Hi and welcome to the zone podcast. My name is just Jesus Christ. Welcome to the zone podcast. It's your favorite host, mira Jane, aka your face build otaku. Before we truly get up into it and get started, I want to introduce a guest co-host that I have today. He is a wrestling fanatic, one of the how can I put this? I think in terms of wrestling knowledge and wrestling terminology, um, definitely a go-to, and he's also on Twitch YouTube, so just welcome him to the zone podcast. Let's bring him On the stage. Hi, space Cowboy.
Speaker 2:Hello.
Speaker 1:Welcome to the zone. How are you feeling?
Speaker 2:I'm good, it's good to be in the zone. How are you?
Speaker 1:Good good, good good. You know out here always doing some theories, but before we get started, you know what we're here to talk about, right?
Speaker 2:It's called Blue Lock.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, all blue lock um how you feel about blue lock, that it's an amazing sports anime for one.
Speaker 2:Honestly, it really is. Honestly, it really is. Honestly. It just makes me realize I love sports and down to earth animes. Now the thing about me is I'm considered what's called a casual anime watcher. I don't just consume everything. Um, some things, a lot of things have to make sense, and with Blue Lock I never watched soccer, but getting done watching Blue Lock, it makes me want to watch soccer. There's probably a lot to it, but I'm pretty sure we're going to be getting down to brass tacks on that soon enough.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. We're definitely going to get all up into it. But, um, let's go ahead and kick things off. I'm gonna basically kind of summarize everything, kind of give our fans out there kind of a summary of what's going on. If they haven't been watching blue lock, if you guys haven't been watching blue lock, what have you been doing? Um, because I'm not gonna lie, it has me in a chokehold. Uh, if Space Cowboy is aware of, my favorite character right now is Bajira, but we're going to talk about him because he's my favorite monster. So Season 2 of Blue Lock kicks off with they're basically still in their training facility and it's time to pick who's going to be Team Blue Lock. And it's time to pick who's going to be team blue lock. Now, what ends up happening is, uh, ren isa isagi, and because I'm probably going to pronounce a couple of these guys names wrong to be, honest with you, shido and shido's crazy, by the way, but we're definitely going to talk about him.
Speaker 1:So all the guys in blue lock are basically getting ready to be on team blue lock now. What transpires in the first half of season two is a match to determine that we get to see this match, and it's the one of the most intense match between blue lock we've seen yet so far. In the beginning season two. I'm king. King almost loses his mind like he is absolutely going crazy during this match because it seems like he's not playing with anyone. He's literally just intensively playing on his own. At this point he has zero self-control. It seems like, um, but not as much as lack of self-control as Shido. Shido actually ends up getting kicked out of Blue Lock in the first half of the season because he's extremely erratic, he lacks discipline and he pushes this program extremely to its limits. Now you know, someone's gotta be having a horrible ego, like their ego can't even be matched if they're pissing off. Um, what's the guy's name? The the Jimpachi, is it Jimpachi?
Speaker 1:yeah, jimpachi yeah, if you're pissing off Jimpachi, you know for a fact that your behavior's out of this freaking world and out of this freaking window. But so that's basically kind of what ends up happening in the first half of season two. We do get to see Chigiri do his running quick attack I just talked about Baro, his ego is crazy, off the charts, um and we also get to see isagi make ren submit, which I thought was interesting, interesting terminology to be used, but um it. But it was a cool first Half of season 2. Those were some of the early highlights and kind of just a summary. So what did you think Of Shido's expulsion From Lulac?
Speaker 2:I was trying to remember. Shido is a psycho. He's a Hisoka character, right? Yeah, he's a Hisoka character, right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, he's definitely Hisoka you know like we get to see him.
Speaker 2:It was needed.
Speaker 1:It was needed what?
Speaker 2:Look, I don't think he was going to get along with Bullock anyway. He barely got along with the U20. Like, in a way, he's kind of like King. He really fends for himself.
Speaker 1:I mean, yeah, I agree with you, but you know what's a match without a little bit of crazy?
Speaker 2:No, I mean, there is no match without crazy, as we saw in the whole arc. But Shido was not going to be a team player and, despite how King was fending for himself on the Blue Lock team, he wasn't. Jinpachi set him up as like yeah, dude, I know you're gonna mess up, I know you're gonna mess up, you're here, but because I need, like a giant ego monster, to run through, just in case we need, just in case we fall behind and they're falling behind massively, so having two of those on the blue lot team, so you're, you're basically saying that like it totally would have just kind of been unbalanced it wouldn't have been pretty.
Speaker 2:It was bad enough when king got on the field with isaki, because jim pachi knew that Isugi was the only one that could really mess up King's head. Because, like because Isugi totally remember, he sunned him in season one when Isugi found his confidence and he found his power, yeah, you know. So it's like why have two of those and Shido probably not used to being on that kind of style of team that's, that's, that's true.
Speaker 1:That's definitely. That's very true. Um um, king did get signed by Isagi in season one. Yo, that moment, that moment when, when isegi bossed up on freaking on king, on bado, I was like yo, yo, isegi is crazy right now, like I can't, I could not even. I could not fathom that that was actually happening, because Bardo just comes across. He came across when you first got introduced in season one, and I know we're kind of like backtracking. I know we're talking about season two, but this moment was like so epic and I didn't think Isagi had it in him, though Like that was. That part of season one is where I was questioning if Isagi was actually going to be able to go the distance.
Speaker 2:I would say I knew he was not just because of protagonist anime plot armor, but really he has a mind for it. It's just that he gets in his head too much. You know, a genius of anything gets in their head too much to the point where they have to stop listening and start acting. And that's what Izuki finally did. He saw how everyone had speed, had power, had probably had agility and probably didn't have anything. Basha, not his equal per se, but Basha found his monster. Basha used craziness, rin just used his confidence that he, you know, kind of learned from his big brother. So Isuki, I'm pretty sure, let the anxiety eat him up and think he wasn't good enough, until he found a way to put Puzzle Piece together speaking of big brother, um, we get a little bit of peak.
Speaker 1:we get a tiny peak right, um, into ren's big brother's life, right, like we get more of it definitely in the second half during the U20 match.
Speaker 1:But we get kind of a tiny peek into the reason why Ren is so intense about playing football and I, honestly, I was a little bit shocked and a little bit kind of turned off by it At first, by the reason he wanted to play, but To speak on, like Rin's leadership Capabilities that really showcased itself, um, during the first half of season 2, that's where I was like, okay, yeah, I see, I see why he needs to play first of all.
Speaker 1:Second of all, I see why he's actually meant to be the leader, because I was also kind of questioning that as well, like with Rin being the focus of the team when him, and because the person that ends up getting the reason Shido ends up getting expelled is also because he gets into a fight with Rin, right, like they're two sides of the same coin in a weird way. The same coin in a weird way, but, um, I I didn't understand at first why they were two sides of the same coin until that moment where shido, like, basically, does he like hit him? I couldn't, I couldn't really remember if he hits him or if they just like get into, like a an argument um.
Speaker 1:I think that I think he hits him. I think, like he ends up, you're talking about?
Speaker 2:you're talking about Shido and Rin's older brother, or no? No, you're talking about Shido and Rin. Oh, okay, when they were practicing yeah um, I think shido got too crazy. I think he hit him. Let's just for sake of it to say he hit him yeah, yeah, yeah, I think he did end up hitting him.
Speaker 1:And the way, uh, the way ren handled that, the way he, he, he bit that at first and was like I'm not fixing to ruin this game, that solidified him as a leader. I was like, yeah, he a leader. He a leader material.
Speaker 2:He's a captain. He's a captain, he's got a co-captain.
Speaker 1:Facts, facts, so Facts, facts. So what do you? Do you have anything else you kind of want to add about season the first half of season two?
Speaker 2:Um, nothing that I can really chew on, like just no, no major insight. I am because, honestly, season two was just so game heavy and and yeah it was so game heavy it was just focused, like on the game.
Speaker 1:You did get the backstory in there, but I will say it felt like well-oiled machine, even if they didn't win automatically. That's true, that's true, that's true, that's true, that's true. So I guess it's fair to say that we can go ahead and move on and kind of talk about the second half of the season, which is the best half of the season. Now I'm going to consider this a tournament arc. That's what I'm going to consider it. It is like the tournament arc of, say, similar to like yuyu hakusho right or dragon ball z or you know, all of our favorite animes that end up having a tournament, like hunter, hunter um right, because, because it was just that good, it was just that intense and just like inspiring, I guess, in a way exactly.
Speaker 2:I guess in a way it's different because when you look at those, those tournament arts from these shows, depending on the type of anime watch you are, this could feel like a breath of fresh air. Because even in some fighting tournaments you can't do what they do like what. If you can't shoot ki blasts out of your hand, you can't use a spirit gun or a spirit sword, and I'm not sure what hunter hunter tournament arc was, I forgot it was, but in a way you can't do that. I'm not sure what Hunter x Hunter tournament arc was, I forgot it was, but in a way you can't do that. But if you try hard enough, you're passionate about it enough, you can play soccer and, like in Haiku, you can play volleyball In Kokona Basket or Slam Dunk, you can play basketball.
Speaker 2:Okay, you know, this is kind of me about grounded anime is the thing is I treat it like I treat my professional wrestling. While the story may not be a lot there for me, unless it's something really compelling, the, the match types or the matches that happen, the sport of it is what catches my attention. You know, because the atoshi brothers, ren and sai, are saying just why. I like just seeing how reality just shook ren when I found out my brother doesn't want to be the best striker anymore. It's like no, no, I went into it with actual strikers and boy, I got schooled. But there are other things. There was like some weird not a culture shock, but it was just this reality check that now I got to do this in spite of you. And then Si's like bro, why don't you just grow up and do your own thing? You're not gonna be a best striker. And I'm like, well, that's nice, big brother.
Speaker 1:Yeah. It may not have a lot, but there's some meat on that bone yeah, the second half of Blue Lock season 2 was definitely a lot to chew on. It was. It was truly compelling in the sense of like it changes the idea of what number one could mean.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 1:Right, what does a number one player actually look like? What does ego look like? And it really challenges the idea or the definition behind the word ego. And if ego is a bad thing, because a lot of times we think of like ego being something that's like oh, they're egotistical, oh, they're narcissistic, oh, all it is like no, when you're playing it's like, yeah, you think you think I don't know, you think Kobe, lebron, steph, you think they care about if ego makes them look bad.
Speaker 2:I'm like, no, that's why some of the greatest basketball players of all time don't, don't give a, don't give a shit about that. You know, I guess when, I guess in the world of when you're not doing anything competitive and you still think you have an ego or something like that, it can look that way because, like, what do you bring to? Like, what do you bring to the table? Like man, I wish someone gave me this kind of explanation, because seeing these guys who just want to be the best striker and best soccer player is inspiring. I always get it. Anime is very inspiring.
Speaker 1:Yes, it is truly inspiring.
Speaker 2:Let's just look at Bakugou from my Hero Academia. Even though he does not have the qualities of a number one hero, he still wants to be number one, you may have told Deku a thousand times he's going to kill him, but he wasn't going to do shit.
Speaker 1:First of all, not in that way. You know what? I'm glad you brought up bakugou. I'm glad because there's a lot of bakugou hate that be happening, okay, um, if you ain't know, I love bakugou, my favorite. Okay, ain't nobody better than bakugou to me and my hero? But but that's neither here nor there. Okay, we're here to talk about blue up.
Speaker 2:well, to get back on that subject. It's just ego, but that's neither here nor there. Okay, we're here to talk about Blue Love.
Speaker 1:Well, to get back on that subject. It's just ego, it's not? Yeah, it's ego, but okay. So I'm just going to kind of summarize the events of what happened in season two, just kind of give everybody a good the second half of season two. Kind of give everybody a good the second half of season two. Kind of give everybody a good little bit of a reminder. Um, so let's dive into u20 versus team blue lock. Um, so at this point the stakes are super intense and the stakes in this is like if blue lock loses, it gets disbanded like this is it everything's over for blue lock and u20 is team japan, national team, right? So of course? Well, yeah, they're a national team. So some of them kind of taking it kind of lazy, they're kind of taking a back seat, they're not taking blue like that serious, they like we don't play it against the world, okay like who are?
Speaker 1:y'all whatever. But now, mind you, when all the players first got into blue lock, they were told that if they don't make it here, they could never be allowed to play football again. And this is it, like it's over for them. So. So they are desperate. They have this attitude and this drive and this passion. So when this match kicks off, it kicks off explosively.
Speaker 1:Now we haven't talked about a couple of players, but the first goal is scored by Blue Lock, and that's saying something, because they just scored against the national team. The crowd has zero idea how to handle this. They don't know whether they should scream or whether to cry because their national team is already getting whooped up on. And as the game goes on, we start to learn about ren and size relationship and we get to see the growth of players and we also even get to see the growth of u20 players. They start it amping it up, they start checking themselves and we also get a surprise person on the field from somebody who was expelled from, you know, blue Lock. How in the world does Shido get to join the U20 team just out of nowhere?
Speaker 1:And BTW, the scene when Rin not Rin when Psy goes to go see him and he is locked up as if he's in a crazy institution with a straight jacket. Nobody talked about that, nobody. Nobody talked about the fact that this man was just living. Who put him there? Who is that his home? Because we ain't never seen his parents either. I just want to know. I'm curious. Could somebody please explain to me where his house is at? Or does he just live in the mental institution, but he also gets introduced back into this game and back into football. Now he's on the national team already. Now, mind you, I'm pretty sure he hasn't even graduated high school yet. So that's crazy. And not only that, we get the final moment of Blue Lock and we get that final goal. And we get to see our main boy, our main character Isugi, score that winning goal.
Speaker 2:And we get to see our main boy, our main character Isagi, score that winning goal redemption from season one because, like he stopped yeah, because he stopped um getting inside his head so much, that's the one thing a lot of things come full circle. Getting inside his head so much, that's the one thing A lot of things come full circle. He stopped getting inside his head and he believed in himself. It was always there. It's just like I said, when a genius tends to think too much to the point of overthinking themselves in a corner, it's like they will not use their body when they need to. So, isagi, that's true.
Speaker 2:Like he saw how confident Rin was, and even Rin had to bring out his monster and his monster was completely psychotic. But Rin had to bring out his monster and his monster was completely psychotic.
Speaker 1:But Ooh, we do see Rin. Rin does lose his freaking mind during this match, doesn't he?
Speaker 2:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so that part is where Rin I'm trying to remember all the key moments in this match because there were so many highlights that I want to talk about um, but that particular part Ren is at his, he's at his, he's at his wit's end. At this point, he, he's fed up with playing the way he's been playing. He, him and his brother have had this rivalry and it's it's weird because it doesn't it's not like your typical anime brother rivalry. Okay, we've seen a lot of brother rivalries. Um, the most iconic one that I can definitely think of and you tell me as well, but the is definitely sasuke and itachi, right? This is not.
Speaker 2:That's not what this relationship is yeah, I know, because even when I think, even when um Rand got to where he was, sy still didn't give him any credit. At least not now. I don't know if they're just gonna be. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be another season, but I don't know. Maybe it depends on what they'll look like in that season yeah um literally name. It's almost like name another legendary iconic brother duo in the anime world that's a good point.
Speaker 1:Right now, I can't think of any um, but the one that was the first one that came to mind.
Speaker 2:Yeah, always sasuke, sasuke and itachi that's true.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry, I'm cold, um, I needed a blanket, but it is always sasuke and um itachi and there isn't another one. Now that I think about it, I can't think of one like I'm pretty sure that there's brother moments.
Speaker 2:There's always brother moments in anime. Facts, cause that's what people would kind of get it confused with that brother moments like in Tokyo Revengers with Mikey's brother. Mikey's brother was always stuffed with legend, but according to Mikey, you know his always stuffed with legend, but according to Mikey, his brother couldn't fight worth anything, only to find out. Only to find out. Well, spoilers for the manga, because it hadn't happened yet in anime. This man was on something the longest time. It's just that he got put in a. He went back in time, I think yeah yeah, his brother ends up going back in time.
Speaker 2:I told you, the one thing I need to see was when he punched that pole and I'm like I look like someone that's a punk and the fact that he led so many different gangs. But that could have been it. But yeah, even if Dragon Ball Z has not been an iconic brother duo dang, and they are siblings in that one, like actual siblings, like I mean.
Speaker 1:I'm not saying that Ren and that Ren and Psy aren't actual siblings. They are. I'm just saying that, um, ren and uh, that ren and sy aren't actual siblings they are.
Speaker 2:I'm just saying that, like, wow, they have legit families, um, that we get to see, and you're not wrong, I ain't thinking about it like that yeah I did not think about it like that I'm pretty sure there's probably one somewhere in a new mainstream anime or something, but in the stuff of Legend nah there probably is.
Speaker 1:I guess that means I just have to watch more anime. But so I just want to watch more anime. But so I just want to talk about a couple of my favorite moments and kind of highlight those. There is this moment when Shido enters the field and the conversation that they have. Can we just the wording that was used between um? Yeah inside, yeah, yeah, uh more, more, more more.
Speaker 2:That's so true.
Speaker 1:I have I've never heard someone talk More for she does end, more for she does end. That's so true. I have never heard someone talk like that.
Speaker 2:Like Huh.
Speaker 1:That man was on something else. That man was on demon time, legit Demon time. So there was there's been a couple of complaints Because in the, in the manga, shido is when he's sitting on the bench, like when Sai comes up to him and tells him Like hey, yo, you're gonna be playing a match. In the manga that's where he has like the demon wings that we end up seeing in the anime later. But the moment that they use those is when Shido is. I don't know the name of this kind of kick that he does, but those wings he looked straight demonic. I had never who. This. This move was insane, highlighted in the. In the freaking anime, like the slow-mo edit, they did to stop motion for us to see this kick and for his wings and for him to basically be kicking over Chigiri's head. Second of all, he basically almost outran Chigiri. That part was wild, that part was crazy to me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the guy with the glasses right? No, no, shido, shido, but there was someone on the opposing team. You 20, though, can like either catch up or outrun chiquitie I know you're talking about the guy with the glasses.
Speaker 1:Yes, that's their guy with the glasses but yeah, cars who was point on him?
Speaker 1:Karasu ended up taking point On him To leave Chigatari free. And as soon as Shido entered the match that's when Thigh they basically took off running upfield, right. And Shido does that crazy spin, kick, move and Shigure kind of like pinpoints where he's going. He's like, oh snap, I know, this is a devil, I know where he's going right. And Shigure takes that moment and he hits full speed and Shido still kicks over his head. Not only that, but he basically ends up causing Chikuri to get injured.
Speaker 2:Hmm, get injured.
Speaker 1:Like to take out a whole player and you just came in the game is crazy, like you ain't even need no warm-up, like that scene was crazy. That was one of my favorite scenes that ended up happening during this half of the season Because it just I don't like Shido. I'm not saying that I do. Well, maybe a part of me kind of likes Shido. I mean me and his hair are kind of the same color, so you know. But but I mean me and his hair are kind of the same color, so you know. But but yeah, like I don't like Shido, but at the same time that part was so fire. And them pink wings oh my God they were. So that animation was so fire. I will say something about this, about Bluelock's animation. And them pink wings oh my god, that animation was so fire. I will say something about the bow of Blue Locks animation. To me it's the greatest animation I've seen in a long time. They do take short cuts here and there, but it's so cool.
Speaker 2:That's better than JJK. Let's say that much. That's better than JJK. Let's say that much that that's a controversial statement and the don, the don, or how do you say it?
Speaker 1:it's the don the don you right. I agree with you, though usually. I'm just shocked, because usually it's me who be having the, usually it's me I be saying that kind of stuff but, I'm glad you said it.
Speaker 2:And it sounds like it's. It's what it is Like. It wasn't really, but honestly, there's just a lot more clean, it's more, it's a lot more extra.
Speaker 1:It's definitely extra. It's definitely extra. I could definitely do that extra I could definitely do that. So the other thing that ends up happening and I kind of want you to tell me, like first of all, what was your favorite moment during the match?
Speaker 2:I know it's at the latter end, but I'm sorry it's when Rin goes crazy really that tongue out monster, that making all that noise he looks like a zombie that was a point. I did not expect that from Rin at all. I love seeing the unexpected. I love seeing the unexpected. I love seeing the unexpected and it was really just something and then he, just he snapped.
Speaker 1:I thought he was going to be the main one, but the man just snapped and really, like I said, I loved it yeah, he looks so creepy though, like they blacked out his eyes, his tongue's all hanging out like I get it though, because that part was that that was really interesting. The animation on that was really interesting. The animation on that was really interesting. So I have a question about their relationship. Do you think that the relationship that Psy and Rin have, do you think it actually pushes Rin to be a better player or is it actually hindering him player, or is it actually hindering him because ren was already.
Speaker 2:Ren was already a phenomenal player before that, because rin was already. Rin was already a phenomenal player before that. Well, but when you, when you see it, he was already a natural. But it could be, it could be something that does push him to be even better that does push him to be even better.
Speaker 1:Oh, you make a. Actually, you just said something. You just said something that triggered something in me. Okay, so I have a theory. Okay, so, theory, I have a theory I have. My theory is this you know that moment when, um, because there's a flashback moment and we get to see Psy and Rin as little kids and Psy is already playing soccer because he's the older brother and then one day, rin's watching his brother play soccer and then, all of a sudden, he's like I just want to be like my brother.
Speaker 1:He's so cute and he runs onto the field and he kicks a ball right and he makes a goal. I don't know if you keep this part, but my theory is that Psy was low-key, actually jealous of Ridd at that moment.
Speaker 2:I didn't think about that one, so like okay.
Speaker 1:I'm going to flesh this out a little bit. I didn't think about that one, so like, okay, I'm gonna flesh this out a little bit because, essentially, what I think is you're right, you make a good point, good freaking point. You got me thinking. I love it. Rin is a natural. Rin is natural. Okay, everything about Rin is so natural. So I think Psy has always been working Harder than even Ren, because he saw Ren and he was like oh, he's a natural. Like, I think that is part Of Psy's capabilities and why he chose not to become the best striker, because he knew he could never be the best striker. Like when he started playing with other people, it definitely sunk in and I think that's why, when he came back, he was like man, forget you, okay. Like, you can still be the best striker, but me, I'm going to be this. And while I think that hurts Wynn's feelings, I think that I think Psy knew, and I don't know, but okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry. Thoughts I got so excited, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2:That could have been it. Um, yeah, honestly, that could have been it. Um, yeah, honestly, that could have been it yeah uh thinking about it. Yeah, maybe big brother was just a little brother that would be maybe at that time Psy wasn't as good as he thought he was and for the longest time he just realized he wasn't as good as he thought he was. And then he gets around other players and I'd say he knew his place, do you think do?
Speaker 1:you think when Psy got around other players and I think he knew his place Do you think when Psy got around other players, he started seeing all the elements that Rin had in himself? Naturally, he started seeing them play out in other players.
Speaker 2:I don't know.
Speaker 1:Maybe he did.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think, I think that's something that ended up happening. Um, okay, I think Were there any other moments that were kind of like that stuck out to you, that were your favorite? There's so many of them that I, low-key, kind of just want to do like a highlight reel really quickly and kind of like spit them out. So Baro ends up coming on back on coming into the field when Chiguri. I think it's when Chiguri gets hurt, I think that's when he comes on the field. We haveuri I think it's when chiguri gets hurt, I think that's when he comes on the field. We have two replacements that end up coming in, or three. Rayo rayo gets to play too.
Speaker 1:We haven't even talked about oh, rayo, I forgot, rails are purple hair right yeah, rayo, you know, you know his boy crush, you know who's his boy crush yeah, yeah, of course nagi um nagi, yeah, but yeah, and he's a chameleon, not nagi rayo, it's.
Speaker 2:You know. That's where it always makes you think, like when you're really put in a position to really challenge yourself. That's when you find out who you are in certain elements, and I think that's what. That is something in this anime. Does that's awesome? Like we don't know what these characters are? Does that's awesome? Like we don't know what these characters are, you know? And the way they're blended, the way their characteristics are blended in with their personalities. Like um Rao is a chameleon, nagi is a slacker, but he's still good. Isagi is a puzzle solver. Rin is just natural. There's a lot. Rin has a hidden power as well.
Speaker 1:Boshira has a monster when Baro came on the field and he was like and he scores a goal and he strips, bro, like he strips, he straight up, snatches his shirt off so fast. It's the fastest shirt removal I've ever seen in my life. Oh yeah, he gets yellow card for that.
Speaker 2:I think fast it's the fastest shirt removal I've ever seen in my life. Oh yeah, he gets yellow card for that, I think.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, yes, yes, he does get yellow card. There is actually a. This actually was a real scene that ends up happening in an actual football match. There was a soccer player who strips his shirt off and literally knee slides across the field because he scored a goal. I'm gonna have to show you this freaking clip because that clip was freaking awesome. Um, but I'll, I'll show you that off. I'll show you that off because, like, I'll have to send you the link because, like, that junk was so cool, oh my god. But uh, oh god, forgive me for all my shifting and moving, um, but yeah, like, uh, nagi, and we get to see nagi do his thing throughout the whole match, so I didn't really want to talk too much about that, because Nagi has some of the best ball control and he's super freaking calm, under pressure. Rayo mimicking the oh my god, the stop when he stopped the ball, the same move that Nagi does. That was cool, that was so cool that chameleon.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I wanted to have more to say on Rao, but he's kind of like and is what is character. But I'm glad he is a chameleon that can mimic a move yeah, me too.
Speaker 1:Me too, I was definitely really glad about that. Um, I'm trying to think of a couple more. I'm trying to remember because there's so many. So we talked about Baro, we talked about Rayo, we talked about Chigiri, we talked about Isagi. Honorable mention Aiku Aiku on the U20 team Is he the captain. I like Huh.
Speaker 2:He's the captain right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he's the team's captain, he evolves and this is where we get into something that I think we're going to have to probably cover on like a part of three Hopefully you'll be on for the party but we'll definitely talk about to um, have to probably cover on like a part of three hopefully you'll be on for party but, um, we'll definitely talk about a couple of things that we forgot to mention. But aiku is an honorable mention because he evolved during the game. He went through a thing that I think a lot of us commonly go through and this is kind of like a psychological thing, um, and I think that would require a little bit more time to do a breakdown. But and I know you have to go, I know you have a schedule to six two and I am so sorry and I appreciate you. Sorry, but uh, aiku ends up evolving during this match and he realizes that he would never, when he was told when he was younger to just, oh no, be a team player.
Speaker 1:No, don't chase after your dreams. No, it's fine, you're good enough to go pro, but you're not good enough to not share the ball. You're supposed to just be a defender. He realizes mid-match that he's like yo, all of that was bs, bro. Like I'm about to be an egoist now, like starting right now and again.
Speaker 2:That's just a beautiful thing about it. Like you can be an egoist, actually. No. Like you just hear people say, oh, you're never gonna be this and I'm like, well, I'm gonna be, and now I'm captain of this team.
Speaker 1:Like you can't sit here and now like that's not fuel it is and I, I think I kind of want to sum up everything, um, before we get ready to close out, um, and say, like that is the beauty of blue lock. It is, it has. It awakens in you the thing, I think, um, that a lot of people try to bury as they get older, right, like they try to bury that passion and bury, um, the things that they've given up on because they feel like, oh well, it's too late for me, but it's, it's actually never too late, and I think that's what blue lock really is all about second chances, sometimes third chances even, as we will see later if you've been reading the manga. But I'm not going to spoil anything no spoilers.
Speaker 1:But to wrap it up, I guess I'm going to say my favorite flavor. My favorite flavor is strawberry flavor. My favorite flavor is strawberry, but that's for a lot of reasons. I like strawberries and white chocolate. That's another favorite flavor. Favorite player is my favorite player is Bachira. I love Bachira. Bachira has a monster and I feel me and bachira are one in the same. I feel like I have maybe I shouldn't say that, maybe I shouldn't say I have a little monster, but I feel like we just relate, like I understand, when he's talking about everything that he talks about and every time he goes off. So tell me what's your favorite flavor? Player, player, not flavor. I am so sorry um favorite player.
Speaker 2:Favorite player Not for obvious, but like, yeah, I'm sorry, it's definitely Isagi. Really what?
Speaker 1:Okay, I'm not gonna lie. I thought it was gonna be Bardo. No, I judge.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry, I found Bargas when I was. He's a one trick pony. Oh, man, man, you called Bardo the king. Trust me, he's amazing at what he does, but he's a one trick pony. At least I think so what?
Speaker 2:okay, I'm not gonna lie, that's definitely controversial right there he is good at what he does, but that's just kind of it. It's like as far as like putting, like putting a gazelle in front of a lion. You know it's gonna happen and you can outsmart him. What do you think Isaki did? Isaki outsmarted the king by playing on his ego.
Speaker 1:You smart, you smart, you smart. I see you. I see you you be watching, I thought you be watching, okay, okay. Okay, you're not wrong, I just I've okay. So I've been reading a couple of Reddit threads. I need to stay out of those. Anyway, the point I'm making is that's controversial. Most people love Bado and I thought you were going to love Bado and I judged, and now I apologize, forgive me for being a judgmental and typecasting, because I definitely typecast, like you know.
Speaker 2:I figured Bado Um and typecasting, because I definitely typecast. Like you know personally, man, I figured me out of Um. Nagi's not my favorite. Nagi's a great player, but again he's just lazy. You know he's multifaceted, but he's just lazy.
Speaker 1:Nagi is like the lazy bro. Um, he's definitely the lazy bro. I love Nagi too, though I love Nagi is like the lazy bro. He's definitely the lazy bro. I love Nagi too, though I love Nagi, but he's definitely not my favorite. My favorite is definitely, I think, bajira plays with such freedom, which I have to show you the player who he's Basically Based off of, because he's based off of a real life player and he does all of the same like tricks, which is crazy. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you a hint. Guess, I'm gonna give you. I can't even give you a hint. Okay, his, his name was mentioned in a kendrick lamar song.
Speaker 2:Messi, no, Neymar actually.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, yes. Vajra is based off of Neymar.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I figured Okay.
Speaker 1:Yes, so uh, shido is actually based off of a real player too, oddly enough, with all of that acrobatic and unpredictable play style I gotta show you I'm not sure.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm not sure.
Speaker 1:I think I think the player is german. I think he's german, but he's based off of a german player named, uh, ibram ibramovich. I'm gonna pronounce that, so wrong it's. I think it's zoltan ibramovich and they both literally, if you go watch his plays, same acrobatic play style and it is crazy, it is wild to know and see those same hat tricks. Oh my god, crazy. I don't know much about football, but I will say Blue Lock has made me more of a football fan, just like Hayaku turned me into somewhat of a volleyball fan and just like Kuri Kono Basket made me actually be excited for March Madness, because I don't watch anything else of basketball other than March Madness and March Madness highlights of basketball, other than March Madness and March Madness highlights.
Speaker 1:So I think we kind of covered up everything you got. Anything else you want to?
Speaker 2:say yeah, no, we pretty much covered everything in the series on the show.
