hey yo, can we talk about the new sonnet movie that just came out, about a month ago? Because let me just say that it is a very solid, good movie. Like the jokes were pretty good. I definitely like the inclusion of shadow, where he had this john wick aura aura emanating from him with. You know the scene in Tokyo where he was walking in the rain and whatnot. He did the Akira slide on the motorcycle and all that and ultimately I was just in for the ride.
Speaker 1:You know being a fan of Sonic Adventure 2 for a long time, even though the movie did make some direction changes, but I liked it for what it is. So here's the thing we already established that Shadow Crash landed from a meteorite back in 94. So that could be a tie into the whole fact that Black Doom and that's gonna be a whole different time, not talking about the story and what not when we get there. Um, and of course, shadows Power was being experimented on by Gunn and Professor Gerald Robotnik, and there was Maria there, who's Gerald's granddaughter, as you know, he just played Sonic Adventure 2. We all know that eventually she ends up dying trying to escape from Gun and from then on, gerald and Shadow try to exact revenge on Maria. Well, not on Maria, but, you know, try to get revenge for the sake of Maria. That being said, shadow was contained for 50 years and he finally got loose. And, bro, let me tell you I was very impressed by the way he was like fucking handling those gun soldiers, kind of like in the games, shadow, the hedgehog, and only shadow can make rollerblading look menacing. I mean, I know they're like hover skates, but still like the way he was gliding, like that trying to get out of the prison, it was good. And the way he was also like overpowered team sonic. By the way, oh, I do like that little reference where uh, sonic said, for the movies, I'm out of here when they dropped out of the helicopter, like you know, the Sonic 2, sonic Adventure 2 fans, they'll get that, they'll get it.
Speaker 1:Same thing with Child Garden, where it was like this Japanese karaoke part. But, once again, if you play the game, you know what the Child Garden is. Essentially, agent Stone Helps Team Sonic Trying to uh Figure out what the hell is going on With uh robotic drones Suddenly attacking them out of nowhere. But it turns out it's a whole thing, with um Gerald who's surprise, surprise, still alive and hacked the drones To kind of like the whole thing with Gerald, who's surprise, surprise, still alive and had the drones to kind of like signal the fact that, oh, he's here, you know Time to roll out the plan, and all that.
Speaker 1:Ah, it got crazy. Well, not super crazy, but it did get a little crazy with, um, gerald. Well, I guess the one thing, the main thing I kinda didn't like, was the fact that it made Gerald into a bad guy when he was actually a good guy in the game. But I guess they needed a bad guy, since, I mean, yeah, there's's eggman, but at this point it's like, you know, eggman, it's like either he's the main antagonist or the secondary antagonist. So I guess, um, they needed like a fresh face and I guess they changed around to where, oh, what up, gerald was the bad guy who wanted to destroy the entire earth.
Speaker 1:But what happened to maria? Uh, essentially trying to create the eclipse cannon that they need, for you know how they had the whole thing with the art up on the moon, but they use the moon in the movie, but they did kind of like, ah, cut the moon by accident, by accident. But it was kind of funny, it was a whole bit Ah, accident by accident, but uh, it was kind of funny, it was a whole bit. I like how they tried to set this movie up to where it starts off really happy at first, but then it kind of cuts in between happy and sad with uh shadows, uh backstory flashbacks and whatnot, and it kind of made it sound like tom was gonna bite it. The way they were setting up this character at first and especially, uh, when you get to the point when Shadow accidentally punched him Really hard and Sonic was like what did you do? And Shadow said what I had to. But keep in mind it was back when Shadow thought that Commander Walters Was still alive Because he died during the whole child card fiasco and Commander Walters was part of the whole team that was shadowed 50 years ago. So that's why it's a female you. But yeah, there was are a bunch of crazy things and I'm not trying to over sell it, I'm not trying to undersell it anyway, but like I just was practically crashing out At the near end To where, yeah, you know what I need, um Chaos Emerald, to deal with Shadow, because this has gone On long enough, because, uh, he pretty much he thought on, tom died.
Speaker 1:So he was like nah, no, let me just get the key. And then he got the. He ended up getting it from Wade, and if you've seen the Knuckles TV show then you'll know why Wade has the Master Emerald. But you know, it wasn't that hard to get it from him. So Sonic went, super Sonic, come front and shadow. It wasn't that hard to get it from him. So sonic went, supersonic confronted shadow, by the way, just straight up right through the spaceship, and it was like impressive, and it was this whole tussle. Shadow ended up getting the power of the chaos, emeralds as well. So they were both like supersonic versus hyper shadow and shadow was like handling them for the most part. But then shadow was like oh, you abandon your family and your friends. Who the fuck does that? I don't know. I wonder who. Uh, what's his name? What's his name again? Oh, like don't you speak his name? He got crap. He got crap.
Speaker 1:But ultimately Eggman found out that Gerald wanted to destroy the whole earth For what the world did. Well, really, you know, after Maria died, he was like you know what? Fuck the planet. And then Eggman tried to stop him and all that. It was a whole thing and I think it was kind of funny the way they killed off Zero. It was like it's kind of like that. If you watch the movie, it was a whole thing. Watch the movie, it was a whole thing. And Eggman sacrificed himself to make sure that the planet is saved, because he never wanted to destroy the planet, he just wanted to rule it. And Shadow, he helped but he got blasted away. But you know, he's still alive.
Speaker 1:You've seen the second post-credits scene. He's still alive, and that was pretty much it. Oh, the first post credit scene. I think this is like my favorite part of the whole movie out there. No, no, no, let me take it back. I think just about every scene Shadow was in was my favorite part and of course, once again, the jokes were funnier in this movie.
Speaker 1:But, um, the first post credit scene, that was my favorite because I was hoping Metal Sonic was going to make an appearance in this third film. But I was kind of disappointed with the resume. They took up until the last minute where you saw Metal Sonic get cloned and it was like, oh shit, oh shit. But then Amy showed up, handled all of them and I think it's gonna be a reverse thing to where, if you know about Sonic CD, where Metal Sonic was the main character, the main antagonist in that one, and that's how Sonic and Amy met to where Sonic saved Amy from Metal Sonic. But this time around it was like the opposite, where Amy saved Sonic from Metal Sonic. And I was about to get mad how Metal Sonic got hoed out of this movie because I'm like, yeah, he got his appearance but it just felt like a throwaway character.
Speaker 1:But thankfully I just saw a statement from the director, jeff fowler, that said, oh no, we're gonna bring them back, like amy and metal sonic gonna be back in the fourth film, don't worry about it. Um, we're not gonna just add characters, just throw them away. I'm like, okay, okay, I appreciate that. Except for that, that saved the whole movie for me. But yeah, lesson learned from Sonic Listen to your friends, don't go crashing out Out of nowhere. You know Gotta think things through and all that shit. And yeah, oh yeah, tom's fine, he's alright, he's just recovering from his injury but he's good. I know he also survived the cannon destruction.
Speaker 1:But I don't know about Eggman, like, I think, the main thing with Jim Carrey. He's kind of done with movies as a whole. But he'll show the fuck up for these Sonic movies. But I think the way they kind of write his characters out to where, like, he could come back. He probably won't, but even then maybe he can like take a break from the Sonic movie, like take a break from the fourth one, maybe come back in the potential fifth one who could be like out of space adventures and all that, so we could get new villains and whatnot. You know, might as well throw in as many Sonic characters as you can in here. Eventually we might end up getting like a Smash Brothers movie. You know Sonic Link a whole bunch of people. We were kind of talking about it in the nerd news special.
Speaker 1:But yeah, like, if I were to rate, spawned the hedgehog 3, the movie, I'd say five out of five stars. I don't care, I loved it. I loved it for what it is like. I did not hate this movie at all. I almost had a cow about, you know, the direction they took with Metal Sonic. But with that statement I'm like, okay, okay, he'll be back for the fourth one. Let's see if he fucks shit up in the fourth one.
Speaker 1:Because my main thing is Metal Sonic was supposed to be a thing before Shadow. You know canonically Well, you know timeline-wise, as you know as far as the games, but then again it kind of makes sense to go ahead and have Shadow go ahead and be included, because he might be in the fourth or he might not, and it would just kind of feel weird, you know. But then Amy would have some interaction with Shadow in this one. But you know, whatever it is what it is, I'm not going to play too much. I like Booth for what it is. So yeah, that was a little quick review review, a little lightning review for you. Oh yeah, one last thing I did like how sonic included his catchphrase gotta go fast. And then shadow was like don't tell me, that's your catchphrase. And he was like, uh, yes, it is New Hedgehog and people love it, and I'm like, yeah. So that was another review from the Zone Podcast.
