, they've been hinting at multiple assassins, like almost every episode, there's they'll say somebody's name who's not even an episode. Like Takamura, they brought up Takamura in the first meeting with the Order, and he didn't show up for a couple episodes. Same with Conor Guri, like rank up his name, like who's that? He don't show up till after you see Takamura come through, you know. So it's a lot of like hinting at more assassins with different personalities, different abilities. So, you know, it's gonna be different types of fights and difficulties, all types of shit, man. So I'm all for this shit, but it's it's kind of like a slice of life for assassins.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, it's like uh action comedy slice of life because it does get like slow moments, but I don't know. I feel like it was like a good blend of okay, they kind of fucking around with the shop and whatnot, like you know, typical family should, and then every now and then some assassin pull up to the shop and I was like, hey yo, I heard Sakamoto's here. Bro, like that one scene, okay. Before I even get to that, let's talk about Sakamoto for just one moment. When you mention his prime, I like how dude is like straight up like Choji Akamichi from Naruto, where it's like, oh, apparently he can like compress all that fat he put on. Like, I don't think he's like even fat for real. It's more like just one of those things where like, okay, he kind of got fat because you know he you know got out of the game. But then again, the way they play it off, like okay, sometimes when something hits him in the cheek and his cheeks are so thick that it kind of bounces off. And bro, like the crazy what the most crazy subtle thing that they did, because there's a whole bunch of crazy shit, right? Like we didn't even get to the crazy shit, but one thing I did like is when they went to the amusement park and buddy got on that road coaster uh with Sakamoto and Shin and the rest of the gang, and he was gonna shoot Sakamoto with Shin giving a telepathic message that hey yo, somebody about to shoot you, and then he turned around just in time for the bullet to hit his glasses, and he was like, bulletproof glasses, really. I'm like, bro, that's actually kind of genius.
SPEAKER_01:Because imagine always prepared, dude. Like, even for a shopkeeper, he's still prepared as an assassin.
SPEAKER_05:Like no, oh, oh, you know what? This dude is like Jason Bourne in anime, where he can pick up literal, mundane, ordinary items and kill you, you know, like how he'll like kind of stab you with um pins or like give it a box cutter or whatnot. Like I feel like I kind of be kind of tense whenever he picks something up. Like, you don't want to like picking up a pebble, and then um he's hazekey. I like hazekey by the way. Uh I'm gonna talk about him in just a moment, but one of these feats that I love about Sakamoto when Hayskey was trying to uh snipe him, and then Sakamoto picked up this pebble, he threw it, and it sliced right through the um rifle, like halfway through. I god damn. See, he there's a theory to where I think in that program that he was in with the order where you know Shan got telepathy and some of them also got their abilities from. I believe he was also experimenting on, but he kind of got that whole Captain America super soldier serum type thing going on to where he gets like a peak human, like he has more strength and speed and whatnot than the average person. Otherwise, like, bro, as big as he is, even at 30 um from his prime, like he can still move around and shit, like he's on some Broly type shit, like big dude. You're thinking, like, oh, he ain't gonna move that fast. He's gonna slide on you so fucking fast.
SPEAKER_02:That's the scary part. Cause like to be that big and move that fast, you know, that's like they teach you that shit in science, bro. Like, that's a lot of mass, that's a lot of force. He like, no wonder he be doing some incredible shit, bro. He be whooping the fuck out of people. I'm about to be surprised they'd be surviving some of the Lent Pass. But I my favorite fight though, as far as with the props and shit he'd be using when it comes to improvising and shit like that, was with um I believe it was Kashima, the deer head guy in the subway, when he said he don't have any weapons, and buddy started pulling guns out of his mouth and arms and shit, and the soccer bottle just pull out a fucking uh a coupon, a mechanical pin, and uh what the fuck? Oh, a bottle cap or some shit. Yeah, some shit, man. Just a bunch of random shit in his pocket. He beat his ass with it. I was like, dog, this is still crazy. Like he reminded me of Jackie Chan.
SPEAKER_05:If Jackie Chan was like, yeah, he he does have that Jackie Chan energy because I swear to God, it's kind of hard to tell if he's even taking the fight seriously. Where he was like, okay, he's trying to make sure that the old foes are like chilling, like they good and all that. Like, dudes straight up throwing old people at him, and then talking about just cashing like, all right, sit him down. Hey, you good, you good, like you need some candy, little boy, you you good, you good. I'm like, he was not worried at all against Koshi. Like, if he was able to uh have time to do all that shit. Uh, who else I want to talk about? Oh, uh Lou. Uh, I like how Lou reminds me uh Roth Lee with the Tysy drunk and fist style fight, where like she could be like a sad drunk, she could be a happy drunk or whatnot, and then she got that mafia style drunk, and I'm like, what the fuck? Uh and it's crazy that they have this whole ranking system to where okay, you can either be like a B rank list uh target or like an A rank, and shit. Uh Sakamoto was considered B, which he was very not, I'm gonna say very upset, but like kind of took he kind of took that personally. I'm like B rank. Like, I've been out of the game for five years and they call me a B rank. Oh, they they assume I was not touched. Okay, I bet I got him, I got him.
SPEAKER_02:Shit, Lou was a rank higher than uh Shin.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, Shin was like what C D rank because they were thinking, oh, he's just a telebound. What can he do? Like he he don't got hands for real. Like, how many people he killed? Like, at least with Lou, like, okay, where drunken fist does, it's like okay, it's believable that he might have killed somebody. But with Shin, it's like your support at best, you're like feel support at best, you're like the burden on the sky, you're like the guy in the chair at best. And then he had to prove himself during the whole uh uh assassin training camp retreat thing that they were doing too. Uh there was this one girl that was related to uh Rion, the other partner that worked with it. It was like Sakamoto, there was Nagamo, and then there was Ryon. And there was like that whole art with that. And I was digging that too, especially uh there was that one kid that was like 14 years old, like he didn't like uh I think he just didn't like being touched. And Shin was like, is this what Gen Z is like now? That one kid with the face mask. I don't know, I don't remember his name though.
SPEAKER_02:It's not Silva, yeah. I think that's I think that was it. Yeah, because that's their brother. The uh that's his brother, the um the one with the the one Shim was fighting earlier with the cloak. Right, right, right. Yeah, yeah, their brother.
SPEAKER_05:Right. Okay, okay. Uh was it? I don't want to get my notes again. Uh but uh what was that? Um, oh okay, K. Let's talk about HSK. He got this bird, uh Pskey, and I just like K SK because this dude is so broke, like he been living in like practical squall. Like he had like this makeshift tent that just blew off the roof, and I kind of feel bad for him for that. But like imagine being so broke that you think with like a billion yen, you're like, ooh, a billion yen? I can finally afford sushi. And then meanwhile, I'm coming home from the job eating sushi, like, damn. I guess I can't complain too much. I'm like, I thought I was broke. I'm like, dog, like, is it that badass? I'm sitting here like Sakamoto, man, give this man a job. Oh god, like why y'all doing my boy hate shit like this? And y'all know how good he is with a gun, too. Like, man, give this man a job. Having him um practically swimming talents for pocket games. Give this man a job.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he had like the um he like one of the best shooters in the um series. I think he had like the highest, the highest rank when they went to go take uh check for the um the best shooters, and there was somebody um there was ranked higher than Sakamoto, and they were trying to figure out who it was, and it was Hayeskay, but he forgot to put his fucking name down on that list.
SPEAKER_05:That was funny, but bro, like he's kind of crazy with those weakest shape bowls for real. Especially when they were going against that one guy that was invisible, um, thinking like, okay, well, I may not be able to see you, but I can hear your uh footsteps and all that shit. I just need to triangulate and you know, kind of use like some geometry, like trigonometry or whatnot, and kind of angle the bullets where he can like kind of at least graze you a little bit. I'm like, damn, he's fucking dangerous with that shit. Like you gotta really be on your toes if he's on you with that scoop. If I if I really needed the security, like, say for instance, like, oh, somebody trying to uh take me out, like I need a sniper that'll take out him. And but uh I hope it's not gonna be like inside job where I get so paranoid where I'm like, okay, well, I got a sniper in case somebody tried to snipe me, but who do I have checking the sniper? Who do I have checking my sniper though? Nah, I'm fucking with you. But uh I did like the development with the prisoners, like there were like four prisoners on getting out of jail, the inmates, and they were going after Sakamoto 2. Uh, I like the black representation between Dump and uh minimalists. Well, now, Dump, I feel like she got that hedgehog dilemma to where she wants to love somebody, but she got like this very I mean, keep in mind with her ability, she kind of like Kimimara where she like protrudes these spikes from her body, but it's like she will like somebody, but only on the condition that they have to be scared out of their lives, and she's like, Oh, I love that look on your face, you look so cute, and then she went, give me a hug. I'm like, uh, I don't know. And the next thing you know, she like impales them out. Oh, you're not cute anymore now that you're dead. I'm like, bitch, you are crazy. Like, I almost feel bad for you, but he just the crazy just overshadows it.
SPEAKER_02:Like she was fucking tripping. Out of all four of them, she probably had the most psychotic logic, bro. Like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_05:I mean, at least with a part, it's like, okay, like you can kind of give him a chance, and they did, so I'm like, okay, he's not all that bad. He was kind of tweaking, but he wasn't that bad.
SPEAKER_02:But uh just like any other villain, as far as like see his backstory is kind of like any other villain, like as far as being a kid and being traumatized. He tried, he was getting bullied. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? Like, it came down to the one person who was keeping him happy, like his like his father, you know what I'm saying? He was happy until until him getting bullied by the kids, and he started tearing apart that damn that damn uh teddy bear, and then he ended up killing a fucking cat or dog, some shit, I think. Yeah, daddy wanna get him checked. He said, nah, he's normal. Normal.
SPEAKER_05:Hell, no, it was like some on some Jeffrey Dahmer type shit to where it was like you you seen Monster from um Netflix, where like essentially the father, he was the one that taught Jeffrey how to hunt and whatnot. And then when all that shit Jeffrey did um leading up to the trial and whatnot, and uh I guess it was like a lawyer or a doctor or somebody, and they was like getting into a bottle of it, and essentially the dad was like in denial. Like, no, I did not teach my son this. I did not teach my son this like technically you did, you just said you didn't know that he was gonna do that on humans. It's kind of like that to where it's like crazy how it traces back to childhood, it always traces back to childhood. Yeah, like they grow up like that, right? It started somewhere, yeah. It comes from somewhere. Like you didn't mean for it to happen this way, but it came from somewhere. But uh oh, I like how I think it's so funny that a part is so OCD when he killed a dude and was looking at his mom collection and he was like, wait a minute, where's volume seven? Like, what the fuck is going on? He went straight to the store, bought volume seven, put that shit on the book of say, Oh my god, okay.
SPEAKER_02:The world that's no serial killer ass shit.
SPEAKER_04:I thought it was so funny.
SPEAKER_02:Like, why why aren't you gone? Why aren't you trying to get away right now?
SPEAKER_05:I'm like, yeah, like I guess once again, like he gotta be pretty confident as an assassin to where I'm like, hey man, ain't nobody gonna take me out. Like, I'm him. Like, I'm good. Uh Saw, the one thing I like about Saul is that he has some oddly accurate dialogue about anime, uh, manga, and movies where it's like, oh well, we can't let it all end too soon. He's like, You're gonna bore the audience or some shit like that. I'm like, hey, yo, you know what? He's not wrong. Like, I it's kind of weird how you use it in this in that context, but he ain't wrong about that part. Uh, one more person, minimalist. All right, here's the dude I want to talk to you about where he reminds me of to be hero X, where we got the revealing next day, right? And we were talking about, we were gigging about X, how he got these reality warping power, how he literally bowled up Dragon Ball into a ball and just threw him in the uh river. This dude, minimalist, and Sakamoto days, he's so strong he will like grab anything he can get his hands on and just bowl it up and shit. And I'm like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_02:You know, it's kind of broken.
SPEAKER_05:That was crazy.
SPEAKER_02:Uh uh him and Nagamo was kind of crazy because I thought that first encounter was actually his wife. Oh shit.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, speaking of which, uh Owie, like when we thought minimalist was gonna kill Aoi, and I thought, oh shit, Aoi got hands. Like, where is that?
SPEAKER_02:That's exactly what I said. I'm like, oh shit. But then I was like, of course.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, that's just Nagamo. God damn. I was like, whoa, I'm like, I had all this kill wrong. But uh speaking of Nagamo, I kind of like Nagumo to where like he considered S-QLAS, he got like shape shifting power. Like, that's crazy too. Like, I mean, you're thinking, like, how is he able to do that if he's just a normal person? But that's just the thing, he's not a normal person. Like, we kind of established that as soon as as soon as I found out Shin was a telepath, I'm like, okay, so there's superpowers in this shit. All right, so him being a shapeshifter, I'm not even surprised. But uh, he's kind of funny to where he'll be like the kind of dude where he'll give you like bad news and be like, ah, I'm just fucking with y'all. And then Shin and Lou would try to beat the shit out of him. I'm like, yeah. Now that's kind of funny. Like, sometimes I'm kind of that person to where I'll just be like fucking with you, like, oh shit, like fam, I'm sorry to tell you this, but something bad happened.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he he'll fucking troll, man. He he he do that through the whole series. That's just how he is. Like even when he fight, he kind of he does that shit. He kind of like one of them characters who don't take the fight serious, but when you see him stop smiling, you like okay, yeah. This the second, this like the second phase of the final boss fight right here. Like when Spider-Man stopped smiling or joking, or you know what I'm saying? Shit like that. Motherfucking locked in for real. That's all they do.
SPEAKER_05:Bro, straight up, I thought he was gonna uh be one of those assassins that try to kill Sakamoto, but in actuality, he was just showing up to this way, you know, hey yo, uh, you know, hey, like we just fucking with each other, just like old times, of course. Like, you know how just fuck with your fam. But hey, yo, for real, though, for real, for real. I heard on the streets that they put a bat on your head. Uh oh, and that second part where they Sakamoto and Sin the gang was trying to infiltrate that building, and they were like, oh, wait, hold on. Um I don't hear, like, normally I would hear people voicing in their heads, but I don't hear any voices. They opened that door, and the only person that was like alive was Nagamo, because keep in mind, somehow with Nagamo, Shin can't read his mind. So it's just kind of crazy how like, oh uh Nagamo's the ones that kill all these men.
SPEAKER_03:Nah, I'm just fucking with y'all.
SPEAKER_05:They were like this when I showed up. Uh but uh, yeah, I'm not gonna lie, that was pretty much all my notes. Like, I like these characters, I love the action. Uh I can't wait for season two. Most likely, we we probably gonna have to wait till like a year or two, like late next year, probably. I don't I don't remember. Like, I think they announced that there's definitely gonna be a season two, but I just don't know when.
SPEAKER_04:But uh boy, you got anything else you want to add on? Uh any more things about Sakamoto or anybody in general that you wanna talk about before it closes out?
SPEAKER_02:Um, I did watch the finale, but we didn't get to talk much about the white-haired. Uh, you know, most animes always have this white-haired OP character that or farms. Oh, uh Slur, right. Slur and Gaku, man, there's we got two of them. And I've been waiting for Goku because he's like one of those. He he kind of reminds me of Garo a little bit from one point, man. He kind of like Shallan just chill, but he's strong. And then on top of that, he's a gamer, bro. Like he likes to play games, so his fighting style is just like this brawler with this weapon, he got a unique weapon. Um, there's like I don't even know what the fuck it is. Like this uh fucking long mace type of weapon, but it he can shoot from it, you know what I'm saying? He he blasted somebody with that bitch. And then um that shit, like honestly, man, Gaku OP as fuck. I think he's like 19 up, I believe. So him and Slur, they um so that's that's what I really want to talk about. So the whole like the whole action behind what's been going on is like a three-way organization fight between Slur, Gaku, and their crew. And then you have Sakamoto's crew with Heiske, Lou, Shin, and then um, I don't know whether to really count Nagumo's there. Because Nagumo is just like one of his like high school childhood friends. So he kind of just didn't like keep him out of the way. That's really why he pulled up, like, hey, just stay out the way and let the order take care of it. So then you have the order in the midst because when Takamura pulled up, who's also a member of the Order, you see he went for both of he went both for um Sakamoto and Slur. You know what I'm saying? Because the order just trying to get anybody who's against JAA out of there. And since Sakamoto have a bounty on his head, and slur just slur just came and killed damn near the whole building. Takamura here to slay anybody. So I wonder what's gonna happen when they find out Nagamo's kind of like helping Sakamoto in a in a sense. You know what I'm saying? Like, I wonder what's like how that's gonna play out.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, you know what? Now that I think about it, you know who Slur kind of reminded me of?
SPEAKER_05:Fucking bitches from how about Bebop. You he had that kind of vibe for me. Like, yeah, he is he was like just stone cold with like cold methodical killer, like ice in his veins. You can even see it in his eyes how soulless they are.
SPEAKER_02:The fact that he had Goku doing all the fighting, though, I just know he could do some crazy shit. We ain't seen it. I know that little shit with Sakamoto was just like a little skirmish. Because you gotta think, even when he went against Sakamoto, he knew. Look, remember when he said um but he you could tell, but it was a lot of shit that went on in Sakamoto's time, bro. Because he he hinted at some shit when he was like, Um, then you could kill me again this time, or something like basically the plan they fought before, and like Sakamoto got the best of them, but he didn't like finish him or kill him or something. Right. You know what I'm saying? So I'm like, okay, okay, so he came back. Sakamoto had been out of shape for five years, so he different his ass. So you know, he's talking in shit, but then sakamura pull though, they can't. Do shit with old man talking we're at man.
SPEAKER_05:Bro, that was kind of crazy where he pulled up. Like you're thinking, like, oh, what this old man gonna do? I'm like, bro, listen, like, if I learn anything, like if an old man with a katana is pulling up to a fight, I'm like, he might know something. Like, I ain't gonna eat my whole.
SPEAKER_02:If I learn anything, it's beware of a motherfucker who's old in the profession where people die young. Like, nobody else in that show is older. You said it right there. You said it right there. Like, everybody's young, and then you got this one old man in the order. Like, what? Like, come on, bro. Like, y'all don't know what this man been through. Like, half of y'all ain't nobody barely made it to this man's age, and then like Nagamo said, like, most of the people in the order never been full because they either die or some shit. Like, hell, Connor Greery got his place because he killed the order member. So, like, that's what I'm saying. Like, to even be an old ass man in the order, talk a mirror have to be on some crazy shit. Like, he damn near went in there untouched. He pulled up in the back of a taxi cab. Nigga pulled up in the back of a taxi cab and just like saved everybody from this building, falling down, and just pulled off. That was like his first entrance. He just left. Yeah, that was that was when Sakamoto was fighting apart and the building was coming down. He came and leveled that shit out. That shit was kind of crazy. Then when he got in the fight with Goku, Goku can't do shit with him. I thought that was gonna be more of a fight fight, but then shit, you gotta think about it. Goku, young as hell, Takamura, old as hell. So shit. Takamura been seen every goddamn thing, young boy. Like, you know, seen everything.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, like he's the type of dude, like, bro. I've been in this blind world long enough to know what the turnover rate is.
SPEAKER_02:Like, facts. You see how you see how he blocked. Listen, put in perspective, this man is old, and we all know about old man's strength, right? This man blocked Goku down smash. Everybody know what a down smash, he blocked this man's down smash with a one hand, just uh blocked that man's shit. And every time he grabbed that fucking sword handle, some shit's going in half. Anything in this area in the vicinity of this man is going in half. Like Goku got his fingers and ears chopped. He was chopping his ass, got his fingers in his ears chopped. Uh made him run. That was the funny part for me, right? That bitch base, fuck that nigga poked the damn building. He said, I'm not fighting that old man, like you tripping. Like, you ain't tell me this old man was this strong. Like, you wildin'. Like, fuck it, let's switch. So he bust through the building. The talk of just followed his ass. Like, he don't even open this. How you know this man is crazy. Instead of grabbing the fucking door handle, and you know it's not locked because he just pulled it down with the store play. Like, he just right.
SPEAKER_05:That was a crazy that entrance in there. Y'all like, bro, he didn't even use the door like a normal person. He just sliced that door, you know. Like, Dika Boo, I see you.
SPEAKER_00:Like, he really wanna chop the door down. To be honest, he really wanna.
SPEAKER_04:I'm like, bro, you can just open the door like a normal person. I'm like, hey, bro, I ain't like nah, you know, go ahead, boy boy.
SPEAKER_02:Like, I'm I'm I'm just he made Goku bust through the fucking walls, man. That shit was crazy. Nobody could stop him. They had to blow everybody up. I ain't gonna slide though. If I had to pick a favorite character, that's the thing about this show because there's so many side characters. Like, I'm pretty sure when it comes out, people are gonna have a lot of different favorite characters. Like, there's just so many who do different shit. Like obviously, like Sakamoto. Matter of fact, I think there was um when I was reading Among, I think they had a poll. Nagamo was number one. Yeah, when I was reading, yeah, when I was reading it last year, Nagamo was number one. Uh oddly enough, Sakamoto was like, I think the highest Sakamoto guy ranked was like between three and five. Yeah, Goku was up there. Shin was number Shin was up there for sure. He was like top two, top three. Um I like Osaragi. She I remember her being like number six or some shit. I remember her being like Ninstasakamoto on Rank Hill and shit. But yeah, definitely Nagamu Nagamu was like a like a fan pick. Goku was like a fan pick. Shin. Shin probably got like Shin probably got like the most potential, I ain't gonna lie, simply because how he ain't ducking no fights. He's trying to get strong as hell since episode one. He's he almost got main character energy to be honest.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, like underdog, almost like Midoria energy.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, you feel me? Like he he he for the whole, he for the cause. Any oh, one thing I did notice if anybody threatened anything about Sakamoto's family, he turned up as just like he's Sakamoto. Like that's that's what I fuck with. Like he might be fighting somebody, losing a fight, but if Sakamoto, like no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_05:A better example would have been like Krillin's where you don't have despite everything, like where Krillin isn't that strong, but name one time Krillin ducked the um fade.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, no, he ain't ducking no fade, no.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:He's gonna hold off to go.
SPEAKER_05:I mean, the only time he'll run is if he was being told to run, you know, like hey, yo, get this person to save you or what type says, like, you know, kind of like playing support while the uh stronger Z fighters show up, like, all right, Krillin, now uh now that we're here, we're gonna take we're gonna handle it, make sure Boma and the rest of the game all are good. Like, you know, uh right, bro, he say them, say less. You know, like, but no, like if he has to fight, like he ain't ducking that fade. Like, he's gonna at least try. You're gonna at least try to hold them off or something, you know. Grillin ain't ducking no face. They would be well, like, also, you know, he got one of the baddest bitches uh as his wife, so I can't even hold Crown. But no, for real though, I do like shit. Like, he like you said, he does have potential, but not gonna lie, I'm not even surprised that Nazamo is number one because like just something about him where I'm like, I like this guy. Like, yeah, he's a troll, but he's a likable troll. He's like one of those guys where I'm like, okay, yeah, he likes to have his jokes, but he's cool. He's cool.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I mean, he's one of them characters that like he knows he's strong, so he's kind of like he's gonna fuck around. Like, he can do what he wants.
SPEAKER_05:I mean, you can even tell with the way he dressed. Like, ain't he the one like be rolling around with Hawaii, uh Hawaiian t-shirts and whatnot? Like, yeah, like he ain't worried about us.
SPEAKER_02:I fought with his tattoos, he got some fire tattoos.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Uh, was there anything else you want to mention about the anime as a whole? Uh no, not really. Good. Cool. Uh if I were to put it to a rating as it stands right now, I wanna say dang.
SPEAKER_05:Uh, I wanna say a nine. Like, I'm not trying to uh be one of those picky people, it's just for the most part, it is enjoyable. I would highly recommend it. It's just ah like something's missing, like maybe once we get to like season two, season three, maybe I'll bump up a score. But right now, as a series, it's standing at a nine out of ten for me. Like, I just feel like maybe if I see more of the series, it'll bump up to a 10. Or if it's like anything like seven deadly sins, I don't know. I kind of mentioned this from time to time on the podcast where my whole thing is with rating these things that just because the first one or two seasons were pretty good doesn't mean that the finished product is gonna uh hold, you know, it's like stand firm. Where seven Deadly Sins was feeling like uh nine as well, at least a solid nine, but then the plot got convoluted, the animation kind of looking like great value type shit, and it went from a nine to like a seven point five, like it was still not bad, it's just you had me in that first half, not gonna lie, just I don't know about that second half. Like, hell, I still didn't watch all so of the apocalypse. We'll get to it, like we're gonna do a whole redux on seven deadly sins and the sequel series and all that. Anyways, it just that's what I'm saying. Like sometimes, like, just because it's looking like a 10 out of 10, like to be hero X, I'm still standing on that 10 out of 10 because it definitely has it had a lot going on to a point to where like I just fuck with this show. I really fuck with it from a structural point of view. I love the characters, the animation, all the shit. I I there was just so much that I loved about it, like I still stand firm on that 10. But with Sakamoto days, I'm only giving it a nine because I feel like maybe if I saw more, I might give it a 10.
SPEAKER_03:I don't know, that's just me.
SPEAKER_04:But yeah, let's just go ahead and close this up, boy boy. Thank you for being on the show with me. And to the listener, I do thank you for listening to it to the end.
SPEAKER_05:Go ahead and have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night, but ultimately do take it easy. Please stay nerdy. Remember that great things are coming, and we're gonna go ahead and zone up out of here.
