Yes, sir, it's time for another round of nerdy news, with the Zone podcast Bringing you the latest updates from the world of entertainment, sports, gaming and more. So let's go ahead and zone right in on it. So, starting with movies, of course, sinners, doing so good, it's getting a re-release on IMAX, you got to love it. It's getting a re-release on IMAX, you gotta love it. A Minecraft movie Grossed about 721 million total and still have another 279 million to go Before it overtakes the Super Mario Brothers movie and joined the billion dollar club, and after Surpassing 550. It's already At the highest gross Hollywood movie of the year, behind this Chinese film that I never heard of. But I have a feeling that Sinners is going to be a top contender, for I mean, I haven't even seen the movie. I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you and I am so glad I have, uh, co-hosts such as professor tuck and mirror jane that's going to be leading that review. I'm going to get to eventually. But what can I say? I missed my window. I didn't even know about it until it already blew up, but anyways, moving on star wars episode 3, it got re-released and it did pretty good, marking one of the top grossing re-release weekends in box office history, ranking behind episode A, new Hope and the Lion King, the new one.
Speaker 1:Okay, here's some bullshit, gentlemen. The Netflix CEO is saying that, oh, netflix is saving Hollywood and theater is an outmoded idea for most people. Bitch, I just went to see Thunderbolts and I will still pull up to the theater for a good movie. Honestly, like, if it has potential, I'll pull up to the fucking movie. I don't believe that shit. A lot of people went to see Thunderbolts. We were laughing. I'm not gonna say much. We're gonna do a full review momentarily. Like, we're gonna give it like another week from recording. But yeah, like I don't think theaters are going away anytime soon. They tried to kill the theaters, but like, we'll show up for a good movie. Speaking of Thunderbolts, sebastian Stan he said that a 65,000 residual payment from Hot Tub Time Machine saved him before he landed his role as Winter Soldier slash Bucky in the original Captain America movie. So if he didn't do that movie, he was blamed the douchebag and I was thinking like bro, I did not recognize him at that moment, but now I see I can see it and it's funny as hell.
Speaker 1:Okay, that was just like interesting news for me. Star Wars the Mandalorian and Grogu Come to theaters May 22nd 2026 and Star Wars Starfighter, released on May 28th 2027. Tron Ares the third installment in the Tron Series. I think it's like the third one because you know it was like the original one. Then it the Tron series I think it's like the third one because you know it was like the original one. Then it was Tron Legacy, now it's Tron Aries. Okay, cool, cool, cool. That's coming out October 10th.
Speaker 1:Honestly, it looked kind of clean until I saw Jared Leto and I'm like man, fuck all of this, throw the whole movie in the trash. Donnie Depp is officially back in Hollywood as Lionsgate's day drinker, now filming Borderlands. Director Eli Roth believes that the circumstances around the film, such as the COVID pandemic, certainly didn't do the team any favors as far as Borderlands doing well, and I'm like Mr Roth, stop it, stop it, stop it. That's not the real reason. Finally, for movie news, the academy of motion picture arts and sciences is finally giving stunt performers their due, as it's been announced that best stunt design will be an oscars category starring and with films released in 2027. So, yes, about time the real heroes get recognition. That's all I got for movie news. Let's go around the table. Let's say we start with Professor Tuck, how are you feeling about movie news?
Speaker 2:I'm so glad we started with Sinners. I know we're going to do a review, but I just want everybody to know go watch the movie. The movie is iconic. The movie is hilarious and all I'm gonna tell you is shout out to my boy Cornbread my boy Cornbread is the one you gotta really watch that Omar play. That's so good. I have not got opportunity to see a Minecraft movie yet, but it is on my itinerary to do that this weekend. That's so good. I have not got the opportunity to see a Minecraft movie yet, but it is on my itinerary to do that this weekend, so I'm definitely going to check that out. Any kind of movie with Jack Black usually gets me going because he's just a dope talent. Hot Tub Time Machine that was ironic about the residuals, because Hot Tub Time Machine is one of my favorite movies. It's hilarious.
Speaker 2:I still kind of like it yeah, I'm just laughing to think about it and I was excited for Tron until I found out who was in it and I was like I'm good, yeah, like you, almost'm good, yeah, like.
Speaker 1:You almost had me. You almost had me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like you know, when you find out who in it, it's like, ah, they gonna mess it up. So, yeah, I think that's all I pretty much had on it. Did I mention that Sinners is dope? You gotta go watch that. I can't wait to go dive into the review. Me and Skip got a lot of topics to cover, and might I mention Dr Umar had a lot to say about it too.
Speaker 1:He does.
Speaker 2:And if you sneak peek into it, I'm going to discuss the baby mama candidates.
Speaker 1:That was in there alright, that was all you had for movie news. Yeah, that's all I had let's say Kokugasu, how you feeling about movie news okay, okay, honestly, I have not seen Sinners, but I heard it's really good.
Speaker 4:Previews look great and I'm pretty excited to see what else is going to do into it. At first I was like, oh great, another vampire movie. But as long as it ain't Twilight, you know, I'm going to be cool with it. As far as into a vampire, the most recent vampire movie I've seen was day shift, uh, with jamie foxx on netflix because that released out like last year. But I finally got a chance to sit down and watch with my wife and a lot of people was like, oh, it was kind of okay. It was actually a pretty good movie. I don't know like it was pretty fun. I think they just took it too seriously. So as long as I don't know if sinners might be the same way, maybe don't take it too seriously. Just understand it's a vampire movie, it's meant for your enjoyment, it's not supposed to be so realistic type of thing. So we'll see minecraft movie. Uh, does not? It actually surprised me, I'm not gonna lie to you. Um, because people was really shitting on how the, the previews and stuff were. Because and I'm not gonna lie on the first two previews that came out, first two teasers, I was like, yeah, I don't know, this movie's probably gonna flop, bro, like I really don't think it's gonna do well. But then, as more previews came out, it started looking better and better. Um, and then also, you know, they did, uh, of course, shout out. Uh, they want to shout out the one, that youtuber who unfortunately had passed. I feel bad. I feel bad. I can't remember his name right now and that's, poor beloved me. I didn't actually follow him. I was not a big mine person, but I understand he was very big in the Minecraft community, so definitely big shout out to him and his family. And it was a big thing for when he had wound up passing, a lot of people wound up resharing it with. The Minecraft movie was doing very well, so a lot. It wound up becoming trending on YouTube again to reshare things for him. So Minecraft movie also I guess as an add on because of how well it's already done, has already been greenlit for a second movie. And it was greenlit for a second movie two weeks after it was in theaters. So that's something pretty interesting. It's the fact like yeah, two weeks in and like, yeah, we are, we already let you know, we're gonna do a second movie. I'm glad y'all loved it, type of thing.
Speaker 4:Um, apparently it was great for not just kids but also a lot of adults. Um, because minecraft is big in the community, it's way more than just little children like. There's adults that love minecraft because it's a building. You can make stuff and make your dream however you want to. So it's like the two biggest simulators games is minecraft and sims. So it's like, and they're not necessarily competing. It's just usually, to be honest, most women like sims more than minecraft. That's just the generic. I'm not saying guys don't, but just generic. And most men prefer minecraft over sims. But either way, they're not in competition but they always go neck and neck as far as like in sales and how well things are. My son loves minecraft so he was excited. He wants to see the movie, so let's see on to that.
Speaker 4:Um, as far as the star wars, may the fourth be with you. I don't know exactly when is you'll be listening to this. By the time of recording it's not quite may 4th yet we'll go ahead and knock that out the way. So episode 3 vengeance is, if I'm happy that we're getting back into it, getting a chance to re-release. Um, a lot of people have really been shitting on the sequel series and, not gonna lie, I watched them. I'm not the biggest fan of them. We have done a review on it. Um, it's not the biggest fan into it, but getting a chance to kind of really dive back in it's pretty dope. Uh, netflix is not saving hollywood with this nonsense, especially because, in fact, netflix keeps canceling shows that fans love you. They just canceled three more series that are top rated by fans Because it's like oh, we're just not having fan engagement. It is literally rated by the fans as the top.
Speaker 1:And the price went up. I know it's not Netflix, but you're going to hate what's going to happen in television news when it rolls around HBO Max.
Speaker 4:I don't even have Max no more, because it made me mad. I can put it that way Max has already made me mad. They erase so much stuff. They erase so much stuff. Right now I can't even go back and watch Crisis on Twitter. We haven't gotten there yet anyway. So we got some cool Star Wars stuff. I don't. I stop following Tron. I'm not going'm not gonna lie to you, don't care about that. Johnny depp coming back into hollywood and now this can be a good thing. This could be a bad thing. I don't know. I'm just saying I wholeheartedly agree with what andre 3000 says. In the music industry, at some point there is a thing where you might you might just be a little too old for it, but it depends on the roles that you do. Because I mean, look at at Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman is not going out being young and nothing like that. He plays that older figure all the time. He does fantastic at it, but he's been playing that for years.
Speaker 1:I'm thinking that, yeah, I can imagine he's going to be like an older. Like you know, I don't think he's going to be like a young guy In this movie.
Speaker 4:I don't even see the previews yet, but I just get a feeling that it's gonna be one of those more, uh, somber type. I mean we're gonna see into it, but like, as this only thing, I we're gonna see, that's all I can say. Um, but I mean it's. It's great that he's finally getting back and recovering after the whole fiasco that happened. Another thing, I guess just as an add-on into it, is that Jonathan Majors is also back in Hollywood as well. He is already back filming again. He's also recovering from that. He and Kiki are fantastic right now. They're doing their thing. I'm just like hey, as long as things go well, that's the main thing into it oh shit, tuck, uh.
Speaker 1:I just remember the lawyer's name, camille basket. I like her name was escaping me when we did the after dark special but I was like what was her name again? Like now I remember the uh, the lawyer that helped out johnny oh yeah oh yeah, we're gonna move on before he gets excited anyway.
Speaker 4:Um, oh yeah, yeah, look as far as in the border, as far as in the borderlands. You, you messed up. Just admit it. You fucked up. Take the l, move forward. We don't need another drake. We got too much going on with him already, as is. Take the l and move forward. Stop making excuses. We didn't do a good job, we're gonna move forward into it. Hell, they doing that even right now for dragon ball evolution. The dude who played goku in dragon ball evolution still again has apologized into it and it's like hey, you've already apologized, move on. Okay, I got you now granted. I understand him apologizing because apparently it really trashed his career, because ever since that movie he never got a chance to get back into filming again. They, they pretty much canceled damn near everybody from that movie. I was like jesus, it's not even their fault, it's the writer's fault, but still, but they canceled everybody from that movie. I was like before canceling was even a thing and um, last thing is is that I am excited that you know our stunt doubles performers are finally, finally getting the recognition they deserve into it.
Speaker 4:Stunt doubling is an act in itself, aside from the fact that stunt doubles die every single year in filming in so many different movies you never know. There's various different things that happen into it. I've seen so many different. I've seen a lot of different detective shows where that kind of becomes a thing. Also where the stunt double winds up dying in place of the actor because people tried to assassinate the actor and it wound up killing the stunt double by mistake type of thing. But it's just one of those ones. Like Hollywood is dangerous. It's always been dangerous for every situation because people are people. That is not a good thing.
Speaker 4:And the stunt doubles getting their recognition for how much time and energy they put into it you know you have to go through so much effort for these stunt doubles Makeup my much time and energy they put into it. You know you have to go through so much effort for these stunt doubles makeup my wife is majoring to makeup. That's her main job and stuff and so she watches a lot of things about makeup and the makeup industry and understanding that these makeup artists they don't just do the actors and stuff, they do a lot of detail work onto these stunt doubles. And so getting a chance to see these design teams and the stunt doubles being able to do the best to portray as much as the actor actress does, I'm happy to get into recognition. My only piss off is that we're waiting until 2027 to give them their wars. I really think it should be 2026. Move that shit up like immediately.
Speaker 1:That's all that I got. That's all I got, All right. Talos your take on the movie news.
Speaker 3:I'm sorry, is it my turn? Yeah, yeah okay, give me just a second y'all, cause, uh you know, hey got some stuff going on, so give me just a second.
Speaker 1:Let me pull this up, cause this finna be a lot to say yeah, oh yeah, um, one thing that I forgot to add on to the docket. But I just want to go ahead and say right now I don't know if it's like april news, but I just want to go out on a limb and say I do apologize and at the same time I thank rachelegler, because apparently Snow White did so bad that Disney said you know what, let's dial back on the live action remakes. You know what, maybe she was a hero after all, because she did such a great job to make sure nobody likes Snow White that now they're dialing back.
Speaker 4:From my understanding, because I actually spoke to people who actually watched it. It wasn't her and Snow White that now they're like dialing back From my understanding, because I actually spoke to people who actually watched it it wasn't her and Snow White that did it. They said she did fine. Aside from the writing being terrible, it was the woman portraying Maleficent. They say they absolutely hated her. What?
Speaker 2:Was it a different actor? You can open your face.
Speaker 4:No, no, it's the actress Talos got some background noise from me.
Speaker 3:The pump will always beep.
Speaker 4:Okay, so, like what it is, is that a lot of people were upset as far as not from Snow White, because the lady who plays Snow White they understood. The writing itself may not have been like the best. They hated the writing for it.
Speaker 1:Um, you already know well, I'm not talking about the acting like, not the movie itself, but it's more about, before the movie came out, the way she was criticizing the uh original vision for Snow White. Oh yeah.
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, but y'all already know how I felt about Snow White. Y'all know I hate her in every regard, like straight up.
Speaker 4:There is no question about it If y'all have not heard it on the previous podcast I hate the idea of Snow White, literally just the white woman who can't defend herself has to be saved all the time, can't do nothing for herself, makes dumb decisions all the time of hurting herself, hurting other people. Always has to be saved. I hate the idea of Snow White. It was purposely written for her to be that way and they never changed it, no matter what iteration they put her in, and even this one. Yes, she's become more aware of stuff, but it's still the same concept. It's anyway, but it was, but definitely maleficent. That was like a lot of people sealed the deal for that. They said they absolutely hated her in this movie. She did a terrible job acting and not I say maleficent, I'm sorry, no the evil queen, because maleficent evil queen the two different people, but the Eva Queen absolutely hated her Like straight up, gotcha.
Speaker 1:Alright.
Speaker 3:Tell us you ready. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I'm ready.
Speaker 3:So, Alright, let's get into this real quick, right? So first things first. I've been waiting to hit on this for a hot minute I don't know whenever anybody hears this but I want y'all to understand. To those people out here that have criticized, criticized, criticized about sinners I need y'all to stop. If you're not going to watch it, don't criticize because you're only seeing it. And yes, when I say this, I'm going to be mean. I'm talking to those that, quote unquote call themselves christians, but you're not look, but you're only looking at it because it's oh, oh, they said this is demons and vampires, oh, okay, but you're not looking at the aspect of what they're playing at is hey, this is, this is how black people saw white folks back in that time, because of the way things work, and that's the reason why it's like okay, hey, can we not Like? If you're not really going to do it, don't talk trash, because you don't know what you're talking about Now hold on a minute.
Speaker 3:I need for folks to chill out about this. I really do. I need folks to chill out about this. I really do. I need for folks to chill out about this, like that's not cool, as in which I'm. There's another reason I'm going to bring up a topic of, which will be later, but it's like, if you're not a person that's Doing these types of films, if you're not a person In this film industry, quit critiquing, quit trying to give it, quit trying to give an opinion. Nobody asked for you just don't like it. You just don't like it. Like I mean, yeah, I can't deal with it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I can't understand constructive criticism if you're in the industry, but I mean yeah, because you know we are like in the business of you know our podcast, like we do our reviews, but we we don't act like we can do 10 times better than who actually made it.
Speaker 1:But we're just pretty much giving our perspective. Where I'm like, uh, I didn't like the execution of we, we can only give our opinion of the content based from a consumer's point of view. Now, if we actually, like, have experience in script writing and videography and all that other stuff, then we can give a more critical point of view to where, like, okay, you could have done a different technique, or you can tell that, uh, it's been edited to hell and all this other stuff, to where you can kind of catch on to it on a surgical level, but like, if you can only see it from a consumer point of view, like, don't my whole thought process behind it is these are some.
Speaker 3:I'm making a point to jab.
Speaker 1:These are some of the same Christians that literally gave interview with a vampire past and I was also thinking like once again I didn't see the movie, but I was getting that vibe, based on some of the images, that it kind of felt like a historical juxtaposition, like Django Unchained, you know more fantasy, because vampires yes, and that's literally what it was.
Speaker 3:It was just OK. Hey, they just threw in the fact of vampires and demons because this is how black people saw white folks, black men, because they couldn't have anything, and that's literally what they saw them. As Most people don't realize that, yes, they got labeled as monsters, some of the worst of the worst.
Speaker 1:White men bleeding me dry.
Speaker 3:From a person who has not even seen the movie. Right, I've seen. I'm gonna be real with you, I could have watched the movie on TikTok because TikTok is TikTok, but same time I'm like, no, I want to give everybody. They're just dudes. I want to be able to you know if I'm going to go watch the movie, I'm going to watch the movie and actually watch it in a legit manner, because it is worth watching in a legit manner, and my and my thing is it's just that you know, hey, with the way things, with the way things went and and how some of the, how some of the scenes are and everything else like it, it's a masterpiece. It's one of those movies that I really feel like. Give me a sec.
Speaker 1:Okay, while we give him a moment, we do Got a whole bunch of news.
Speaker 3:I'm sorry. I I'm back. I just want to make sure everything's all right. My thing is and I'm saying it like it is again right. I like giving people their just due. So when you have these types of situations, when you have these types of situations when you have these types of situations it's just hey's just hey.
Speaker 3:We you know you can't be too judgmental off of something and that's my main thing off the center. Now, as far as how it goes with everything else, with some of the other stuff, I'm not gonna front you. Um, minecraft, minecraft movie. I'm slightly proud but also slightly annoyed and disappointed with the fans, because one for a person, a gamer, to be recognized the way that they were Technoblade. I'm very happy, very, very, very happy. That tells me that, hey, gaming companies are out here recognizing movies, are out here recognizing that you have your dedicated people and when you get people that are that dedicated, they should be recognized.
Speaker 3:What I am not happy about is the whole chicken jockey thing I ain't happy about, is the whole chicken jockey thing. I ain't happy about that, because that part about that like y'all are messing with the movie, like, come on, we can do better than that. I get it. Once again, I'm happy that they you know that they grossed, how much they grossed, but to the quote unquote adults. This movie is for kids. This is a kids movie. Why are we going and doing the most and throwing food and stuff when we get to the point of chicken. Jockey Like no, because people will. People, this is true jockey Like no.
Speaker 4:Because people with people. This is just really the answer.
Speaker 3:This is true, this is true people with people. But it's just like that part right there kind of bothered me. That part really, really bothered me and it's just like alright, now I'm finna, hit the hot take, hot take. I know some of y'all might not like this, but hot take If you, if you out here talking about something, ooh, tron ain't gonna be good. Tron was never good. You were never a Tron fan to begin with. That tells me right there that you never read the books.
Speaker 3:And understood it from the completion of, so I understand while I feel called out, I do agree with you.
Speaker 3:I'm going to go live, that's okay, and there's a reason I say this is because I get it. A lot of people are not used to Tron right, a lot of people don't get where tron is going and how it's going to play out, how it's supposed to go, and I understand that. But I would say wholeheartedly, tron is one of the things that's just so much how I'm like. Even with star wars read. There's a lot of stuff that don't get told in the TV show and movies and majority of y'all have come in when it was just a TV show and or movies I need y'all to read, because there's deeper stuff to this, and Tron is one of them.
Speaker 3:Things that's like, ooh, if only you knew. These are some of them. Things that's like, ooh, if only you knew. These are some of them. Characters that I really be like yeah, y'all gonna wish you knew about this one. Y'all gonna wish you knew how strong they actually were. Another one that I really just want to just hit up side of the head Let me pull up this chair, eli. Eli, you know I'm not going to cuss, I'm going to try. You know, gosh darn well, that Borderlands Did not flop Because of the circumstances, aka covid pandemic, and other things.
Speaker 3:No, you had the wrong stars, you picked the wrong people. So because you picked, said, picked, said wrong people, ain't nothing you can do about that, like, what was you supposed to do? Oh look, hey, we, you know we gonna try this. But you picked the wrong folks, like you had them in the wrong roles. Sure, they tried, and I want to be known they tried. I ain't gonna even front you. I will even say Kevin Hart tried, they tried. But this is the wrong folks for the wrong roles. Now, if anybody else up here feel like you know some of these characters fit the right spot, y'all let me know. But I don't see it. And, in all honesty, the last thing I am going to say up here and it's going to encompass everything, the one thing that the Netflix CEO said I don't believe in that because I don't feel like Netflix is saving Hollywood. Netflix is kind of hurting. So it's a double-edged sword and that's my hot take.
Speaker 4:Right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, like lately with Netflix okay, every now and then they bring on something that I'm like, okay, it was worth a watch. But that's like a 80-20 rule, to where it seems like 20% is like genuine gold and then 80% just feels like the standards are kind of loose as far as movies like man. Honestly, there was like at one point where Netflix was just putting out shit, where it just made me feel like, yeah, maybe I need to write a movie and talk to Netflix, like make me a little bit of money, it doesn't even matter if it was good, like at least get the movie Green Lizard and like get a little bit of money out of that, nah, nah, nah yeah, it's not saving Hollywood.
Speaker 1:Theaters aren't going anywhere. Now let's go ahead and get into television news. We got a whole bunch of news to cover in general, so I'm going to try to blaze through it. So I got started off with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Steel Ball Run is officially in production animated. I am so glad because you know the jokes, how people are saying, oh well, it's going to be a while, like 2030 or some shit, when we get Steel Ball Run animated. Nope, you thought wrong. It is coming sooner than you think. Moving on Wednesday season 2. Launches in two parts Part 1 in August 6th and part 2 in September 3rd. Didn't we just talk about this shit with Invincible? Why are y'all splitting this up? And the fact that what is?
Speaker 1:even the point. So basically you're saying, okay, if it's going to be one of those eight episode things. So you're telling me you're going to give us four episodes on August 6th and then we've got to wait almost a month for parts. Now I'm not saying I'm being impatient, but with that window, why not just release all of them at once? What's the point of splitting them up? I'm just saying what's the logic in splitting them up? That's all I'm saying. Jeremy Renner he turned down Hawkeye Season 2 because he was being offered half the money he received in season 1. Honestly, I respect him. Stand on business. Fans have launched a petition to cancel the beginning after the end and redo it.
Speaker 1:I didn't even see it yet, but I'm like bro, I'm almost kind of scared to watch it now because, oh my god, it's so bad that they didn't give it one episode for them to say, hey, nah, nah, y'all fucking up already. Oh, here's the part I was telling you about kokuyasu. Even more animated shows have been removed from max, this in recent time, with zero reasons, given they are Tom and Jerry, the Flintstones, the Smurfs, be Cool, scooby-doo and Scooby-Doo and Guess who. The last two, eh okay, but whoa, those were like iconic cartoons. You just Max. I don't even know what the fuck you're doing anymore. Oh, speaking of streaming giants, they're silently working on a law that will cut off the internet to anyone who is caught watching pirated content. So, in other words, if you're on those other sites, nah, okay. Since y'all still wanna like jump around and whatnot, alright, check this out. We're going to cut off your whole internet. I wish you would. That's messed up.
Speaker 3:Oh nah, I got something to say off of that one. Oh nah, this is going to be NWA as soon as you done. This is going to be NWA.
Speaker 1:I'm almost done. I'm going to play through. I swear to God, I knew this one. I was like, ooh, I wish you would. Now, while seasons two, three and four of Halfman Hotel is in the works, helluva Boss will be added to Prime Video in the future. Good for that, good for that. The Devil May Cry anime is officially getting a season 2 at Netflix. The 9th Jedi anime has been announced, celebrating 20 years of Lucasfilm animation. We're going to get Maul, shadow, lord and all new Star Wars animated series soon. Amazon is developing a new Crouching Tiger, hidden Dragon television series per Direct.
Speaker 1:Maya Cech I don't know her name, honestly who's playing Toph in season 2 of Netflix's last Avatar adaptation. She's saying that there's going to be character adjustments to Toph, saying that her version is going to be a little older and more feminine. Saying that her version is going to be a little older and more feminine and she wanted to work on making a more humanizing space. For because you know she was a cartoon but there was backlash on that because we remember a tall being, that tough little badass that you know, kind of a hustler on the side, you know she, she was like one of the boys and we just appreciated her for what she was, like, you know, and she also didn't make her. She didn't um believe in being a victim of her circumstances by being blind. I was like that was powerful back in the day, like, and yet it just feels like a little step backwards. But that's just me, actually that's it.
Speaker 1:That's it as far as television news. You know what Talos Go ahead.
Speaker 3:Pop off, bet, bet, bet. Here we go.
Speaker 2:Hey Dre, I got something to say, Sometimes you got to pop off and show people Talos.
Speaker 3:So first and foremost. First and foremost, let's get this started. Let's really, let's really say what's good, what's really good, because for you to sit here and talk about something, oh yeah, we're going to just start cutting off people's internet. I want you to understand something. Try me, this is what I'm finna. Cuss at you to understand something. Try me, this is what I'm finna. Cut that. Try me, bitch. Try me, because I wish you would. Y'all don't want to put this stuff out here. We can't find them anywhere, like I want you to realize. You can say oh, find them on VHS. Who got VCRs nowadays? You can't find them on DVD.
Speaker 1:Bro, they trying to eliminate physical media and y'all on this bullshit talking about oh well, you can just play it on a Blu-ray.
Speaker 3:They don't even make them fucking Blu-ray. Blu-ray is almost gone and non-existent. It's almost like a dinosaur. So where you gonna find this stuff at? So when you gonna find this stuff in. So when you wanna be like, oh no, when I want my content, when I want my content, I'm gonna sell the seven C's Arg, I do not care, because you will not. I wish you would. I wish you would try to cut off my internet. That I pay for, that I pay for as my bill. Oh, okay, cool, not only are you going to pay my bill for the remainder of your natural living lives, but you're going to also give me my content for free because you shouldn't be putting it somewhere and then it's not in rotation. I would understand if it was on Netflix or Hulu or Prime, even if you're going to put it somewhere and it's in rotation. But if you're not putting it in rotation, where I can watch this stuff viably, no, crunchyroll doesn't even have everything.
Speaker 1:And that's a damn shame when it's like trying to eat up Funimation and shit.
Speaker 2:Y'all gonna skip past Talo Saying he's gonna sell the seven seas.
Speaker 1:Nah, like we, we already knew what Tom Talo was on, so I'm like it is what it is. Yes, he's so bad out here.
Speaker 3:Oh yeah, I'm selling the seven seas. I don't care, I don't care. Oh, also another thing that I'm mad about fans, really and truly. I'm still finna, cuss y'all out. I'm finna, cuss y'all out. I'm finna cuss out y'all. Norm y'all. Quote unquote normal people. Let me cuss y'all out for a hot second. How dare you talk about some? Hey? No, we're gonna. I need y'all to cancel the ongoing anime beginning after the end, and redo it. Who are you to say that you need something redone? If you ain't, if you can't, I'm gonna need you to get up off y'all seat and draw, learn to draw, learn to animate. Then you come talk to me and draw, learn to draw, learn to animate.
Speaker 1:Then you come talk to me. Tokugatsu, didn't Charlie and Blitz say in that one announcement video about Hasbro Hotel and Hello Boss, like animation takes a long time.
Speaker 4:I'm like, well, yeah, animation is not easy, especially considering the fact that, like considering the fact that um just do video, like start off doing video editing even before you do anime, like before you try doing this type of animation video editing, you know literally a lot of the best videos take, like for these people who don't get paid to do it they don't, they just have to do their day-to-day job and stuff. It takes them up five to six months of editing before they finally able to release these little um, not even 30 minutes, but like 10 minute videos, five minute videos, and you'll be like, oh, it looks amazing and stuff.
Speaker 3:It literally takes a long time folks, let me tell y'all something, right, it takes dashing in them, like maybe I'm used dashing. It takes dashi like maybe three days, three or four days, to get the quality, the quality of job you see on his video. Not live stream the video, because once they go into anything they have to edit. It takes a minute. This coming from a person who literally did his own intro and do you not know, it took out and I was just gundam for an intro to try to get past bandai right, I want y'all to understand it took me what I'll say a good six, seven days.
Speaker 3:A good six, seven days, a good six, seven days, just to get this done right, because I had to make sure there were no chopped up parts, none of this. So no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Just because you don't like something, just don't watch it.
Speaker 1:Man, I'm telling you I'm getting better at editing the podcast and we're going to do youtube usually, but learning how, to edit and shoot, bro.
Speaker 1:There's so many layers and technicalities that we overlook that. I now understand when I hear some of my favorite youtubers telling me they've been staring at adobe for the whole day just to get a video edited and uploaded. And I'm sitting there like damn, like editing is not just one day's work, like sometimes, depending on the quality of the video. You will be surprised that, like how, how are y'all putting out videos so consistently, bro?
Speaker 1:sometimes these videos come out like in advance like in other words we might be working on it way early, like some youtubers straight up say that they work on their videos like months in advance, and by the time you get it it's like nah, the Patreon already saw this content. You're just now watching it. That's it, that's it.
Speaker 3:Like I'm out here trying to, I'm out here teaching myself, get myself back into artistry and get myself to do a manga, to do mangas and stuff. Once again, I'm a writer, I have writing. Oh, it takes. So you all not know how long it takes to even begin to do the process. We do a thing very similar to storyboarding when we create our own universe in writing. Thing very similar to storyboarding when we create our own universe in writing. I will both understand. This is not something that's that's now listen.
Speaker 1:I want to say that I'm more specialized in character arcs because I believe that sometimes it's the character that kind of makes the story, like eddie uh kind of like manipulates the story's flow. And I feel like when I see undercooked characters in a piece of work, I take that personally because I'm like bro, like I got fucking books on learning how to write characters, and when I see characters where I just feel like you could have went somewhere with this character and you didn't, then I have a problem, like when I talk about positive character arts, flat character arts, negative character arts, relapse art. That's because, like I'm actually like studying how to write. I'm actually studying how to do this shit. So I'm like I'm not trying to be pretentious, like I know much better, but at the same time I'm like I'm gaining a little insider Knowledge enough to where I'm like I can tell it looks bad.
Speaker 3:And it could have been better. Yeah, I feel you and I agree, right, this is why it's like man, like I get so tired Of fans, like I do, I get tired of the fans and I Really really Well correction, it's not even the fans and I really really Well correction, it's not even the fans. We call them fans, but they're not fans. Those are people who just out there to complain always.
Speaker 1:The peanut gallery, so to speak. Yes, so.
Speaker 3:My thing is right and I'm going to kind of drop this real quick and after that I'm gonna let it go.
Speaker 3:I'm gonna let it go right all right, I'm going to applaud uh, has been hotel hell of a boss. Going to applaud devil may cry, because a lot of people don't realize the devil may cry. That was one of the things that everybody was like it it could fly, but it didn't. I'm proud of it. I am definitely going to say I am happy that Steel Ball Run is finally getting produced, or should be. It was finally getting produced or should be, you know, like it was finally getting produced and everything else, because it's about time. It's about time everybody got the steel ball run.
Speaker 3:Y'all often see some stuff. You are a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fan, you know. That's the main thing. And the last thing I'm fixing to say right now, before I get off of here, is this One fans need to not be so critical. Why and what am I talking about? I'm talking about for last episode. Understand y'all want everything to be comic book accurate. Not everything is going to be comic book accurate. We have different going to be comic book accurate. We have different universes, different worlds, so a TV universe can be a whole lot different than what you breed. If she wants to make Toph, just try to make Toph a little bit better. Hey, look cool, let her try to make her a little bit better, see what she can do. Y'all don't know how things might go. It might work.
Speaker 1:Okay, okay.
Speaker 3:It might work. So give something a chance. That's the part that I'm telling folks. Give something a chance before you open your mouth and be like, oh no, I cool in your mouth. And be like, oh nah, man, all right, cool bitch, okay, fair enough. Like that's my thing. Yeah, yes, I understand, I talk trash. I'm one of the people that will literally say, ooh, please don't mess with this, please don't.
Speaker 3:But I'm still going to give something a chance before I be like completely solid on what I've said, because as much as folks don't realize, even with the whole thing of them talking about Bakugan, as we once talked about here, them making a Bakugan movie, the potentials for a Beyblade movie and stuff like that, I'm going to still watch them. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to still watch them, just like I did for Dragonball Evolution. I still went to go watch them. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to still watch them, just like I did for Dragon Ball Evolution. I still went to go see it just to make sure I knew if it was going to be good, bad or ugly, and I got my confirmations. So that's all I'm saying. Check it out before you just sit there and be like, eh, nope, I don't want this Because you don't know how something might work. That's all I got to say on that, and I pass it along.
Speaker 1:Alrighty, then, koki, you got anything you want to add on to all that.
Speaker 4:Well, let me start off by saying, while, talos, I fully respect everything that you say, sir, my brother man, I have to disagree as a broke person. I ain't got the money to be like, just trying it out like that my guy.
Speaker 4:I am broke, I ain't got the. I don't have the money. If I'm dedicating the time to it, I want it to enjoy it. If I'm stressed out at work doing all this other stuff y'all. We got so many different projects we're doing for the zone. I am now the project manager. It's my job looking over to everybody trying to see what's going on. I work on the website. If you haven't been there, definitely check us out. Zephs and their entertainment ZoneAlliancecom Look us up. Look, I manage the website. I'm trying to do TikToks. I'm going to try to do YouTube videos. I'm going to try to do all this different type of stuff. I got five kids. If I dedicate time to something, I got to make it worth my while, especially like doing this. I enjoy doing this. But if I got to dedicate time and money to do something, I need to be worth it, bro. If I'm stressed out and I paid money and gave my time to something to be more stressed out, I can't do it bro. I'm sorry I speak for the broke people.
Speaker 3:The poor side of the world.
Speaker 4:The poor side of the world, the penny pinches I speak for the broke.
Speaker 3:I speak for the broke, Don't get me wrong. You speaking for me too. I don't get that, but I'm just saying you know.
Speaker 4:No, no, no, no, no, I'm not Because the fact that you made that statement, I was like, give it a try, I would love to. Okay, you know how, me and the full commercials I want to see. I'll be like, oh, that food look delicious, but I only got like $5. That meal cost cost 4.99 plus tax. That means they got a big bag commercial, you know. So here's the thing, here's the. I'm not expecting to look exactly like the commercial, but does it taste good? Okay, so I gotta wait on other people who had the money to waste, that had the time to waste, because if I spend money, I gotta eat that, because if it is so bad that I can't eat it, I don't have dinner for myself for that day. My god, I I'm just saying the struggle's real, okay, and we're not getting political, but, especially with this presidency, the nonsense, the lies that keep happening. I'm broke, I'm broke, I'm broke on top of broke, broke, broke, my brother.
Speaker 1:It's crazy how it wasn't until after the new presidency kicked in that we have now added tariffs to our vocabulary so tariffs have always existed. There's a bunch of people yeah, but now it's like, it's like interest yeah, it was just interest.
Speaker 4:On top of things, everybody has some type of interest. You got to make some type of money back. It's the same thing like ice cream trucks. You know, you can go get them same ice cream sandwiches for walmart for three dollars. You can get a box of 12 ice cream sandwiches for three dollars at walmart, or at least where I'm at you get for three dollars at walmart. You get that exact same. That one ice cream sandwich costs a dollar 25 and my ice cream truck okay, I'm saying, but for about double the price I can get a whole lot more. Okay, a percentage more, 200, 500% more. I'm just saying it's one of those ones that you gotta it's always interesting stuff you gotta make your money back somewhere. It's just how it works.
Speaker 4:But for reals, though, let me run through this real quick. So, first thing, jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I'm super happy we got Steel Ball Run coming through. I'm very excited to see how things are going to come through, especially with the new timeline, and I'm not spoiling, if you guys just understand. But anyway, wednesday, season 2, I'm very curious how this is going to work, especially considering the fact that we've already had two people leave the show that's supposed to be in this new season, from how the first season ended. So From how the first season ended so.
Speaker 1:I don't know what's about to happen. Oh oh, oh, hold on, hold on. Real quick, real quick. I almost forgot to mention this Our boy Pugsley. Looking at all this lurch now I'm like and how long was season one? Like? What was that? Like? I know it's not too long ago, like two years ago at least. Yeah. About two years ago at least, yeah, about two years.
Speaker 4:So it's like I'm just saying we're gonna see how it works out. I don't know. I'm curious. I'm curious. Okay, um, jeremy's man, stand up for yourself, my guy, you know, we we was able to fight back. They was trying to get to that point that they was on the sale all. They were trying to force all actors and actresses to sell rights of their faces, their voices and everything for ai and said that you have to sign these stuff. And we was able to help these, help these, um, actors and actresses. Stand up for themselves and be able to say, no, we're not going to do it and get that shut down because they, shown up, was trying to rip people off, man. So I'm very happy, stand up for yourself.
Speaker 4:You, you got paid good money for season one. People like season one. You didn't have overwhelming reviews, but okay, that's fine, it still was good and you still do a fantastic job with hawkeye. So them trying to be like oh, you get half the money for this season, you want me to do all the same work but for half the money. It's not going to work out, especially if the old dude's still recovering. You know he's. He's much better, fully recovered. You're still going to physical therapy from that accident. We still have it. He's still alive. To begin with, you really going to just cheap him like that? This is not fair, you know. So I'm just saying.
Speaker 4:But as far as about redoing this anime, I do agree with Talos on Twitter. Just look. If you don't like it, you don't like it. That's just what it is. Just don't do it Like. If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it. If you don't like it, stop watching it. That's just what it is. I'm going to be honest with you. I'm struggling right now. I'm supposed to be doing this other review right now that I'm supposed to be doing and, I'll be honest, it's difficult because I don't like the anime. Okay, I want to do an honest review. It's just not, personally for me. I almost dropped it. If y'all have not seen my TikTok talk, I was re. I just went finally watched a proud family, louder and prouder, and after the first three episodes I almost completely dropped the series no, that's crazy, because I tried to give it a chance and I'm like I don't know if I can get through.
Speaker 4:I'm gonna tell you this if you haven't seen my tip talk, you've got to get to episode four and that's what. That's the sad part about it, because y'all know me, I've talked about this in those podcasts multiple times. I give two, three episode minimum to be able to watch it and stuff like I want to at least need a third episode to kind of see it. Second episode was trash. Third episode I'm like what in the world am I watching this? Why am I even giving this a try? I only continue because my kids liked it okay, and then, once I got episode four, it actually got better. And then after that we finally got back to proud family that we saw as kids not exactly the same, but it it came very close enough to where I was able to sit and watch the series.
Speaker 4:There was some fantastic episodes. There was episodes that actually made me cry as a father, as a husband, as a man. There was episodes that made me cry, okay, like straight up, not gonnahoo crying, but still I'm just saying Like I can admit that Like it does get better, but the first three episodes is absolutely garbage. I'm not gonna lie. I'm just like what in the world is happening right now and look so, like you said, like Talo said, give it a try. You know, maybe, like you, wanna cut it off it might get better.
Speaker 1:This is coming from the guy who completed Velma. It's like I had to see does it get better? Does it get better? No, it doesn't get better, but at least I gave it a fair chance.
Speaker 4:So, yeah, it's just one of those ones we're gonna see max, all right, look, look, I said this before we started recording this podcast. Okay, uh, max, I already dropped max. Yeah, true, but um, I mean, it's up to you, I can't say, say but Max already dropped.
Speaker 4:Max. So them dropping these, dropping all these shows. That's why I already dropped Max. I was already mad. Okay To me. My wife was upset because she was all into hold on a second. I'm sorry, Batman's butler, oh, my goodness, Give me a second, Because my brain I'm old, now Deal with me. What's the butler's name? What's the butler's name?
Speaker 1:Don't help him.
Speaker 4:What do you mean? Don't help him.
Speaker 1:Disrespect.
Speaker 4:You can't even help me. You can't even help me. How do you think I?
Speaker 1:felt when we did the Assassin's Creed extreme review, y'all didn't want to help me. Nah, I'm not going to help you. Yes, I did.
Speaker 2:You left me for dead. You still remember the Butler name. You know how many remakes they done, did.
Speaker 4:Very true, the Pearl. The Client, alfred Pennyworth. You sick, I don't know why I kept wanting to say Sebastian. You know why?
Speaker 1:Because Talos did I mean we are going to get ready for a Black Butler review?
Speaker 4:That's why See, look, I told you I'm juggling so much stuff right now. Pennyworth when they dropped Pennyworth, my wife was mad. My wife was furious. Okay, it ends on a cliffhanger and they're not bringing it back. They're like no, it's just not worth it. What do you mean? It's not worth it.
Speaker 4:And you have the nerve to be like. You have the nerve to drop good shows and then say, oh, if y'all pirate and stuff, we're gonna get y'all internet cut off. No, you ain't, don't you even dare. You wanna know what? The reason that you can't do it? Because you're gonna lose one of your biggest sponsors. Vpns Y'all sponsor, y'all get sponsored by VPNs.
Speaker 4:Vpn, literally Nord VPN. The biggest thing is the fact that you can use it To switch Netflix From different areas that you could be at. Talk about, I got different shows in different area codes because of NordVPN, and I'm mad they didn't even put that in the commercial yet, because that's fine, anyway, but still, it's the fact that, like, why would you? Don't you even try? Because guess what, if you cut the internet access, guess what that means? We can't watch all Congratulations. You shot yourself in the foot by being dicks, anyway. So it's too much. It's entirely too much. I'm happy Devil May Cry is getting season two. I'm definitely preparing for the review. I actually personally like Devil May Cry, the Netflix anime series. I was really excited about it. I was nervous about it, really loved it. We definitely have a review coming for that pretty soon. There's definitely some pointers that a lot of people really hate it. We'll get a chance to talk about that. Otherwise, that's all I got though.
Speaker 1:Tuck, you got anything for television news?
Speaker 2:First of all let me say JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The best JoJo Is Mojo JoJo. I just want you to know. He is a part of it. He's a JoJo, you know. I just want everybody to know this.
Speaker 3:Um, by all means, I want you to understand that you still on the hit list. You're just adding more fuel to the fire.
Speaker 2:Continue Might. I also just say that he is a victim still To this day, and HBO Max is. It has a soft spot in my heart, but only because you can watch all the Harryry potter movies on there. That's the only reason I feel that I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you.
Speaker 1:If I didn't hear that season eight of rick and morty is coming out because I need to get caught up on the rick and morty stream review we still didn't do season seven yet if I didn't have to prepare for season seven and eight, I would have been dropping max honestly, because I I can't, no, except for the dc stuff. Other than that, I'm like I don't see a real reason to keep it around, like I'll resubscribe just to watch certain things for reviews and then, once I pretty much finish my watch list, cut it back off I really need to watch that because every time I rewatch it I can't get past that one episode where the dog took over the world.
Speaker 2:It just made me mad and I stopped watching after that episode.
Speaker 4:Stop spoiling it. I'm never going to watch it. Stop spoiling it.
Speaker 2:That's season one, episode two.
Speaker 1:Wait, hold on. Did you never seen Rick and Morty?
Speaker 2:No, not past that episode.
Speaker 4:Oh, a message, I do yeah.
Speaker 1:I know you've been on at least a couple of seasons on the review.
Speaker 4:I know. I mean I have, I guess he hasn't. I'm actually surprised. I could have sworn he was on some time.
Speaker 2:Nah.
Speaker 4:I just seen stuff.
Speaker 2:Online.
Speaker 1:That's it, nah like when we did Rick and Morty. That was like way early in our Podcast career and he wasn't on the show for that.
Speaker 2:I see Da da, da da the beginning. After the end I'm not understanding why the fans Lost the petition to cancel it, because I, before I even knew about the docket, I watched the first like four episodes and I liked it. I was like dang. I can't wait for another episode to come out. And I don't know, maybe it's because somebody may have read the manga and it may differ, but show seemed pretty good to me. I also want to issue a public apology to Talos. Now, I'm not saying that I should always listen to Talos, but Talos was right in this particular issue.
Speaker 4:Yo yo this being recorded? Right? This is being recorded, isn't it? Listen, Talos. You better record this for your personal reference, Uh-uh.
Speaker 2:I need to hear this. I wanted to wait and wait for the show to come out, wait for another season and I should I could have new, all the information.
Speaker 1:Actually, I am so glad you brought that up, because I was going to mention this in book news, but I kind of dropped the ball on that. Apparently, we need to show our support as fans to petition for season three to come out, but all I'm saying is hold on. Season two did great, so why do you need our help again? It literally got animation.
Speaker 4:It literally got. So this is nonsense. What it is is that it wound up getting Because it got nominated for being anime of the year, but it didn't get anime of the year. And they wanted to come out.
Speaker 3:That's what that is, and they wanted to come out what they wanted to come out earlier Than's what that is, and they want to come out what they want to come out earlier than what it was estimated for. Because we would have to wait a year for season three.
Speaker 3:We would have to wait a year for season three to come out, but folks want season three to come out early. And here's where I say again, and I press the button Read a book, read a book, read a motherfucking book. I've said it a thousand and one times. I'm going to preach it to the highest mountains and the lowest seas Read.
Speaker 1:Also you can't rush. Art Read.
Speaker 2:You can't rush art.
Speaker 1:Like folks don't understand the concept of read, I promise you I mean, do you want that animation to be clean as butt weight motherfucker?
Speaker 3:Also also I tell anybody you definitely need to read now because you will definitely see why quote unquote Japan cut out that fight. I'm still going to say that, but you know that's accurate.
Speaker 1:Alright, what else you got.
Speaker 2:How the streaming giants going to work on a lot of cut off people's internet, how they going to tell me I can't watch pirate content I'm still on my one piece journey how they just going to do this to us. I'm not understanding, but it's okay.
Speaker 1:Y'all do realize how counterintuitive that is, because who the fuck is going to watch your streaming services if you're cutting their internet off?
Speaker 2:That don't make no sense. And then, who going to pay my internet bill? I want to know that how long it's going to be cut off. Pay my internet bill. I want to know that how long it's going to be cut off Because I ain't paying that internet bill. If it's cut off, they going to pay that bill Ain't no way, because my $85 to AT&T going to be $85 worth of internet.
Speaker 1:Imagine you're trying to ruin the livelihood of the average citizen just because you didn't want to put on the right stuff on your streaming platforms. Imagine that?
Speaker 2:And how dare they try to change Toph up? How dare they? The base of the character is a bad ass. Hardcore ain't fucking with no humans, person I mean.
Speaker 1:I don't know. It's the kind of fuck with humans I mean just like.
Speaker 2:No, it's the kind of fuck with humans in the beginning, like when Aang first meet her. She ain't fucking with nobody, she mean, and then she go and live in the woods by herself when she get older. Okay, you got get older.
Speaker 1:Okay, you got a point.
Speaker 2:Like bro, what's it need to be slightly more feminine. For her it don't even make no sense. Her base character, hollywood, is tripping. Well, let me digress. Hollywood been tripping because they ain't making no more original content. They just gonna keep remaking stuff. However, in this particular case, you have literally framework to go by.
Speaker 1:All y'all do is copy and paste word for word, bar for bar, and it'll be dope my main thing is stop remaking things that doesn't need a remake and focus on things that kind of do deserve a take two there's so much stuff in the last airbender you can do any kind of character avatar.
Speaker 2:Avatar with the paint on her face. What's her name? Avatar kiyoshi, right, I think that was her face, what's?
Speaker 1:her name, avatar Kiyoshi Kiyoshi.
Speaker 4:I think that was the one that was killing people. So you'll help him, but you won't help me.
Speaker 3:What was that Avatar name? You were worried about Kiyoshi.
Speaker 2:She was killing niggas, she was stabbing niggas. That's what you want to see. We want to see fire and blood, because we didn't get it in Game of Thrones.
Speaker 3:That's what we want to see. What you mean you ain't get any Game of Thrones. What Game of Thrones did you watch that you ain't got fire and blood and brimstone.
Speaker 2:Man, we ain't get enough. I want to see more damage. I want to see more gore. I want to see stuff that make me want to throw up. Like what's the name of that thing? Like, what's the name of that thing? See, coco Gossip got people just not remembering stuff. That's what it is. What's that movie where they sold the face to the booty?
Speaker 3:See, I love you, but I'm not helping you with that one because I know what you're talking about. However, I am going to say this you cannot blame gossip for you having dementia. That's your fault. That's nobody else's fault but your own. So, on that note, I'm going back to where I was.
Speaker 4:So that's why y'all decided to help him, but wouldn't help me.
Speaker 3:Oh, I'm not helping him. You see, I'm not helping him. No, no.
Speaker 1:No, no, no, no. Honestly, I didn't get enough content of what he said, so I don't even know what he's talking about right now.
Speaker 2:They had part two of that movie too. The movie was crazy, but that's all I got on TV shows.
Speaker 1:Alrighty, then let's get to my favorite part of the Nerdy news special Game whoa, back up Sports. I forgot we're doing a new thing when we mention sports because technically, depending on how you look at it, it goes between television and gaming. But I'll make this real quick. John Cena defeats Cody Rhodes and WrestleMania becomes the WWE champion for the 17th time. Jey Uso defeats Gunther to become wait a minute, they both are world champions. I don't know, maybe it's like I don't know, that was weird. Anyways, in other news at WWE they also brought out the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. And in hockey news, some guy named Alexander they also brought out the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. And in hockey news, some guy named Alexander Ovechkin I hope that, pronounced that correctly now holds the record for the most goals scored ever in the history of the National Hockey League. Okay, kind of interesting. Let's go ahead and get into gaming news for real this time.
Speaker 1:Alright, rockstar delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 to May 26th. It was due out later on this year. In a statement they did apologize for the delay, expected to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time, and I'm like, eh well, whatever, uh, just more time to probably pony up what a hundred dollars because people are saying it's gonna be like a hundred dollars. Maybe they're projecting a hundred dollars, but you know, at this point we're kind of expecting games to be at least 80. We're not happy about it, but that's the time we're in now. Uh, anyways, microsoft speaking of raising prices. Microsoft is raising prices on the xbox consoles, controllers and headsets. Game prices will stay the same for now, but we should expect to see xbox charging 80 for new first party games around the holiday season. And, by the way, the xbox series each of them, like the series x and the series s is going to be like roughly a hundred dollars more. But they've been out for a while. Why are you bringing the price up? That's the weird part.
Speaker 1:Nintendo is thrilled by the enthusiasm fans have for the Switch 2 and updated its website to say that the delivery of the console at June 5th launch day is not guaranteed. And while the Nintendo Switch 2's price hasn't changed, the cost of its accessories has shifted across the board by about five dollars. I checked and initial reactions indicate this might change. Early adopters pre-order plan. So in other words, if y'all went out and got the pre-orders first of all, I'm happy for you, but similar to the ps5 fsco. There might be a chance where your pre-order might get canceled out of nowhere and I hope that doesn't happen. But at this point I'm not even surprised anymore when it comes to new console launches, like it's always going to be messy, because there's always going to be a whole lot of people wanting these consoles and some of them aren't even real gamers, they're just scalpers trying to Take advantage of gamers Moving on this one, oh god, this one.
Speaker 1:So this pro player, necros, started some bullshit where Marvel Rivals support players are idiots and morons and some strategist mains just tried to call in a strike where it's like they refuse to play as healers. You know, because he's kind of feeding into this whole toxic dynamic to where a lot of people don't want to play as healers anyways. But honestly, I kind of feel that from playing overwatch because I don't mind playing as healers I just don't like it when it feels like nobody else wants to be a healer, despite the fact that healers are a very important role in order for survivability in the game. But people are like oh well, you know, we can't like. You know, people want to be gloryhounds and get the most kills and I'm like, if that's the case, just play COD, because it sounds to me like you want to be the star of the show.
Speaker 1:But it's team-based shooters. That means you have to cooperate with people. It's not just you, buddy. But moving on, elder scrolls 4 oblivion remaster is now out. It is doing great and for those of you that's on xbox and pc, you can go ahead and download it at no extra cost with a gamepad subscription. But if you're on ps5 and just want to own the game on xbox or pc, you either have to pay 50 or 60 if you want the deluxe edition. Clear obscure expedition 33. It did very good. It sold half a million copies and it was by a small gaming studio, which I love about that.
Speaker 1:It's like sample interactive. By the way, I love how these small people like maybe like 50 people made just an awesome game. It gives me hope to where I'm like I don't need to hire a whole bunch of people if I were to make my own gaming studio. I just need like just enough people to make it work. I like that borderlands 4 is launching on september Ooh one day after my birthday.
Speaker 1:Sony has confirmed Ghost of Yotei, released on October 2nd. Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment. You might remember them doing Apex Legends that's coming out soon. Here's something kind of sad Shinya Okada. He had this original Pokemon Red save data from 1996. I believe it got corrupted, he lost his data and he was so sad that it generated a whole lot of sympathy from the fans and it was even featured on Japanese entertainment news. So I'm like, I definitely feel the sentiment Because I'm like yeah.
Speaker 1:I guess, because you know, trust me, when I played Pokemon I sunk hours into training on my Pokemon and all that shit. So I would be so pissed, pissed. I still remember one time when that happened to me before and I was kind of mad, but then again I got over eventually. But he had sympathy for sure. I definitely feel that.
Speaker 1:But moving on, layoffs at ea, that affected around 300 people and the company has cancelled another project at Respawn Entertainment which was reportedly supposed to be set in the Titanfall universe. So I'm like we could have had a Titanfall 3 or something similar, or it's supposed to be an extraction shooter, but I'm like I don't know. That's kind of a shame, but also not surprising in today's time. A lot of people from the game industry is being laid off for some reason, one reason or another. Speaking of layoffs, the New York creator, yoko Taro, believes that AI will replace game creators in 50 years. No, the hell, they won't. Believe that AI will replace game creators in 50 years. No, the hell, they won't, because I plan on being one of those game creators and I'm not going to let some sort of AI replace me, you know.
Speaker 1:And last but not least, I mean not that big of a deal, but you know, if you like Zenless Zone Zero and you have an Xbox, guess what? It's going on Xbox soon. So there's something. So that is it for gaming news. Let's go ahead and start this off with Kokugasu. How are you feeling about gaming news?
Speaker 4:Okay, I'll make mine real quick because, to be honest, I don't have too much into it. So, yeah, we'll just keep it simple. For one Grand Theft Auto being passed around. Look, we have said this time and time again I'd rather you delay it and it be good Than you rush it and it be garbage. That's all I'm finna say. Keep it simple. You gotta delay it, you gotta delay it. Just don't make the same mistake that Duke Nukem did. Just don't push it. 10 years, 50 years later, type shit, oh, it would be good. So, as far as about my, every it's been proven this year is going to happen. Every single gaming company is going to do something that pisses us off, pisses us off.
Speaker 4:It started last year. It's going to happen again. Nintendo was already really pushing. Things was like hey, guess what? You want to play some new classics? Well, you have to pay extra to be able to do so, and then keep releasing all these articles. They'll be like oh, they added this for free. They added this for free. No, you're still paying a subscription. It's not added for free, you're still paying for it. You have to pay extra. Please stop lying to me. Okay, anyway, I'm just saying Nintendo's did it.
Speaker 4:The PlayStation. Sony has definitely pissed fans off about the fact and from my understanding I still don't have a PS5, but from my understanding is you still boot up the PS5 and it still plays ads in the background. So you're not like you have to watch ads for playing your PS5 type thing versus having your own personal background. You can change the theme, but it does not actually change the background theme. You still have to deal with those ads playing in the background. You still have to deal with those ads playing in the background. You can no longer have like your personal space anymore into it and because of the fact that most digital because most ps5 are digital that have been sold there have been quite a few that were sold with the game disc, but most people purchase digital. You take it offline. You're not playing on your games, even if you download it. You have to have an internet connection for it to recognize that you purchased the game, to verify your quote-unquote ownership. We all know you don't own it.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 4:Gaming companies have done everything.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, Remember when.
Speaker 1:I was saying about how with physical media and Blu-rays, it's going to be impossible to watch certain media. And I'm like, think about it, Gaming consoles were the closest thing to Blu-ray players that we had, Since nobody's gonna like own a Straight up Blu-ray, I mean if you do good for you. But nowadays A gaming console well, it's up For the Switch, is pretty much our Blu-ray player and you pretty much get rid Of the disc drive. So how are we gonna watch the Blu-ray player? I'm gonna watch the Blu-ray player. How are we going to watch the movie? Get rid of the disk drive.
Speaker 4:That's just what it is. They want to have full control into stuff. It's like, oh, we can release updates into it. No, it just means that you can also, because PlayStation just quite like they're doing this a lot. They quietly getting rid of stuff.
Speaker 1:Xbox has not done it recently, so Microsoft is the only one that so far has done it recently.
Speaker 4:But Sony has removed games from the PlayStation Store. So even if you had and unfortunately what's happening now, before it was that even if it was removed, as long as you still had the download into it, you still could do it. But now it's actually been proven on some games that have been removed from the playstation store. Because the access has been removed, it no longer can. It can no longer verify that you own it anymore. So there are certain games that have been downloaded onto your system that, because it's been removed, you still can't play it even though it's downloaded anymore, because it's been removed and it can't verify even though you're connected to the internet. So unfortunately they haven't. It's already proven. You don't own your games.
Speaker 4:And as sony just shut down, um last month was, yeah, like last month in april, they had shut down because they had a um, had a software issue and at that moment nobody could game. It was gone for an entire week. It was done, like you, for an entire week, for an entire weekend you couldn't do anything. And they're like hey, I'm sorry, we're gonna give y'all ten dollar credit. Seriously, he's gonna give you ten dollar credit, bruh, I couldn't gain nothing that part I'm like seriously though, and so, look, we're at a point that we had, and talosos has said it.
Speaker 4:I follow so many YouTubers, I follow so many TikTokers that all have said the same thing. This is our time to stand up, and we failed again, and, like, most people, failed again, and this is what I mean by it. The Tenno Switch like was not on this list, but it's something important to understand. You know they've already released out the price line for it, and that's going to like six hundred dollars for the switch, unless you're in the us.
Speaker 1:Tariff is gonna make it more expensive, unfortunately, and oh wait, it's the fact that was that was last nerdy news, because the reason why I didn't put that in, because I meant then the last nerdy news special that's no.
Speaker 4:No, that's fine, that's fine. So, but but what's new, confirmed here, is that nintendo switch is that, uh, nintendo has confirmed that all the pre-orders have been sold out. And now, if you want to get the Switch, if you want to get the Switch now, if you did not pre-order it, it is now $700 to get it. It is a $200 jump. Well, no, it's $100 because it was about $600. It is a $100 jump because you failed to pre-order in time now to get the game and it's also still up if you decide to get the mario world pre-order one, if you want to get that. So now you're punished for not pre-ordering in time. And it's like, seriously and unfortunately, they're still making their money right now. They still. There's people still paying 700 for it right now it's. We had an opportunity to stand it up and it didn't work. And now they've all confirmed about the price increase, for all their games is going to be starting at this straight up. They have now said it, have now confirmed that that is what the price point is going to be. It will not drop any lower. That is not what it's going to be into that.
Speaker 4:So, while the Microsoft has not decided to change their game prices. Yet unfortunately that is a yet Sony has already been in talks of doing so. Grand Theft Auto was originally supposed to be their first game that was released in a higher price point to see if people were really going to buy it. And they knew people was going to buy it. It was not a question. But because of that aspect, like, they pushed it back. But there's far as some of these other games is going to wind up happening too. They pushed it back, but as far as some of these other games, it's going to wind up happening too. So, in all honesty, I'm powering the old games now. To be honest with you, bro, I ain't playing nothing new in a while. I'm old school and stuff at this point, because I already told y'all earlier, I'm broke, I'm brokeity, broke, broke, broke.
Speaker 1:So it's broke, broke, broke. So it's uh, I'm imagining people rolling up to stores and whatnot, cussing out, uh, the vendors for raising the price, but at the same time they're slowly pulling out the wallet, counting up the money and handing it to.
Speaker 4:I'm like you're complaining, but you're still paying them. That is exactly exactly what is happening, straight up, man. This is what we're dealing with and it is unfortunately, again, this is something we dug ourselves. We was already hitting that point and, like I told you before, the most ps5s that was sold was the digital only. The fact that again, we had an opportunity of proving no, we want physical, we want to still be able to own our games, and most people said nope, don't want to do it. And it's like, and it continues to happen, it continues to keep going. And it's like, dude, just we letting these corporations take over, man, like we have an opportunity to stand up for ourselves and it's not happening.
Speaker 4:Um, last point into it I feel that dude, about the Pokemon red man, straight up, I actually was just watching. I'm not even joking. It was about a couple of hours before we did this. I was watching an AITA. What it is is that this lady went online and was like am I the asshole for the fact that I deleted my husband's New Horizons information, his gaming stuff?
Speaker 4:I want you to understand. When she wrote down what happened, bro, straight up, it was one of those moments like um, so what it was is that her husband, during the quarantine, was playing the game and he had put over 700 hours in before he finally had to physically go back into work. So he was playing it all the time. So he wasn't playing it as much because he's physically back into work, but it doesn't mean that he didn't like the game. He just wasn't able to play it as much because he's working more. That's just what it is.
Speaker 4:So she wanted to play the game and she and she asked him permission. He was like, yeah, by all means. And so she did not know, because she doesn't play the switch like that, she does not know that about setting up a new profile to go ahead and create something, she didn't ask her husband this information, nothing like that. She went onto the profile and saw there was only one file and she was like, okay, well, he's not going to mind and deleted over 700 hours of his gameplay, everything, all his map, all that, all the items, everything that he built, completely deleted it. Okay, he was so angry he said he went and go spit the night At his mom and dad's Because he said he needed some space Because he didn't want to go off on her. I understand.
Speaker 4:So it's like I'm saying to you, like personally for me, like straight up For me, it was Castlevania, lord of Shadows. Lord of Shadows, that game. I got all the way to the final boss. I was one hit away from defeating Satan in that game Okay, one hit away. I finally got through, got through all them tough battles. The game glitched. I lost all of my day. Oh my God, three and a half weeks worth of me playing this game gone in just that moment because of a single glitch that happened and I'm sitting here like I have not picked that game back up.
Speaker 1:I'm still mad.
Speaker 2:I lost my horse.
Speaker 1:I used to play Final Fantasy 14 heavily. I swear to god, I think I sinked in at least 500 hours in there. I forgot my login information. And for the play for me, I swear to god, I think that's um think they're like at least 500 hours in there. I forgot my login information and for the like me, I tried to do recovery and whatnot, but they wouldn't help me out. So essentially, I'm just out of 500 hours of progress yes, yes, straight up, and that's another one.
Speaker 4:Mmos, bruh, they own, they own it. All it takes is that one forget password, like you just said, your stuff gone and then you can do about it.
Speaker 2:It's gone. I don't remember what year it was, but Legend of Zelda, ocarina of Time, nintendo 64, memory Card, freaking, messed up my freaking horse. I'm still mad to this day. You know how hard that game was.
Speaker 4:Yes, ocarina of Time, twilight Princess, playstation 2, that memory card. Oh man, just literally let you have purchased a memory card and it wound up being faulty. You put all that data onto it and then you just accidentally tried to save a game and it wasn't enough space into it but because it was a faulty one completely wiped your data, all of it, all whatever 20 games you had on there just gone. And he's just like and.
Speaker 2:I'm mad because I love Nintendo 64 and I had Super Smash Brothers on there and my mama gave while I was in business training and my mama gave while I was in business training, gave my Nintendo 64 to my uncles, knowing my uncle a crackhead. Come on now, hello somebody. You probably sold it for $5. Right?
Speaker 4:Not much more than that is worth now.
Speaker 4:And this is the last point that I have on to this If you guys are listening very much, if y'all have kids, understand this, okay, punishing your kids by deleting their game data is that is cruel and unusual punishment. If you, at this point of saying, oh, it's just a game, tell them it's just a game, no, no, it's more than just a game. If your kid has spent time and energy into something, y'all know the three things that we spend into it we spend energy, we spend time and we spend money into it. We spend energy, we spend time and we spend money into it. It's important, straight up. Okay, it is important. It is our escape from reality. It's our escape from the complete fuck hole that we deal with. It's escape from all this type of thing. It is our momentary of peace, a moment of understanding, a moment of finally being able to release ourselves, being able to be true to ourselves and doing what it is that we want to do. That allows us to be us. That is what it means as a gamer. Okay, you can say this, I'm an artist.
Speaker 4:It's the exact same thing for me as my art. I am still, to this day, mad because there's two people in this world that I absolutely will not forgive, because I spent hours on pieces working and they got angry with me and decided to ruin them on purpose in front of me, because they wanted to prove a point that it was just a picture. No, what you ruined was 20 plus hours of my time. What you ruined was $100 worth of art equipment that I used and spent to be able to do this. You have ruined my time, my money and the peace that I had in doing this.
Speaker 4:It's the same thing for them games, saying that, oh, it's just a game. No, it's not, because let's go ahead and let's take something. Let's go. I don't know whether mothers, fathers, take them golf clubs, them shoes, them dresses, all that stuff, everything that you want to hold on to your collections, and all that type of stuff. It's just a collection. It was just a simple hobby. No, don't you dare. It's cruel and unusual. You will make it to where your kids will never talk to you again. You will make sure you'll get into a home. Don't do that.
Speaker 4:That's all I got. That's all I got for gaming.
Speaker 1:You know what, you know what. Just imagine the day comes and they just like so that's how you're gonna do me. You're not gonna save me from the nursing home. I like you didn't save my data. I like you're making this about some data. I'm like, clearly you don't understand the meaning of dedication. Like, I spent Hours, days, weeks, months To get that far, and what you're not going to do Is discount my progress. See ya, anyways. And what you're not going to do is discount my progress, see ya, anyways. Let's go ahead and blaze through the rest of the nerdy news. Before we do that, tell us you got anything you want to add on to gaming news.
Speaker 3:I sure do. Oh, yes, yes, yes. So real quick, and I want to say this I am with Kokugatsu when it comes to these things. If you and as a person who is a big MMO fan, who plays MMOs on a daily if you threaten my MMO data, not only will I divorce you, not only will we no longer be friends, no longer will we even remotely know each other. I will make sure the last thing you see is me dropping a nuke from orbit onto your current location. Do not I repeat, do not touch my save data.
Speaker 3:There's a reason as to why, when I tell you I work hard on something, don't touch it. Leave my stuff alone. There's a reason as to why, when I tell you I work hard on something, don't touch it. Leave my stuff alone. That aside, one I already knew about uh-uh, grant that volume, tell us. How did you know? What did you mean? Because, with everything, the way it was going when Nintendo did the whole thing, oh, we're going to push things up to $80. I want y'all to understand and I'm going to hit on that real quick the reason Nintendo pushed things up to $80, the reason Nintendo pushed things up to $80 wasn't just on a money grab for them. This was a shot at the US.
Speaker 1:I bet you a pre-order anyways.
Speaker 3:This was a shot at the? U. You ask oh no, they're going to pre-order, but now they're going to be mad. Who you going to be mad at? You going to be mad at us or you going to be mad at the person who, literally I'm like like Nintendo knew what they were doing Rockstar delaying Grand Theft Auto 6.
Speaker 3:I want y'all to understand they wanted to be, they want it to be. They're going to try to put it at $80, but they want it to be worth the $80. They want to make sure that it's worth $80, so that way you're not complaining about, oh, it's $80, but it's not worth. It's not an $80 game. Nah, they want you to get your money's worth. That's one thing I will give Rockstar. With their Grand Theft Auto series, they try to make sure you have your money's worth, because they want you to buy them shark cards. Oh yeah, they want to make sure they make their money off of you. Now, outside of that, microsoft, I'm not surprised, I'm not, not even a bit. That's why I'm even not gonna harp on them. Uh, nintendo, nintendo, you. I do hope they, I do hope somebody just cripples all of your ceos at one point. Just please cripple them. I know that that's horrible to say, but it's just me saying it like it is. Y'all know y'all wrong for that.
Speaker 1:You know what would be ironic If a guy named Luigi did it? That's horrible.
Speaker 3:Alright, going through here, necros. First off to the fans. Yet again. Why are y'all sitting here listening to streams? Just cause this person's a pro player? Y'all wanna listen to the pro players. You know what's crazy.
Speaker 1:You know what's crazy I hear every now and then I'll make it real quick. Every now and then I hear some ninjas take on Marvel Rivals and I'm sitting there like it's crazy how this god of fortnite jumps on marvel rivals and kind of complaining like a bitch and I'm like you're like, oh well, it's okay, guys like they. Um, people talking about, oh, he's crashing out man, there ain't no crash. I like he. I mean yeah, like I hear where he's coming from, but I'm like there ain't no real crash. I like crashing Not for real, it's not.
Speaker 3:It's not, it's just being truthful and it's like you know. Like I say, necros literally opened his mouth and now you got the community in the uproar. One, the community shouldn't listen to you anyway. What is your opinion? But nothing but silliness. One, the community shouldn't listen to you anyway. What is your opinion? But nothing but silliness. Folks just shouldn't play with you. Like, legit, no, no, no. You want to be a pro player? Cool, be a pro player by yourself. Play solo, see if folks jump in there with you. Oh, look, hold on, nah, wait, ain't that necro's character? Ain't that necro name right there? Quick, uh boot. Why y'all booting me? Because, remember, we like to have strategists on our team. We like to heal. You don't like healers. That's just how you do that. That, right, there is legit. How you punish players like that. Like, go ahead. Since he called healers idiots and morons, cool, he don't need healers. He don't need healers. Everybody else can play healers and go on about y'all's day.
Speaker 3:Now, as far as it goes, continuing, like I say, I'm not going to touch on Oblivion. Oblivion was good. I'm happy that it looks the way it looks. Claire Obscure. Once again, congrats. I'm proud for it. I'm proud that they did great. I'm proud it does. Let me know that you don't have to have a big studio to do something. So I am proud of that. Borderlands Y'all. Believe me, brother, I'm telling y'all netcode being trash man. Borderlands 3 netcode is trash, like it disconnects. You have to nigger rig to figure out ways around it.
Speaker 3:Yeah, let's see I am sad about the Pokemon Red because I understand that man Working hard with so many Mons and then all of a sudden to see it just go blip because quote unquote the battery died see, that's why we gotta like save our data like it's a addiction.
Speaker 1:I gotta keep making sure I save it like every step I take. I make sure my data is saved, because it can like cut off at any moment. I'm like I wanna make sure my data is saved that part, the fact that off at any moment.
Speaker 3:I'm like I want to make sure my data is saved. That part, the fact that Yoko Taro believes that AI will replace game creators one, I wholeheartedly hope not, but two, the way things are going, it might be a reality somewhere out there, but I hope not. Not for mine, Not in this timeline at least. And that's all I got for now, and I'm going to end that right there.
Speaker 1:Gotcha Tuck, you got anything you want to add on to gaming news.
Speaker 2:I want to go back just a little bit to sports because I'm about to cry my baby mama. Breaking news got released from the WWE Jakara Jackson. I am just gonna drop my baby mama. Who is your baby mama? Jakara Jackson? She's so fine. She was developing great and then they just gonna drop her like a bad habit. But it's fine because she can always come home. Rockstar gets on my freaking nerves. Look, I'm gonna take the opposite approach of what y'all talking about. They had 10 years to perfect this game. They had so much time Another year.
Speaker 1:Yeah, true, true, it was being teased for so many years. Grand Theft Auto V was on three generations now.
Speaker 2:Yes, Yep, it's projected to make a billion dollars in pre-sales, pre-sales. You would think they want a billion dollars, but no, they want to keep giving us dates and then giving us another date. Give us a trailer Saying Cardi B gonna be twerking in it, whole bunch of stuff, and then you know what?
Speaker 1:Oh man, I heard it b gonna be twerking in it whole bunch of stuff. And then you know, oh man, I heard it was like gonna be like 4k, like so hyper realistic, like I. I mean exactly I hear what. Uh, tell us what's saying. Where it's like, okay, I can see grand theft auto 6 being an 80 dollar game because you're gonna get like a really big not like super big world, but like detailed enough. Where it's like, okay, okay, you got me here. But then, oh, yeah, that's how we get you, though that's how we get you. We start off with the really good games and once you get comfortable paying $80, we'll put out something to where I'm like, okay, accidentally fought. We'll put out something when I'm like, okay, accidentally, we honestly did our best. But I mean, we can't please everybody, but it is what it is. But then the more they get comfortable, it's like alright, let's see how low can we lower the bar, and they'll still pay for it.
Speaker 2:I don't care if it's $40, $80, $100. Grand Theft Auto is bought, I don't care what the price is. I'm going to buy it, but not releasing it just because, at least, at least, let your boy be a beater Like dang. But aside from that, yeah, sort of online reference. So the only other thing I wanted to comment on was the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. That's gonna be pretty dope. I've been excited for that since the original announcement, so I think that gonna be pretty dope. I've been excited for that Since the original announcement, so I think that'll be pretty good. And, um, the layoffs At EA. I'm hoping that doesn't Affect the NCAA Release. But aside from that, that's all I got.
Speaker 1:Alright, we don't got A whole lot of news left. That was pretty much the um Meaty potatoes of the nerdy news special, just one in music. I already mentioned books and got a little bit of miscellaneous and we'll go ahead and close the nerdy news. So in music, honestly I kind of dropped the ball on, like musical releases, but surprisingly enough, utada hikaru you know simple and clean kingdom hearts she was at coachella and everybody like, super surprised, I like, is that what I think it is? And moving on to miscellaneous, six women, including Katy Perry, were scheduled to be launched into space for about 11 minutes on Monday. Well, back when it was a thing, because you know it's kind of old news. Now, because you know, we're just recapping what happened in April On a blue Origin rocket, a liftoff that would mark the first all-female space flight since 1963. Shout out to Wendy's yeah, james Citron steps down as CEO of Discord to be replaced by Amom Soknini. I try my best with that pronunciation, the former vice chairman of Activision Blizzard.
Speaker 1:The thirsty gamers have won as far as the hyper real stellar blade statues by jnd studios were sold out within minutes. The one-third scale collectibles, by the way, for reference, if you're thinking like one third scale. Imagine it being like almost well, pretty big, like one six would be like almost a foot tall. So, like, imagine these statues being like fairly big. It's gonna be very noticeable if you put it on your desktop. But anyways, a one third scale collectible feature um the game's main protagonist, eve and Tachi. While they are impressively realistic, each figure costs $2,200. However, those who were looking for a bargain to score both characters for a bundle price of $3,600, and of course they did just that Moving on oh, finally, something that makes sense a little bit, I mean, I'm gonna say more than that, but like it depends on how you feel about it.
Speaker 1:Japanese lawmakers are considering making ghibli ai art illegal, and I'm like, okay, to be fair, at first I thought it was kind of interesting, but it was getting a little too far. Like the more popular. It was Kind of interesting, but it was getting a little too far. Like the more popular it was popping off, the more it was like this is going down A road that I don't like. Speaking of going down roads that I don't like, us schools have decided to ban Anime club funding, which means no more anime club in schools, and I'm thinking like, didn't we have an anime club funding, which means no more anime club in schools, and I'm thinking like didn't we have an anime club at?
Speaker 4:yes, we did. I'm the former treasurer of the anime club that lost the high school back when we was in the. Yes, bro.
Speaker 1:Anyways, us Customs sees 2000 anime Figures, labeling them as obscene Imports, really, anyways. Last thing on Nerdy news and Honestly I want to say this came out kind of Late, like not Report. I mean, why is he talking about this now when he could have talked about this a little sooner than? I don't know, maybe the power of hollywood, but anyways, I'm just gonna go ahead and edit. Terrence howard, just let it all out. During a wild sit-down interview, accusing the industry of pushing men to give up their integrity for success, he claims that the diddler tried to, you know, diddle while pretending to set up acting blessings and that many who went to those hollywood parties lost their sense of self for good. He also said that Justin Bieber never recovered from what happened to him behind the scenes and Terrence Howard said that he lost business deals, was blackballed and missed out on roles, all because he refused to quote. Unquote, bend over in that way. That's all I got for music. Slash miscellaneous. Let's start it over.
Speaker 2:I can't hold my tongue. Yeah, I was going to start with you anyways. Listen Terrence Howard man. I blame Aaron Magruder.
Speaker 1:Oh go on.
Speaker 2:Niggas ain't got checks and balances because they ain't worried about being in an episode of the Boondocks. That's why I blame Aaron McGruder. He stop people from saying wild stuff. I also blame Cat Williams.
Speaker 1:Where he going with this.
Speaker 2:He know he was in Boondocks and then, starting January of 2024, he came out on the podcast and then done, set a precedent. Now everybody's saying everything that come to their heart. We got to keep some stuff inside. We just got to hold on to some stuff. We got to let these secrets come out a little slip at a time and get them prepared for it, like the government did. Aliens it's so vast that when the aliens actually came out, niggas was like it don't matter. Government yeah, aliens exist, but you know these tariffs.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know what I just saw like a recent thing where they were saying like oh, we got now. We now got more evidence that aliens are real. I'm like we're not worried about that, we're worried about how the fuck we're gonna afford eggs that's a fact, they've been told us.
Speaker 2:The government been admitted. You know, I mean, like last year, last summer, we've been like the year, yeah, now the season of over 2,000 anime figurines. It was some, some weed, you know, that wanted to collect all of those and just use it as an excuse. I would do the same thing, so I understand that. So, um, the only other thing I don't think. Hold on, hold on. No only other thing I wanted to talk about was his music. Of course, I gotta highlight my baby mama, and Beyonce did start her Cowboy Carter tour. It's going fantastic. The Atlanta show was dope. Kendrick Lamar also was in Atlanta with SZA starting the mid leg of his tour, and always I gotta hit you with some music.
Speaker 1:I just love it when those two collab like it's always a joint when it's um Kendrick collab okay and um, some of the releases.
Speaker 2:For you know, fridays, every Friday, some music release. Dolce came out with some new joint, now X to the Z exhibit, and Ice Cube dropped a new single. It's called For the Love and it's really dope. 2 Chainz and the Isley Brothers, which is crazy pairing. They dropped the ATL Experience, which is pretty good.
Speaker 2:Now Snoop Dogg I don't know if you recall, but he bought Death Row Records Alright and he dropped. But he bought Death Row Records Alright and he dropped an album called Death Row Records at Altercall. So that's gonna be pretty cool. I'm gonna check that out and then give y'all some more information to follow up on that. Benny came out with Excelsior Little callback to Marvel there, and then all the other highlights is 100-fold drop single called. Is that real life? So it's some old miscellaneous stuff up, but I'll post it up on tiktok, so just check me out at tuck. Uchiha, of course, uh, we'll release anything music, uh, usually every friday. So just check me out on my story on that on Fridays and we can get it popping, alright, alright, and that was all you had.
Speaker 1:On music and miscellaneous, yes, alright, bad, bad, bad, kokugatsu what you got.
Speaker 4:I just had to take a moment to understand because, like I said, as a former treasurer of the anime club in Valdosta High School, cutting funding, I bet, don't worry, I got you. I got you got you. You ticked me off anyway. First off, I'm very happy that utada hikaru was able to go ahead and make it.
Speaker 4:Um, there has been a lot, a lot of issues right now of foreign people coming into america, in and out. There are still so many issues right now of foreign people coming into america, in and out. There are still so many issues right now of people who have been traveling. The list of do not travel if you are a us citizen keeps increasing every month like constantly. Okay, these, these past 100 days of whatever has made shit completely hell and horrendous at this moment, because there's a lot of US citizens who travel out the country and come back and are immediately arrested and even though their paperwork is fine, there has been literally a couple who wound up driving up to Canada, crossed the border, forgot something, came back, was immediately detained I'm talking about within five minutes of crossing the border. The fact that she was even able to come safely and be able to get back home safely is amazing. I'm happy that that even happened. It's terrible that I have to say that I'm happy that that even happened. That's the worst part about it At this point. What is really happening right now?
Speaker 4:So her making a surprise appearance is really hits two main things into it. One oh wow, okay, that's interesting that she showed up in coachella, okay. But then the other one is the fact that she was able to show up. I'm surprised that happened. She's well known in the case. She's well known amongst gamers. It's well known in the anime industry because she's released, she's made multiple songs for a lot of different anime as well too. So it's like in america's obviously cracking down hard on that. Huh, anyway, nonsense. Anyway, shout out to Wendy's, because they have specifically said they will not apologize to Katy Perry and people are happy as hell about it.
Speaker 4:Wait hold on. I didn't hear that part about Wendy's?
Speaker 1:What did they do? What did they say?
Speaker 4:So Katy comes back, she posts about her going online and stuff when you said kiss the ground and oh, before that one. The first one they sent is it's like katie perry made it back from the rocket ship. They immediately tweeted um right underneath it and said can we send her back?
Speaker 1:yeah, I thought that one okay, it was like yep.
Speaker 4:And then, yeah, when she kissed the ground, I was like I kissed the earth and I liked it. But it was just straight up like look, you're talking about all this money. You got enough money to pay because they put so much money into this. They personally paid for it, specifically just to brag on the fact that they got the chance to fly out in space. Congratulations. That money could have went to somewhere significantly better, clearly. Could have gone to somewhere significantly better, clearly could have gone to somewhere significantly better.
Speaker 4:But no, who you telling? Tell it louder, speak it louder, don't whisper it. For the teachers in the educational system, yes, I'm tired of our teachers being laid off. I'm tired of teachers having terrible health care. We preach all the time that our children are the future of our generation and we are not Equipping them with the skills to be the future Of our generation, to be the future of our world, whatsoever. We are not equipping them.
Speaker 1:Instead, we are constantly hindering them all the time. Outdated computers, outdated everything. We even have outdated Gym equipment where, like we have to like inflate Volleyball just to use them as basketball. We can't even afford real basketball it's just, it's insane.
Speaker 4:It's insane and it is. You know what you're saying is joking, but it's the truth too, and it's it's terrible. So it's like look straight up, you wasting money, bro, you wasting money, you can cry and cook, you guys too as it's true.
Speaker 4:It's true, wendy's is known for roasting um on the obscene scale, bro, absolutely. I remember there's a dude I thought I can't remember his name. He's a comedian and he'd be making them on ones where he does like the taco bell versus wendy, versus everyone's faces, and he puts like the eyeballs in the mouth on top of it and be roasting all types of jokes about it. But, straight up, wendy's is known for going online roasting people. They don't care. I don't know who it is. We still don't know who it is.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry, but first of all, yes, whoever's running the Twitter account for Wendy's, I commend you, I applaud you.
Speaker 4:You make it worth it.
Speaker 1:You remember back in the day I think it was 2016 or some sort. For some reason, 2016 was just popping when it comes to music, when Wendy's put out that fucking album we beefing up.
Speaker 4:For real Matter of fact, the thing about it is we still don't know who it is, but we do know it wound up being. We did get some information. We know it's the person that there was that one wendy's that had put up the sign that was like oh, we better than that mcdonald's across the street. Oh, like we better than that taco bell, and was putting up signs like oh, and was saying all the random things like oh, hey, our ice cream machine does work, type thing. It was that person that got promoted to being on their twitter account. That the one. We still don't know that they're doing really good at keeping that hidden of who it is the people who work with that person knows it's them, but yeah, so applaud you because bring the petty, bring the petty, we need it. It's hilarious you calling all the right people. Yes, james Citron stepping down. I mean hey for Discord.
Speaker 4:Considering the fact that we use Discord as well. If you don't follow us, don't say please come in. We do have a Discord in our entertainment. We are actually doing some updates onto it, done primarily by our main man, talos. He is our main person there, so definitely we're doing like a lot of different watch videos, jb, if I'm correct, I think you, like you, be streaming some of the shows on there as well too. So don't worry about the whole pirate thing. Intel, don't worry about that. We got you. We will legally stream some stuff for y'all to watch. I guess Nonsense, cool shit. Anyway. Now, as far as the statues, look people, let people enjoy what they're going to do. Okay, choose. Look people, let people enjoy what they're gonna do. Okay, just as much as you want to pick on them. But, like I can't believe you paid 2200 for a hyper realistic statue. All I'm gonna say is, if you're gonna sit here and complain about it, you better not be out there running. No only fans don't you dare because the money is out there.
Speaker 4:People love sex. Sex. That's just what sex sells, man.
Speaker 1:Also, as a dude who 3D prints, the fact that it takes hours to make sure that you got the right paints, like the different techniques, like, for instance, like I'm not trying to take up too much time but like, for instance, just real quick. Like, for instance, when you're like painting white onto things. It's not just as simple as getting like the color white and just paint it out. No, no, no, no. You gotta like get white and gray and try to get it like that pearly porcelain white, because, trust me, solid white is not gonna look good. So these people are putting in a lot of money I I mean not a lot of money a lot of time into making each and one of these figurines. So that's why I'm honestly can't even hold sideshow collectibles by making all those different figurines that they make. And then you look at the price. I'm like eight hundred.
Speaker 1:Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. But then again, think about it. Think about it from the artist's point of view.
Speaker 4:You sunk a lot of hours just to make that one figurine and understand that price point ain't for everybody, but it's for the right person yeah, like some.
Speaker 1:Okay, somebody gonna pay for it.
Speaker 4:Somebody gonna pay for it exactly and they want it. If you want people to pay for quality, that's just what it is like as a sculptor. Straight up, I make sculpting out of clay and foam and stuff like that and aluminum foil. I've done a lot of different things. I've done cosplays out of crafted cosplays and stuff. So literally straight up, I absolutely understand and that price point you pay for your worth.
Speaker 1:You put your price point where you want it. By the way, we for your worth. By the way, by the way, we're going to get an Etsy store built up where I'm going to sell my uh miniatures on and everything on there. Uh, we're going to also import that, some of that stuff, into our main website at zone alliancecom. Also, check out our Patreon. Like now, you can subscribe to our Allied tier for just $1, and I mean it's just $1. You're not going to miss that dollar.
Speaker 1:And yeah like you know, you get early access to some of our works and if you subscribe to Higher tiers, you get more goodies, like maybe get discount on our website or maybe some loyalty rewards. So, yeah, show your support. We're trying to get more equipment like mics, uh, new pcs, so we can start up our own gaming studio and whatnot making, getting into animation and whatnot, making our own stories. We're trying to build that up, but, uh, we just need that little bit of funding just to get new computers and whatnot, and then we'll be straight.
Speaker 4:Yeah. So let me go ahead and just finish mine off real quick, cause, like I said, we had the end and I'll tell us guys what stuff to. Um, I fully support Japanese lawmakers making studio GBR. Uh, illegal AI art. Like, do it for real. It's one of those ones. You know, I am the artist against ai. So here's the thing I do understand there are points that you can use ai to kind of help better your stuff, but there are still people out here who put some stuff in and they're taking credit saying, yeah, I make really good art, like I do some really good.
Speaker 4:No, you just type some words and the computer does it for you in somebody else's stolen style. That is not what you made, don't you lie about that? And you sitting here stealing money from actual artists that's really what it is. Like you, there's no reason. There should be no reason that you make money out of this. There should be no reason you'd be making money off of stolen stuff. That is not no like at all.
Speaker 4:So you want to talk about the pirating thing? I agree and listen to that regards. Okay, like, look, just I don't know somewhat, but for reals, though, is is the thing about. It is. This is that you pay for good art, you pay for good quality and stuff like that. It's just one of those things of just like, come on. So other thing into.
Speaker 4:As far as about, like I said, you know I got something to say, so I'm gonna keep it real quick into. As far far as the thing with terrence howard um, look, a lot of people it usually takes, when the person is finally getting convicted, where someone is able to be put away into, where you feel like you can finally be in a safe zone, because a lot of times all it takes is speaking out one thing most people don't realize that mc hammer was a dangerous person. You can say the wrong thing about mc hammer, mess with him about his pants and I mean literally Mess with him about his pants, and I mean literally Mess with him about his pants and all of a sudden Knock on your door A phone call Go missing.
Speaker 4:It happens. People talk about this for real. They think this is a joke. Puff was that he was that dude. He was a scary dude. He could handle bit. He would not have been the strongest, he could still handle business on his own in his ways, but he also. He had people to handle stuff for him. And some of these people just like him like that. It's not one of those ones like, oh, they're scared of him. No, they just like him like that because they get down just as dirty as he did. That's just what it is. You need to be careful about what you say. So I understand why it is he waited and talk about stuff.
Speaker 4:Otherwise, I did get a chance to watch some snippets into it. He didn't say nothing we already didn't know. So I don't know. There was nothing new for me. So I was like OK, but no last thing into as far as US, like band and anime, club funding and stuff. Look for reals though.
Speaker 4:Okay, there's some people, some people like myself. I'm not a big sports person. I will watch sports. I did marching band, so you know I've seen a lot of football. I've been in basketball games. Okay, I rooted for teams and stuff. I don't have a favorite team per se into things I'm not, so the thing about is this, though the same way you would fund for sports, anime club is about the same same way you would fund for the chess team anime club would still be about the same. The thing about it is is that I wound up being treasurer because I had to handle out the resources, understanding of funds and why it is that it was important to be able to do that, and why it is that we needed funds to do things like to go to conventions, why it is that we would be able to do fundraisers, to be able to go do these things, to be able to help pay for our costumes and stuff. Understanding that these contests it was important for social interactions. It's important for a lot of different things. I had to write up an entire document to get it approved through a teacher and we had to submit it to our principal just for us to get approved, for anime club to be considered an actual club and be able to get funding to be able to do certain stuff. Okay, anime club people.
Speaker 4:One thing to understanding is that larpers usually counts also within those social groups as well, too, for anime lovers and for video game lovers, because the thing about it is we want a clean park to be able to fund it, to be able to larp at and have fun with. I really wish, um we had messy on here right now, because she would definitely be talking about it as well too, because I know a lot of larpers that specifically volunteer to clean the parks because they want to have a nice clean space to be able to do that. And you understand that not everybody's going to do it, that we pay taxes and it does not. They do not take care of our stuff, our cities and stuff like this, like our taxes are supposed to. That does not happen. We know that. But the thing about it is that we still have it as a community to be able to do so. Anime club can be a community thing as well too, but you need the fundings to be able to do that. You need to be able to pay these, you need to be able these kids to eat some lunches while they're out there, to get some water, and that when it's hot outside, to make sure they have jackets, to make sure they have, like the um, the safety jackets as well, reflective gear when they're picking up trash and everything, so cars don't hit them. That have almost been hit by a car too many times doing volunteer work. But the thing about it is this is that, yes, it takes a little bit of funding to be able to do these things. Okay, because some of these things are important. It helps build social interaction, helps build different things.
Speaker 4:I know the biggest thing about it is that we got in trouble because they were like oh, the only thing that you do is just sit down and watch anime. No, we was doing the same thing that I'm doing on this podcast right now. We will be watching the shows, we will talk about it, we will talk about how it would be important, how it impacted things, maybe talk about different writings and stuff as well too. I have three people that were in our anime club very specifically, who increased their English scores because we helped improve their writing and their understanding of stuff, because while they were in class they were having trouble understanding books, they were having trouble understanding poetry and things like that. But we popped haikus out there. Pop some anime haikus from different anime.
Speaker 4:We wound up popping up some manga and got a chance to decipher things that was said and stuff is one of the reasons why I absolutely love the bleach series, because in that manga there's sometimes where a lot of stuff is conveyed through just the pictures. So we had an understanding of analyzing the animation, the pictures and things as well too. We were able to sit down and do that. We not just get paid to sit around watching tv all day. It matters, and what it is that you do with it as well too, and that's why you have a good teacher who loves watching anime, who enjoys those series and does things like how we do now do reviews and things like that, and they teach these kids how to be able to do it, because it does actually make a difference. And I'm getting off my soapbox. That's all I got to say yeah, I swear those.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, breaking news, kind of sort of honestly, I'll have to even, I gotta say, tell us when you're right, you're right. Uh, I'm just now watching this one post where, when I was just talking about hbo match removing shit like tom and jerry and whatnot, I'm now looking at a post saying that to be specifically was on twitter, saying like oh, don't worry, fam, I got y'all. Tom and Jerry is on Tubi. So yes, if you want to watch those classic animated shows, go ahead and get Tubi.
Speaker 4:Tubi, I'm going to need y'all to start paying us a little bit. You know, like $5 a pop. We mentioned that name. I'm just saying.
Speaker 1:I mean, they're kind of coming in clutch at this point. But uh, you said, is that all you had on um miscellaneous news in general, kokuyasu?
Speaker 4:oh yeah, no, I'm done all right, bad, bad, bad.
Speaker 1:Tell those, what do you got?
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm not really going to cover anything here right now, the reason being is because I have something I want to add. Like I said, I said it before, I already said it. Hey, dre, I got something to say. So, and this is for you, big head, this is for you big head ass fans out here, or those of you that call yourselves fans out here right, kubo, the creator of Bleach Apparently he made a post we don't know if it's fully true or not, however, but this is what we're going by Translated says the thing is, if you have the talent to draw a story that's more interesting in bleach, then please become mangaka soon.
Speaker 3:If it's good, then it'll definitely be more popular than bleach. If you say that you can't draw, then do your best and become an editor so you can give advice to mangaka. If you really have the ability, then you'll have good reception anywhere you go. And here's the part that I want to definitely get to. And it says because, if you don't have the talent nor have the effort yet you want to tell me that, pathetic, and I, and as I, as I, let me read this off again, excuse, excuse me, I'm sorry, excuse me, Let me see it again. I want to get this right.
Speaker 3:There we go, it says you said Because you don't have the talent Nor the effort. Yet you want to tell me that Pathetic little complaint. You're just some guy who's trying to hinder a person who's actually working hard, so close your eyes and hide your I almost said hide your confidence. Open, no, no, no, it says work hard, so close your comment. Open, uh, no, no, no, it says working hard. So close your eyes. And because I guess it's kind of mistranslated here, because after that he says open your mouth, because your type of person opens your mouth to eat rain and dust and maybe you'll actually live somehow. Um, that being said, and I want this to be understood as to what was being uh, quote, unquote said, and I want this to be understood as to what was being uh, quote, unquote said here, because fans, y'all get on my nerves, so so much. Uh, hey, if you ain't got the talent but you want to make complaints, shut the hell up. Shut up, I mean that. Shut up, like nobody don't care about your opinion. It's your opinion, we don't care.
Speaker 1:Like honestly, I would just want to say it's really the people who want to complain about something sucking, but they can't even give a solid explanation to why they think it was bad or good. Like I mean, I mean great, like I'm glad that you enjoyed it, but it's just kind of weird that you can't even describe how you like it or how you hate it.
Speaker 1:Like it's almost like you're not really like all you can tell me is that you either like it or you don't like it, and that's fair, but you can't even explain it. That's weird to me. You can't even explain it. That's weird to me.
Speaker 3:My thing is, it's just simply put. This is showing me that fans are just Well, not even fans. Stans and hypocrites Are out here just trying to do the most Like we're not here to cater to you. Fans, actual fans yeah, we're here to cater to them, not to them. Hypocrites, not to them hypocrites, not to them. Black people and legit. That's all I got. I was gonna talk more about it, but nope, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut because that right there literally made me want to go all the way off.
Speaker 1:That was all you had on miscellaneous yes, that's all right all right. Well, you know what that is it. That is all we got, and I already mentioned how we're trying to build up the website, the patreon discord and all that. So I guess the only thing I can say is thank you for listening to the end, dear listener, listener, and thank you to the panel for being on for this installment of the Nerdy News, and to the listener I swear we're going to be better at releasing these episodes in a more consistent timely manner.
Speaker 1:But by now? Well, maybe not by now, but let's just say I decided to go ahead and release the bleach extreme review for may. So during this month you're gonna see the complete extreme review, except for a thousand year blood war. Um, we're gonna wait until part four is completely done hopefully part four is the last part and then after that we just go ahead and talk about a thousand year blood war and be done with bleach. So until the next episode, you know, take it easy, stay nerdy. Remember the great things are coming. We're gonna go ahead and zoom in on it. So have yourself a good morning, good afternoon, good and good night. But ultimately, you take it easy and stay tuned for more nerdy news and reviews.
