What up, gang? It's the season finale of the Nerdy News special. I call it the season finale because here's the thing From this point afterwards, we're going to be doing Nerdy News at the tail end of our reviews. You know, kind of like church stops where they have a main sermon and afterwards they do the announcements, that kind of sort of thing. So we're going to be doing that for the rest of 2025. And then in 2026, we're going to have the nerdy news as a weekly thing, to where it'll be like less news per segment or per episode, but it'll be more frequent, like fresh, fresher news. So that's about it. Also, in other developments, I am geeking out about having this brand new mic and it's not going to be no sponsorship. I'm just saying like I'm just glad to have like some new podcast equipment to work with so it might increase the quality.
Speaker 1:So, without further ado, let's go on and get into the nerdy news. So let's start with movies, as per usual. For starters, we recently got a new look at Tom Holland's new Spider-Man suit and brand today, along with confirmation that MJ Ned, the Hulk Punisher and Scorpion will be in the movie. Also, whoever Sadie Sink is supposed to be, kevin Feige said that they're not allowed to bring miles morales into the mcu yet and I kind of understand, because the way they're setting up it, uh, across the spider verse into the spider verse, where by the time beyond the spider verse come, they're probably gonna do something to where, oh, he's suddenly part of a live action version of miles morales. Oh yeah, you're gonna be part of the MCU. Now I'm like if that would happen, we kind of knew already. We were just waiting for that to actually happen. We'll see in about two or so years. I mean, also, it makes sense because with Secret Wars coming we're going to have the symbiote suit Spider-Man, and I believe that's also right around time and coming before that Miles Morales came in. But I may be misremembering. I know the symbiote suit part for sure, but I think that's also when Miles showed up during Secret Wars. But anyways, let's move it on Fantastic Four rewards. But, uh, anyways, let's move it on, uh, fantastic four.
Speaker 1:It earned 11 million domestically in its second product, which is a massive negative 80 percent drop from its debut. So people are saying that, um, financially it was a flop. But I was hearing that was doing pretty good, like in theater, like people like the film, so it's unfortunate Like maybe some folks weren't able to watch the film. Oh well, it is what it is. Speaking of films, superman it opened as one of the highest rated DC films and becoming the highest grossing solo Superman movie ever, earning $217 million. Good for Superman. Good for Superman with the whole cast and all that Very bank of job.
Speaker 1:K-pop demon hunters Achieved what Netflix called a new viewing peak With this fifth week on the platform and this week it came with an impressive 26.3 million views. Very good, I watched it twice and I'm kind of surprised Disney didn't come up with this shit, but anyways, avatar I watched it twice and I'm like kind of surprised Disney didn't come up with this shit, but anyways, avatar, the Last Airbender creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Brian Konecko I hope I got that at least kind of correct have confirmed that Steven Yeun of the Walking Dead Invincible will be voicing adult Prince zuko in the upcoming animated film the legend of ang, the last app, the last airbender. Oh, I am kind of excited for that and, crazy enough, I can kind of see steven as zuko, like you know, but as an adult zuko I can kind of see it. I'm trying to see it. Uh, thunderbolts. It also flopped, unfortunately, like they even say, like it was probably because it was had 76 million domestic box office opening over the weekend with a global box office total of 400 million, and the film was made with a 280 million budget, including 1 million in promotional costs. So they're thinking like, oh, they didn't make the money back. And before I continue, let me just say that this is just a catch up of all the news between May and now, because we've been taking a break on podcasting and whatnot. But we're getting back into it and we're playing catch up with some of the news that came out and honestly, there wasn't a whole lot Not a whole lot that I thought it was, but there's. Let's just get into it. Let's just keep it going.
Speaker 1:So Thunderbolt's director Is in the talks to direct a Marvel Studios X-Men movie. We're going to have Michael Leslie writing the script for the film, who also was responsible for the newest Hunger Games movie, the Valley of Sun, birds and Snakes. Cool, cool, cool, cool. Okay, this is going to be the weird part. We've been hearing things about tariffs lately and Trump was saying that he'll be implementing a 100% tariff on movies produced in foreign lands, deeming them a national security threat and at this stage it's unclear how such a tariff will work, but how this will affect production will be affected. So you mean to tell me shit like anime movies, like the upcoming demon slayer movie and all this other shit. You tell me they're gonna put a tariff on that. Okay, so, oh, they're national security threats. Now, all right, excuse me a little, tickle my throat, but keeping it moving.
Speaker 1:The Lord of the Rings, the Hunt for Golem it is set to be coming out On December 17, 2027. We got a new logo For Godzilla and Kong Supernova that's coming out in March 26, 27. Youtube is moving forward With a plan to stop Supernova. That's coming out in March 26-27. Youtube is moving forward with a plan to stop fake movie trailer accounts from generating revenue off their work. Good, because there was like this one champ I think it was ScreenCulture where they would put out these trailers, making it look like they're the actual trailer, but they're not. So personally, I say good, I'll just keep it at that Because misleading.
Speaker 1:First of all, amc theaters will slash their prices on Wednesdays by half, starting on July 9th. Well, you know, that's past, that, I don't know. It's been a month now. And in an effort to get more folks in for a movie During the midweek slump. And oh, by the way, with the Legend of Aang that's coming out on October 9th 2026, we got Final Destination, bloodlines, breaking it's own franchise records With 21 million on the opening day, so that's pretty good. The sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, mutant Mayhem own franchise records with 21 million on the opening day, so that's pretty good. Uh, the sequel to teenage mutant ninja turtles, mutant mayhem is now delayed until 2027. Uh, henry cavill's upcoming voltron movie is going straight to streaming in prime video instead of having a theatrical run. Oh man, they keep doing henry cavill dirty like.
Speaker 1:I just think like hollywood just hate this man for some reason, like, but I'm like this is the same man that does the homework on this shit, like this, you know superman and the witcher and warhammer, whatnot, but like, why y'all keep calling this man. I just, I just don't understand anyways, avengers doomsday has been delayed to December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, avengers, secret Wars has been delayed to December 17, 2027. Bandai Namco and A24 is teaming up with the writer and director of Alice Garland to bring From Software and world-renowned video game elder ring to life as a live action film. So that'll be coming out soon at some point, but just expect the elder ring movie to come out too. Um, that's all I got for movie news for right now, and, tanara, you're new to the nerdy news. Uh, how are you feeling about all this so far?
Speaker 2:um, definitely some interesting stuff going on there. I had I hadn't heard anything about legend of ang um, so that should be interesting. Um, k-pop, demon hunters I I personally have seen that about a baker's dozen so far and probably gonna be more in the future. Um, I'm they. They have like vinyl records of you know the soundtrack. I'm very tempted to get those, but they're also like 35 bucks, um, but um, pretty excited about the new spider-man. Hadn't heard about that before. So, like I told you, a lot of stuff I hadn't heard of, but I am very excited for um, I didn't.
Speaker 2:The head for gollum should be interesting, very curious what they're going to do as far as story-wise on that, learning more about smeagle and whatnot um also, I'm also very glad about them youtube stopping those fake movie trailer accounts from you know, because there's there been several, many times where it's like I'm like, oh my god, oh my god. And then, um, I'm like reading the comments, they're like everyone, check the description, check the description, fan mate, it's like son of a bitch, like getting, get me all excited about this. But yeah, and like you said, hollywood seems to have something against Henry Cavill. That poor man. He does his research, he knows his material, and yet they're like nope, you can't. It's like what? So I ain't see a lot of movies, but I've been on Beyonce's internet looking through everything, looking at all the movies getting in and out. Alright. So first of all, Miles Morales. I'm not understanding why they just we gotta end this whole partnership with Sony and Marvel like something gotta happen. They gotta buy something. I think they got enough money to buy something.
Speaker 1:I mean you can already tell that they're trying to integrate everything that Sony and Legendary and all those other places that had Marvel stuff and they're trying to bring it back. They're trying to do that but it's a slow, slow integration because, you know, with the whole thing with trademarks and whatnot, because keep in mind, like People were just spending MCU to pop off the way it was until it did so, now Marvel Studios is now looking at hey yo, so since we're up now, like, can we have our shit back? I mean I don't know like you pop and I mean we can pop off with your shit, you know. Yeah, I mean I don't know you pop and we can pop up with your scene.
Speaker 4:Yeah, so I haven't seen the Fantastic Four. I want to see it. I heard it got some bad reviews, though, but of course I don't trust reviews from humans. I would rather see the movie and see what it is to it, and of course, I don't want to go into it, like Talos was saying. I want to go into it thinking we just got another remake, um, and it's replacing another one, when it's a whole universe.
Speaker 1:However, I am upset that my baby mama wasn't recast. No, no, don't do that. She's showing up in secret wars.

But you know, nevertheless, I haven't seen Superman, but I've heard great reviews from it and I can't wait to see it. It's on my list. I'm going to the movies all this week, so we'll see how that goes. K-pop Demon Hunters now, I was supposed to watch it, but what had happened was my daughter watched it without me the day we were supposed to watch it, and I got upset and told her I ain't watching it, but I'm going to watch it. I'm like bro, like Superman was just like way more entertaining on paper, to where I'm like it's almost refreshing to see how well it did, especially when you see a Superman where it just seemed like it's rare and refreshing to see a Superman that actually feels human, like he actually has a personality, like nothing against Henry Cavill, but it just seemed like Henry Cavill's version and some other versions felt like they were trying to be like this paragon of righteousness, and there's nothing wrong with that. But with this Superman, david Cornsweth, he felt like an actual person. I can actually believe that this is a dude that grew up on a fucking farm in fucking Kansas.

Speaker 1:Good shit, good shit. Aaron Moriarty will be returning as Starlight for the Boys in GMB Season 2, which will be premiered on Prime Video on September 17th. I'm mentioning this because here's my theory already, if you've seen the Boys up until the finale of Season 4 and GMB season one, my theory is that Starlight is going to find Marie and the gang and they're going to team up to find where the rest of the boys are and they might end up going against Kate Sam and the whole gang, probably going to end up going against Homelander and his legion of Supes while Butch is off doing his own thing. That's my theory and I kind of wish Mirror Jane was on for this part, because I got a bet going on to where I bet you that with Sister Sage kind of being like Homelander's advisor being smarter, the smartest person in the world and whatnot, homelander's advisor being smarter, the smartest person in the world and whatnot, and Soldier Boy being teased, who might be coming back for this final season of the Boys, my theory is that, you know, with Sister Sage was kind of like fucking around with some of the members of the Seven. My theory is that Sister Sage is going to be fucking around with Soldier Boy in a way that kind of fucks with Homelander, since, you know, soulja Boy is Homelander's like father by DNA and the funniest part is he'll be the only dude that she didn't need to lobotomize herself for to enjoy the sex that she was having with him. This upcoming 2D animated series from Avatar Studios will follow a young Earthbender who discovers that she's the next Avatar. So we are very excited to know more about this series and, announced during the San Diego Comic Con, the Legend of Vox Machina has been renewed for a fifth and final season ahead of its season four premiere. So, with that being said, I hope it goes out with a bang and until then, let's just enjoy the ride. A new Cyborg 009 anime called Cyborg 009 Nemesis recently just been announced, and it will mark 61 years since the original manga first published. I am excited because I fucking love Cyborg 009. Especially Call of Justice, where it's like 3D animated but like the way they carried about. It was like very good, I like it. I'm gonna check out Nemesis at some point.

We're trying to get the arcade scene up and running where you see clips of us playing games like Marvel Rivals, maybe Overwatch, maybe Mario Kart, mario Party, whatever the case may be. Whatever we're in the mood to play at the time, we're gonna be mood to play at the time.
